Stellar Blade debuts on Steam with over 192k CCU (best-performing single-player PlayStation Studios release)

I'm not interested in it myself, but I'm glad to see a game profiled so heavily as a sexy game or Gooner bait doing so well.
Might inspire Sony and the industry at large to reconsider its recent choices.

"Mr Druckmann, after careful consideration we have decided to mandate some drastic changes to Intergalactic's character design & art direction."

I also legit have no fucking clue what a "gooner" is. My MP game buddies keep dropping it as well and I just pretend that I'm hip and young and go loool wow so crazy guyyyzzz.

Gooner is an Arsenal fan.
Works multiple ways too - arsenal - arse = ass
Weapon storage where you could find a nice pair of bazookas.

150k on a thursday is wild. Is the game popping off in China or something? Either way im happy for Shift Up, its a great game

Can't believe you guys cheer for this shit. It's irresponsible and disgusting. We all know that for every 1k copies sold, at least five women literally DIE. There are piles of bodies mounting all across San Francisco and none of you fucking care.

Yup. It's been charting decently in the US even prior to release but was always doing better globally. Whatever it eventually peaks at will definitely be during Asia prime time.

Stellar Blade is pulling numbers like it's a non exclusive launch day game. 65k is pretty damn great even as a non late launch game since it's not one of those very expensive AAA games. So the fact that a late launch game like this could get this much speaks volume especially when late launch game usually gets around 20k to 50k ccu.
China Hero Project (and now India) is delivering results. Great Sony initiative.

Schools out, many start their summer vacations now. Numbers should increase for the next 5 hours until 20:00 CET at the very least.

Now those are some amazing numbers for a port. Nearly double of DMC5 peaks which was day 1.

I am probably missing some, but behind GTA5, MH World/Rise, it seems to be the best performing port to date.
And if we count delayed relases it would additionally be behind only big stuff like COD, Destiny 2 and Amazon MMOs.

I was a bit on edge, but definitely gonna get it once i have the time if people like it this much.

I think the CCU peak for today should be around 14:00 UTC (roughly 2 hours from now) which is when games with a large Asian player base typically peak (half of the total number of user reviews for the game are coming from East Asia).

it also really helps that the game runs smoothly on a 1650
most other sony ports struggle even on a 4060

Demo runs well on my 1060 but I'm holding off buying it until I get a graphic card upgrade.

I can't let a good boob/ty go to waste with bad low res textures.

I'm happy for people that are stoked but it's hard to not see this as anything more than just some gooner game considering all the mods and then some, lmao.

That's what I thought, too - that it was getting all the attention because of the main character's appearance, and it didn't have much to offer beyond that. Not true. I'm about 10 hours in on the PS5 Pro version, and I'm enjoying it for reasons completely unconnected to Eve's appearance. I notice her beauty during cutscenes, but during the normal game, I'm focused on the exploration and action.

This may be a stupid question, but is the actual game good? Or rather, is it great/exceptional? Or is it pretty standard for a 3rd-person action game, just with nice visuals?

I would say it's good, not great. It has challenging combat, varied enemies, beautiful character design, and worthwhile (though limited) exploration. Music is nice, too. As far as shortcomings go, I find the environments visually dull (so far; I'm only 10 hours in), the story feels like generic SF, and the level design seems a little obscure sometimes.

Didn't play this when it came out on console. Might check it out. I don't care about the big tits and nice ass in a game, but is the gameplay any good? Challenging with depth?

Take this fwiw, because I'm not good at these type games (memorize combos, fast reflexes, precise timing), but I found the combat challenging enough that I had to dial it back to story difficulty in order to continue. That has become too easy, though, so I may ratchet it back up. There seems to be a decent amount of depth to the combat - a heap of combos and special moves, plus weapons and special ammo.

I also legit have no fucking clue what a "gooner" is. My MP game buddies keep dropping it as well and I just pretend that I'm hip and young and go loool wow so crazy guyyyzzz.

Gooner = someone addicted to sexual or sexualized content.
