see my theory is that it started off as a way to avoid saying nigga since thats what most new yorkers say but it got a life of its own and now most nyc memes have this thing that isn't even actually a thing, at this point it think its part of the joke. only problem i can think of with that is that ppl here also say bro and dude so they could have just used that to avoid it too, i really don't know man

I had a conversation with my boy and we believe it developed from saying "god" or "my g" and so someone some where must have took it to mean "my guy"

Either way shits corny and I hate it
