Steam Summer Sale 2015 thread of refunding everything you buy (June 11-21)

Bough Valkyria Chronicles... I already own it on PS3 but I feel like I needed it again.

I'm a sucker.
It's a great port, especially if you use some of the cosmetic mods, at a great price. You're not a sucker for taking that deal.

That said, some executive at Sega is laughing his ass off as the PC port continues to bring in money, probably in spite of the expectations of most other Sega execs.

I would be interested to know how many games you have in your library, what your backlog looks like, and what games you like to play. Maybe you already have the games you want? I've been back into pc gaming for the last 2 years and I still love the sales. Usually I drop about 50 to 70 each sale.

You're exactly right, people don't realize that their interest in sales is directly correlated to their library size.

Soany people saying yesterday was underwhelming....that's because your library consists of thousands of games. Think of the millions that are new to PC gaming. Considering people outside your own bubble is difficult apparently.

I'll ask again since I didn't get a response a few pages back, but...

I didn't care for it too much. I was hoping it was a more realistic "Don't Starve" but its not that at all. it ends up being a weird roguelike game with a difficult interface. It looks nice and if you can't get enough of killing zombies, its got that for ya.

Hopefully Yakuza is in the pipelines

Grabbed Darksiders collection, why not. Seems interesting and of course... Steam refund.

Still mulling over Valkyria Chronicles. It looks like a game I could play but then it also doesn't. Again, sure, Steam refund but I don't know.

I found it fun for what it is. The crafting felt limited in the end though and as you advance, inventory management becomes kinda annoying. Still, for the price, it's a more than OK experience and the zombie killing is fun.

While that is very true! It also isn't quite the same as it used to be, simply because of regional price gouging.

Back in the day, you were certain of getting some great deals, no matter where you are. Now most of them are double what you would want to pay anyway.

Also a lot of modern games are shit.

Those would be the two main problems with sales these days.

Steam refund can't give you back the hours of your life spent playing games like Darksiders.

YAY. Motherfucking YAY.

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY
Well then. It looks like it will be my first purchase this sale.

So do you not really have to do anything to get cards? I only played the clicker game for like ten minutes earlier but when I signed into Steam just now I had two cards.

It's a Steam Sale. I don't wanna think, I just wanna buy buy buy!

It seems to me that if you buy something (anything really), and in the clicker game your team beats a level, you have a chance to get a monster game card drop, up to 3 a day. This could be completely wrong but from my experience with my kids accounts and my account, that's the way it works so far.

I hope one of my wish listed games hits a sale today I have my money queued up, just waiting:

Wolfy TNO
Wolfy NB

FF8
FF7

TitS
Ys

Fingers crossed, I just don't want to mess up and miss anything.

Kinda but also it does seem the percentage deals have been sliding. In sales pasts, new games only a few months old getting 75% or more off in the daily deals was common. Now it seems like 25% - 33% for anything released in 2015. Plus we have companies raising the price before sales. Something retail stores did for years but it hasn't been that common on steam until this year.

This is not to say this sale is bad or terrible. Just different.

I imagine publishers and independent devs crunched the numbers over the years and concluded it's better for their bottom line not to slash prices too early even it they were getting those daily spikes. That's my suspicion anyway.

Same here. Good luck.

My top 20 wish list is all indie games and most aren't that new. 75% is my bottom line discount before I pull the trigger and most of them are sitting at 10% - 25%. However they haven't been dailies yet (except for Detective Case which I did buy yesterday) so there is still hope.

anyone elsse having troouble joining this "monster summer game"
everytime i try to join i get "There was a problem trying to join a game. Please try again later."

The hours of darksiders i played were not enough for my lifetime
Good solid games even if 2 had avrious misteps.

Is there any way to increase the number of games that appear in your recent games list when you right click the system tray icon?

Added 20€ to my Steam wallet and immediatly bought Valkyria Chronicles!... which I'll play after I finish Trails in the Sky, the Kingdom Hearts 2,5 Remix HD Collection and Catherine.

Now waiting for a Resident Evil 4 discount and maybe 1-2 other small things.

Anything that goes on sale on your wishlist will have an e-mail sent to your account e-mail.

In for Valkyria Chronicles and KOF2002. So glad I didn't buy yesterday at $7.49, but I'm sad that there are no more SNK games left to buy.

It's my first Steam sale too. PC Gaming... where have you been all my life?

A few years back I posted a 1 to 1 comparison of console game prices vs. Steam/other downloadable services prices at the time and the amount you save per game as a PC gamer adds up to quite a bit. We all know that PC gaming can be expensive to start but the gap in total money spent for gaming isn't as drastic as console-centric folks would have you believe. And this is completely discounting the fact of better game performance and visual quality and non-game related computing activities you also use your PC for.

I can't connect to the monster game at all. If I click on play now I get an error, if I try to join a friends game it says I need to be within 10 levels of the game.

Anyways, picked up KoF 98 and 02. I probably own them elsewhere, but might as well at $3 a piece.

I'm getting more into fighting games. Which KOF game should I get if I haven't played the series much?

Although, they are both so cheap that I might just get both.
