Rose tinted glasses. $599 was Kutaragi's mess.

The 40GB and $200 price cut was THE thing that needed to be done, and Kaz put that into motion as soon as he was put in charge. It's helped them recover to #2 in sales in the US this year and a comfortable #2 in Europe (seemingly) in the same period. That was almost unthinkable given where they were last year.

Delays happened under Phil.

Wipeout, Motorstorm2, LBP, Valkryia Chronicles, Disgaea 3, Buzz, Socom, Siren, Pixeljunk Eden, flower, The Last Guy..along with the multiplat stuff, Fallout 3, Mirror's Edge, SC4 etc. etc.

LBP has the potential to be a new marquee Playstation franchise, IMO. I'd forgive them for pushing it.

Gears2 PS3 will never happen. But if you ask nicely, maybe Mass Effect 2 will come your way.
 
im guessing 2 of those 4 titles will be White Knight Story and GoW3..

but they said these 4 titles will be released in 2008 or early 2009.. WKS is due for this fiscal year so it must be it

a strong showing of WKC, with a firm release window (slideshow from a few weeks ago point to showtime by march) will do wonders i think.

sony should try its hardest to make level 5 its mistwalker since SE seems to be going rouge.

They should go ahead and tie up a Dark Cloud 3 and revive true fantasy online

I agree. I think most JRPG fans who bought PS3 would feel a bit satiated if there are actually decent amount of JRPGs exclusively coming in for PS3. Games that we know we'll come in a matter of 6 months not years.

Not talking specifically about your post but I question the validity of sites posting stuff like this. It's so vague it doesn't mean anything. A Sony rep? They should've just made it up - and may well have.

However, having said that your post doesn't make any outrageous claims (although talk of a new FW already would be unusual I think).

Not long to go now. New IPs will keep me happy, but hoping to see some infrastructure stuff (Home, P-VID-SN), PSP(!) and, I will not downplay some of the impressive games that are confirmed for show. :)

By all interview accounts, Squeenix are going to finish FFXIII on the PS3 for Japan and then begin on X360 porting (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168704) while making sure that the North America and Europe version are released on PS3 & 360 at the same time.

This means that the PS3 version release might be held back to wait for development to complete on the 360. I do not see how that was possible without a moneyhat.

i'm thinking

1) ratchet and clank quest for booty (confirmed from that E3 space image)
2) That MAG shooter game from Zipper
3) God of War III
4) i dunno, wasnt there some game with a name like 'xamd' or somethin random?

for me those dont really interest me though :/ (yes even GOWIII)
 
I came into this generation as a hardcore-jRPGer primarily, but after playing the PS3, I've broadened my horizons into other genres, finally...but I will admit, 360 getting FFXIII doesn't bother me, it's the fact that we're not getting much in the way of RPGs at ALL.

I know that thought has been hammered in this thread, but I'd be perfectly happy if a PS3 Star Ocean 4 was announced. :D

I think that's practically a shoe-in, with all the recent rumors and the PSP firmware update announcement.
 
As a recent PS3 adopter the only game besides MGS4 that I was really looking forward to was FFXIII and if it's available on 360 that's one less reason for me to keep my PS3 around, seeing as how the game probably won't be out until late next year (if that) anyway.

If Sony doesn't show some epic games coming out this year I'm going to dump my 80GB PS3 until something else comes along and just pick one up down the line.

For all those who are bitter about it:

I've never understood this thinking. There are bound to be exclusive games that'll interest you sooner or later. But I know...I know: It's troll drivel, and I'm feeding it.
 
I have always seen Home as having huge potential...

The thing is its up to developers to take advantage of this potential...
I hope we see more on Game Spaces today. You know, R2 Home Space, GT Home Space etc...

Uh... I really hope its not Twisted Metal.

Jaffe went from Twisted Metal to God of War to Heartland to Calling All Cars to ... Twisted Metal? Sort of a lateral move if you ask me.

If you're going to go the small games route, do creative stuff like Patapon or PixelJunk Eden.

People keep talking about how to counter FFXIII and honestly if they did anything like this, they would simply destroy the annuoncement. This coupled with a price drop would be ridiculous. I just don't see how the FFVII remake could possibly happen.
 
hmm it will be really difficult for Sony to counter Microsoft after yesterday. But then again I think they knew beforehand what was going to happen, so they had time to prepare something. I hope they understand that God of War 3 isn't enough by a long stretch!
 
Zone of the Enders 3 has been mentioned alot in this thread, has their been any indication that it could be in development?

I think the issue is Jaffe didn't want to commit to a AAA development schedule. I'm still really pissed about Heartland :(

I know its a beloved franchise, but especially after the FF13 announcement, I want to see more wholly original content from Sony.
 
I think Sony has learned a lot since e3 2006 and no matter what their conference will be "Good" but we all
desperately need it to be amazing today.
 
 
Thank god I won't be at home when Sony's conference is on, wouldn't be able to take the impending suckage from their show in real time (as usual my pessimistic genes tell me this). Hoping for a surprise/MANY surprises though.
