Why not? They just cancelled Factions so they should have a lot of staff available. On top of that, they will most likely work with Iron Galaxy again for that port. I think it's coming out later this year. It shouldn't take that long to release it unless they once again want to capitalize on the TV show and get the PC port out for season 2.I think Demon Souls, TLOU2 and Ghosts are not coming out simply because Nixxes is busy with these games and ND isnt going to port another game to PC themselves.
One would assume though that once an engine has been ported over (Decima/whatever Insomniac's is called, or does it even have a name?), subsequent ports would be easier/quicker? Even with improvements to the engine since the last port.Nixxes is doing HFW right now. it took them roughly 9 months to port it. GOW Ragnorak is likely being ported by the same studio that ported the first game, and that took 2 years.
I expect Nixxes to go from HFW straight into Spiderman 2 for a November 2024 release with GOW Ragnorak also coming out that month.
I think Demon Souls, TLOU2 and Ghosts are not coming out simply because Nixxes is busy with these games and ND isnt going to port another game to PC themselves. Sucker Punch is too small to port Ghost and same goes for BP porting Demon Souls. And i highly doubt Sony gives these games to anyone other than Nixxes.
unless Spiderman 2 is coming out in December 2025 which would give Nixxes enough time to port one of those games to PC.
I’m not. They want us to double dip. First PS5, then PC with some upgrades a year or three later.I'm surprised it's taking Sony so long.
You can add non-Steam games/apps to launch via SteamOn Steam? How?
And who is going to port all of those this year?
Tsushima goddamn better come to pc this year, the game is 3.5 years old at this point.
SONY PLS
Nah, it ain't really on Steam, I just link the exe file of the PS3 emulator and made custom banners and icons. On Steam? How?

PC porting is assumed to be dirt cheap.Seeing how poor some of the pc sales have been…. Idk man.
Last of us 2 is a given but the rest are highly unlikely.
Your telling me playstation, who has been porting their modern games to PC, is going to port more of their modern games to PC?
On a side note, I have the PS2 version that I also played improved on an emulator and I have the PS4 Pro version, but Shadow of the Colossus is absolutely a game that I would re-purchase on PC.
Weirdly enough Sony doesn't seem to remember its existence when it comes to weighting the options for these ports.
Have it emulated, running on Steam, with 60FPS patch, ReShade lighting and modded 4K updated Textures.
I WANT.
THE FUCKING.
REMAKE.
Exactly the opposite of my desires.TLOU2 is 100%, the others, eh
While I agree that return over investment makes it worth it for Sony, your numbers are slightly off.PC porting is assumed to be dirt cheap.
The bigger franchises have sold millions on PC, but some of the smaller titles seem like total stinkers (Sackboy, Returnal etc..).
So if a popular franchise gets ported and sells 1M copies at around $40 cut for Sony, that's $40M in net revenue alone. Minus off some dev costs and sale pricing and it's probably still $30M profit.
Sony's gaming division makes about $2 billion profit. One half decent PC port can add $30M more profit alone. And it's simply a port. Not a grassroots new IP or anything which would cost way more to make.
Day 1 on Demon's Souls. Platinumed it on PS5 (it was the killer app for me) but I want to grab all the achievements on Steam too. Sony also releases their games on GoG and Demon's Souls would be cool if it ended up there, albeit unlikely.
How did you get it on Steam?
You can add non-Steam games/apps to launch via Steam
There is nothing special going on there
Those PS4 games that don't have PS5 versions are seemingly not in consideration anymore. On a side note, I have the PS2 version that I also played improved on an emulator and I have the PS4 Pro version, but Shadow of the Colossus is absolutely a game that I would re-purchase on PC.

We know exactly how much revenue they earned from selling these games on PC. 1 million sales is basically equivalent to $26 million in revenue. my guess is that the 30% steam cut and those GMG/cd keys keys are costing them a lot of revenue but they seem to be ok with it since the cost to port these games seems to be $1.5-3 million max according to the latest insomniac leaks. GOW was ported by 4 guys over the course or 2 years so probably less than a million.
It looks like most games Sony has ported has sold between half a million to a little over 3 million unit with the exception of Sackboy if we are going by the Insomniac leaks. I'll try to be conservative and say they make 30-50% of MSRP selling their games on PC when you factor in Steam's cut, sales, key resellers, regional pricing. If you think that is too much or too little, feel free to readjust.
Title: MSRP - Units Sold = Earnings Estimate
HZD: $49.99 - 3.3M = $49.4-82.4M
GOW: $49.99 - 2.5M = $37.4-62.4M
DG: $49.99 - 1.7M = $25.4-42.4M
SM:R: $59.99 - 1.3M = $23.3-$38.9
UC: $49.99 - 483K = $7.2M-12M
MM: $49.99- 450K = $6.7M-$11.2M
SB: $59.99 - 62K = $1.1-1.8M
We also know the port of R&C cost $2.6M.
Oh I know. I want to directly open it via Steam, but I can't, without opening ps3 emulator first. You can add non-Steam games/apps to launch via Steam

True fan.Nah, it ain't really on Steam, I just link the exe file of the PS3 emulator and made custom banners and icons.
I’m wondering if Nixxes went on a hiring spree to get multiple projects going at the same time. That would be the only way they could get all this stuff out this year. Based on what the Sony higher ups have been saying about PC, I believe that this is their new push. Just not sure how profitable it would be to do that.
It's very easy to shortcut the game to your Steam Library, and I can PM you the pics to add them to your game. But yeah, it has to open the PS3 emulator first. Eh, big whoop.Oh I know. I want to directly open it via Steam, but I can't, without opening ps3 emulator first.
True fan.
I guess I have to use desktop Demons Souls shortcut as always.

If I were Sony, when Xbox stops selling consoles and the PC port-begging reaches an all-time high, I'd make everything exclusive again. Because clearly the thirst is real then. LolIf true, the "Sony is also discussing porting earlier games e.g. infamous Second Son to PC as well." is the most interesting part for me, because Gravity Rush is what I want the most on PC from Sony, so I do really wish they would release some of their older games.
Plus it can create some hype for the sequel. Folks get say Ghost of Tsushima 1 on PC and say 2 is coming soon on PS5. A lot of folks would be tempted to not wait but get a PS5 to play it right away.PC porting is assumed to be dirt cheap.

I know Sony owns Nixxes, what I’m wondering is if Sony owns these companies too, or if they are doing contracting work for them instead. They aren’t strictly using Nixxes. They used Jetpack for God of War and they actually did a great job. They used Iron Galaxy for TLOU and Uncharted and they did a bad job.
Someone should really get QLOC on the horn. They are even better than Nixxes imo.
you can add whatever executable (in this case a ps3 emulator) to steam you know, plus choose the icon, background image etc.On Steam? How?
I was talking about adding games individually and I found it and edited my post, but thanks.you can add whatever executable (in this case a ps3 emulator) to steam you know, plus choose the icon, background image etc.
You think Sony will stop making new games altogether? In a couple years we’ll be caught up. They’re going to have to start bringing their back catalog over like Gravity Rush.
You think Sony will stop making new games altogether?
Then your assumption seems rather flawed. No one said that.
No. There's an interview from last year where the current, well-known, PS strategy WRT PC ports was reiterated. No new info there, especially relating to individual games.Didn't the CEO of Sony recently say something to that effect?
Then your assumption seems rather flawed.
They've been consistently released over a period of ~2 years after on console, so yeah, this isn't happening. Especially when you still have older games like GOT and DS that haven't been ported over.If ports release at a higher rate than new releases

Spider-Man 2? (Since MLB and the VR games won't be ported over). Thankfully, you've got that one, TLOU2, Ghosts, Demon's, HFW, GT7 and Ragnarok all set until the end of 2025.Well, Sony released how many first party games last year?
