man, I hope capcpom does an actual sale on revelaitons 2 tomorrow because that's the only time I'll have to really get into it this weekend. Right now it'd be cheaper if I got it on greenman.

Same. I wanna get ma cards!
What are the cards good for?

For those that have done steam sales before. Do games on day one show up cheaper at later times?
I'm new to this, and there are some games that I'm interested, but I'm not sure if it would be the right time to buy. Thanks!

I've never known a game that's been on a daily or flash sale to ever be lower later. I can't be 100% sure of this but I'm pretty sure it's never happened.

Did IdleMaster not really loading for anyone else?

Do you get a connection error or something like that when you start the program? If so, just ignore the error and blacklist this id: 368020. That worked for me and my friend. Somebody said that IdleMaster is trying to idle cards for the summer sale badge and that causes the error.

Scholar of the First Sin is currently at $24.99 or $13.99 for those that already own the DX9 version...but they used to have 3 separate pricing tiers...$50 for the whole DX11 game, $30 for those who have the game already and $20 for those with season pass...so they eliminated the $20 option for those that already own the Season Pass??...meaning if that option went on sale as part of the Steam Sale it would be even cheaper then $13.99

I still see it at 23.99 for me. I own the game but not any of the DLC. I do want it if it gets low enough, but I'm going to wait for a flash or daily at least, see if gets any lower.

It was mentioned in the OP and a bunch of pages though but yea it sucks when it happens after the fact

Also as said the refund stuff should help soften the blow now.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I do not have time to just wait on the Steam page all day waiting for prices to go down X percentage. I purchased a nice amount of games that I've been waiting ages to play, all discounted. I am happy with the purchase. I arrive here, excited, to see a Steam Summer Sale thread and go in saying what I purchased. I check back later and am met with a crazy amount of negativity both in threads and in PM.

Why exactly does this warrant being talked down to again?

I've had a few anxiety attacks today, so I apologize for my apparent hostility. But the behavior of the people on this site has been declining for a while in my eyes and it pushed me over the boiling point.

I am glad to see everyone freaking the fuck out about how I spend my cash(which was mostly steam wallet funds from selling tf2 crap and badges + a giftcard from xmas) but the way I see it, paying the price of 1 brand new game for 8 or so games is a deal to me.

Thanks for the shaming guys you're all stand up people.

You just shot yourself in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Steam culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is on Origin where you can get a bigger library just by buying stuff at full price. If you buy high on Steam, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is that Steam users, after hearing about this not want to hear any more blasphemy, nor will they want to offend their eyes by seeing lists of game purchases not discounted by 99%. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but you have alienated an entire market with this move.

You must publicly apologize to their Lord Gaben and not purchase any more non dailies or you can kiss a large Steam library goodbye.

You MIGHT be blowing things out of proportion. Just maybe...

Nidhogg for 80% off..... surely (maybe) won't get better than that!
5 games bought. 3 on my wishlist & the Metro bundle... all for £14.

Half minute hero 2 is $2.49
...Dare I wait for it to go for $0.99?

It's $1.13 over here. 75% off is likely the lowest it will go.

If you want them, you could have someone gift you the "worldwide" (as Ubi so calls them) versions. Provided they're not purchased in Central/South America, South-east Asia or Turkey, they'll be region-free.

I'm getting them on Uplay - technically I already bought them all, they're in my Steam wishlist just in case Ubi will stop being stupid fucks and will sell normal versions on Steam for cheap but what are the chances of that happening?

Interestingly enough it's easy to buy a proper Uplay version and it's nearly impossible to buy a "global" Steam version - gifting is the only way really.

You don't need to "wait on steam page all day". You literally only have to check Steam once per day.

My team just beaten the Mobile Apocalypse boss. My auto-fire does more damage than my click damage by a huge margin. Guess I'm sticking to upgrading my advanced targeting upgrade.

it shows as $23.99 on the Steam webpage...you need to log into your Steam account to see the $13.99 price

No one cares about what you spend your money on (it's your money!), but people are giving you advice to wait for daily / flash sales so you don't end up buying something and then getting angry when you find out later that the game you bought for $30 was actually $3. We get dozens of people every single sale doing that, and it's annoying as hell, because we do really good at actually giving people the information they need to avoid making mistakes.

If people are harassing you, then report them, and we'll take corrective action. But if it's just "dude! you're making a mistake!", that's people trying to help you, not hurt you.

All you need to do is check Steam once or twice a day and if what you want to purchase isn't feature, wait until the last day of the sale. That's it. It's not something where you need to be in front of your computer refreshing obsessively.

What's up with that shitty GTAV non-sale? Saw "GTA" on main page, got excited, click through and see GTAV on "sale" only in bundles with other games or with online currency that still puts it at $60. Lame. Like, right now, a slot on the main page of Steam shows "GTAV $59.99" with no green "-XX%" badge, which hilarious and sadly stands out.

You can either use them to craft badges, or you can sell them on the community market for credit which you can put towards games. I always tend to do the latter. If the game is on the homepage with the rest of the main deals (daily/flash) then it is very very unlikely to be cheaper later on, unless if there is a price glitch at some point, so probably safe to buy then. If the game you want isn't part of the main deals for the day then don't buy it until it pops up on there or if it doesn't just buy it on the last day of sales.
