Super Best Friends Thread 17: I don't have Bloodborne or Monster Hunter... Uhh...

Oh man, that "which of the Five's would you prefer to fail?" question is a real tough one.

MGSV failing wouldn't soil everything else Kojima has done while at Konami, so I'd have to say MGSV.

MGS4's plot went all over the fucking place. Peace Walker I REALLY did not like.

Oh man, hearing Woolie mention seaQuest DSV was a "holy shit, I feel old moment."

That said, that British teens on submarines sounds like it could be great or utter shit.

I still think Pat was overall right. Billy is NOT the norm for this kind of scenario. And while yes, he can still be a very good lancer at level 50, there's still no advantage to not going for dragoon or whatever as he could be doing even better, so he's still gimping his team, except he's good enough (and to be fair, DPS are not the classes that have sometimes required skills to make a run succesful)

But if it was a conjurer (like I play) for example who decided that for some reason he didn't want to become a white mage or a scholar, he would be a pain in the ass for higher dungeons as he would be lacking some really important spells

I agree with Pat, though. Now with the 50-60 skills, he's missing a huge part of the damage. I would be pissed if I got him in roulette for 60 stuff.
He's still missing huge damage if you don't even include the 50-60 job skills introduced with Heavensward.

The only class that can maybe get away with not being their advanced job is Rogue but I'm not an expert on them so I don't know if Ninja's 50-60 abilities are better for them than the cross-class abilities they can grab while still being a rogue.

Still listening to the podcast. They did the PC conference?!

They talked over it about unrelated things, improving it by 10,000% to "not watchable" status.

Edit: New Lore! Liam hates Resident Evil, probably because Revelaitons spurned him in favor of his more popular brother, the 3DS.

I just got to the spoilercast now. Liam's zinger at the end was great. Gonna stop now because I haven't done season 5. So yay Ride to Hell woo.

Oh man, I was thinking about making a joke here about how Ride to Hell would be the perfect name for a Stand that only affects video games, then
the characters started manifesting Stands
.

And boy, do I wish Liam was here to shift the discussion from
horse fucking
to
centaur fucking
. It would've been slightly less dangerous.

Poor Matt. I started a diet myself and his sounded similar too mine but then it went super out there with only having berries as fruits. I hope he reconsiders and tries something else before it gets to be too much and it all goes out the window.

It's easy for me: Metal Gear. Because I don't really care for Metal Gear.

Or, well, how can I put it...I like everything about Metal Gear except actually playing it.
I agree with you about every game... except Ground Zeroes. It might actually be the first stealth game I love playing. Since TPP is that, I'm actually amped to play one instead of just the story.

Con Bravo is happening soon. So I checked the guest list and Super Best Friends are still up there.

Now I am wondering if I have missed an announcement, or if the website just hasn't updated from last year.

I actually might be able to make it there this year, if they do go.

I can't listen to the podcast right now but which are the Fives?

Street Fighter V
Metal Gear Solid V
Persona 5
Devil May Cry 5
Halo 5

If so that's easy, either Halo or Street Fighter cause I'm not playing either lol.

Oh man, that "which of the Five's would you prefer to fail?" question is a real tough one.

Super easy for me. P5 and Halo 5 at the top of that list.

Halo 5 a little less, because there's a teeny, tiny chance it comes to PCs, and even though everything they've shown looks like CoDified trash, I'm more interested in that than JRPG.

Wow that's easy, I'd let MGS5 die twice if it meant the other 2 could be better, but that's probably a hard question if you're a fan of all of those franchises.

If I had to pick two of those to fail I'd add P5 too, SFV just edges it out.

I'd prefer P5 to fail. Actually wait... but P5 needs to save HD MegaTen games. Eh okay, MGS5 can fail. If SF5 fails, fighting games die. If MGS5 fails? Konami will die?? The effect of MGS5 failing is the least impacting so therefore, MGS5!

I love how Matt just casually went SF5 and then ignited the rage of Pat and Woolie.

I'm really getting invested in the Silent Hill Shattered memories storyline, dunno why that title didn't do better (well I guess a few things but it's really damn good)

It's not just talking success either, it's one of them being awful.

I can't make a choice.

Yeah. Like I said, due to my (extreme) dislike of MGS2 and general distaste for MGS4, I made peace long ago with the fact that games in that series being awful don't diminish in any way the enjoyment I've gotten from the others.

I mean, the worst case scenario I can imagine is that I spin it up and it's just an HD remaster of MGS2, in which case I could just give it to a friend who likes that game and pretend like the whole affair never happened. I'm already well-trained at ignoring the parts of MGS I don't like, thanks to based Kojima's VR simulations.
