Not really..maybe if one 'needs' message board ammunition. They just need to show their wares, simple as.

Hopefully they show what is coming out this fiscal year. Last year we saw what was going to be out a year later. Sony no more show us your cards for next year. I want to know what I'm goign to be playing this holiday and a few months beyonds, not next Christmas.

Appreciate you drilling this home gofreak but I think a lot of people are ignoring you. Not me though. I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Content" is king (ignore the obvious PSN analogy...).

I'm not mad at Square, they made the smart financial move. How many people questioned the viability of FF13 on such a small userbase? I mean, the PS3 is selling horribly in the one territory FF13 needs it to do its best, JP. SCEJ doesn't even know how to promote their machine, why should Square take that chance? I bet they'd much rather have built it for the Wii from the start, b/c it's not like porting to the 360 is gonna ensure them any great success either. The whole situation is tits-up, and I can't blame any dev for being skeptical of the PS3 at this point.

I don't even think FFXIII would have sold that much better if it were exclusive to the 360.

JRPG's have under performed for some time, and SE really had one chance to make FFXIII a viable product, and that was to make it multiplatform. With FOUR (read: 4) HD projects going on at the same time, they needed to maximize their revenue as much as possible.

I really think it had more to do with them waiting for Sony to either give them a shit load of money for exclusivity, or make the game multiplatform. Obviously we know which one happened.

It could be sold under the Warhawk model.

:(

As long as it still had a single player mode as well. I'd imagine that the next Tm will have a heavy online focus, I just hope they don't fully nix single player.

Well the Nintendo conference will start in a few mins. I guess we will see if they will be doing Kingdom Hearts III after all.

You know, I really can't get excited about anything they have to offer. At all. The last time we needed "games games games" we were given them, but almost 2 years on they're still months from release.

People keep comparing the 360 and PS3 based on titles alone, and when you do that, yes, the PS3 does appear to have nothing to worry about. But when you fast forward a year and almost all of those 360 titles are in shops and almost all of the PS3 titles are either in hiding or incomprehensibly delayed (LBP), you've got a problem.

SOCOM, Wipeout, LBP.. why aren't these games out yet? Titles far more ambitious and sophisticated are turned around on every other platform 100 times quicker. Everything from simple PSP ports to the big guns is delayed and delayed every time it gets within 3 months of release.

I'm seriously considering packing it all in for a decent PC. Microsoft is the biggest joke of a company on the planet, the Wii is 99% terrible mini game compilations, the only platform that interests me is the PS3 but I'm getting tired of reading about games, I'd rather play them kkthx?

Uh... I really hope its not Twisted Metal.

Jaffe went from Twisted Metal to God of War to Heartland to Calling All Cars to ... Twisted Metal? Sort of a lateral move if you ask me.

If you're going to go the small games route, do creative stuff like Patapon or PixelJunk Eden.
I think Jaffe said he was done with TM until they worked on the PS2 port. I assume that's why he went back to see what they could do with the series. Also, he said they weren't planning on going the small games route anymore since he wanted to let his team show off what they are capable of.

As a Twisted Metal fan, I'm happy about it.

I see lots of PS3 hype...but little PSP hype.

I was on the verge of trading mine in this week for an iTouch. Anyone else feel like this E3 will make or break the PSP?

I love the interaction with the PS3 and all, but I dunno. *sigh*

Woah there. Asides from being a complete exagerration (almost all...really?), LBP was only announced in GDC '07. It's being developed by a team of less than 30 people. 19 months from announcement to time to market is hardly indicative of a game suffering incomprehensible delays.

Hey I could be wrong no need to get upset about it.

I'm concerned too. All I can think of for the future is the star ocean remakes.

S'ok though, I have enough PSP games already to justify owning the machine.

ok, I was gonna stealth, but crap like this is more stupid than a rock.

LBP has NEVER BEEN DELAYED! It was just announced over a year and 3 months ago. Delay usually mean a release date was revealed, and then the release date was push back. GTA4 was delayed. LBP is not.

Almost all? only 360 game that's exclusive that's released is NG2...wait, i heard MGS4 is out too.

Is Too human out? is gears 2 out? is alan wake out?

Gah. don't bitch about games that take 2 years to make unless you walk a mile in a developer's shoes.

Hey, it doesn't hurt that most interesting 360 games (save NG2) will appear on the PC aswell! Might do the same as you, heh.

I really don't understand people like you.

The psp is already made. It has a great library of software and plenty more in the pipeline. I use mine for lots of other stuff too, e-book reading and 'net radio, etc. I literally do not leave home without my psp.

What are you guys expecting from the PSP anyways?

You're talking to the guy who was IGN's UMD Movie review editor for half a year. Don't give me a speech on the PSP! :p

It's not really the show that matters - they could announce a bunch of stuff that never materializes anyway. I think the remainder of this year is obviously important. App Store for the iPhone and the iPod Touch is probably going to gather momentum very quickly with such a massive start out of the gates. Sony has all the pieces in place to rival App Store, but they seemingly lack the will.

One announcement of multiplatformism and fairness and perspective goes out the facking window..I'm not sure how anyone with reasonably general taste in games can complain relatively about the PS3's content this year - thusfar, and through the rest of the year. If your PS3 hasn't been catering well to you this year so far, then again, assuming reasonably general taste I'm not sure how you've been getting by on the other home systems!

I'm not saying there aren't reasons, I'm just saying, when Sony is almost entirely relying on games that for whatever reason aren't going to be released until well after the 360 AAAs they were announced to compete with, there's a problem.

Still an MS platform buddy. :lol :lol :lol

I don't think it's the will. It's the something else. Don't know what. I won't say coherency cos Stringer has made all the right noises. When they're good they're really good... but when they're bad... sheesh.

But, P-VID-SN incoming may shut my yap for the rest of 2008 (not literally of course).

Word.

It has a great library, yes. But ever since Crisis Core came out, the release calendar has been a wasteland. PSP still has a ton of potential, and there's no reason it sound be slowing down. The horizon isn't looking good, especially if there aren't some solid announcements today.

Zip back last year and compare how many games Sony published and how many MS published. I think 360 had a better lineup then (by virtue of games like Bioshock, at least), but the numbers are comparable (if not actually better for Sony). You can't say Sony isn't getting titles out or that nearly all games are being pushed back. The games they released last year are the games they relied on then, just as the games they release this year are the games they'll rely on now.

I was mostly replying to the "fixing a great PC" part. I did that stupid topic yesterday where I said I'd perhaps sell my PS3, but it HAS served me well since I bought it. I'll definitely keep it and the games, so don't worry. ;)
