The Nostalgia Critic |OT| He Remembers It So You Don't Have To

RLM has ruined memories of Showbiz Pizza.

Man, I seriously dislike their site's player. Can't even load about 10 seconds at a time. Just load the entire damn video at once so I'm not watching about 15 seconds at a time on 360p.

Makes me miss blip. Might have to give in & just stick to the Youtube uploads.

OMG he talked about the
Segata Sanshiro
commercials.

Also I totally remember the
Pokemon
one when I was a kid.

OH GOD, I think someone on here linked to a related commercial when NC talked about the
Canadian Rape Whistle
commercial from a previous episode, & now it's here.

Edit: So I'm guessing next week will be another
Don Bluth
review?

That
Don Bluth
cameo!

I hope Doug has his tongue stick out of his mouth for a significant amount of time in honor of Bluth.

I never liked Bluth's animation style, and even in his work with Disney, I can spot his "contributions", but I know Doug is an admirer of the man, and Bluth does have talent, so this is great news.

That seem short to anyone else? Didn't feel like he watched many commercials.
I opened the video expecting a convenient way to kill fifteen minutes, and then said "Damn, it's half an hour" and sat down to watch it anyways. I think I would agree that it felt quicker than it was.

Was that a young Mila Kunis is that telephone doll commercial?
I was about to try and make a joke about how Kunis lied about her age and was jailbait when she got into acting, but then I googled the doll to try and see when it was made, and the top results on the doll are because Mila Kunis was in it's commercial.

I guess I'll go with:

Nostalgia Critic: "Hey girls. Ever wanted to talk on the phone with a toddler?"

"We're like soul mates, two year old who seems uncomfortably well-spoken."

I have similar trouble with the Cinemassacre site's player. Takes an age to load and only then in 144p with dreadful sound quality. :(

Usually I just download the video and play later, I can't do that to their new one while it is easy to do with blip :/

He did a pretty good job covering all the Disney Afternoon shows for the most part. My only nitpick is on the Mighty Ducks. Look, the show may have been pretty weird and a parallel dimension of anthropomorphic ducks who are obsessed with hockey does raise a few eyebrows, but the show itself wasn't too bad.

The only shows I didn't care for on the list:

- Quack Pack (I'm sure a good chunk of this is due to the damn voices for the trio)
- Timon and Pumba
- Bonkers (this is probably the one on this list that I might have enjoyed if I watched it)
- Schnookums and Meat (too reminiscient of Ren and Stimpy, which I fucking hated)

I'm actually surprised SaM is an actual show in US. Here it aired as a mini-segment during Marsupilami... and speaking of which, Marsupilami wasn't considered as part of Disney Afternoon in US?

And yeah, maybe because I am fond of shows like Street Sharks and the like, but I thought MD was pretty average.

I love the Dragon's Lair (and 2 and Space Ace) ports have a "movie" mode where you can simply just watch.

With that said Dragon's Lair 2 >>>>>>>>> 1.

He's channeling classic AVGN with this review. Dragon's Lair is classic arcade design mentality though, it was designed to take every quarter the player had through almost impossible memorization. Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp is a better game though and it is really creative.

Obvious pitch video for Don Bluth, but one of the better Nostalgia Critic videos that I have seen in recent memory.

Just had a quick peak, and I'm thinking that as well (though AVGN reviewed the NES version rather than the arcade one). That review is hilarious :D

Disneycember has begun!
He'll be covering the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, and stuff he hasn't given the Disneycember treatment yet (like Inside Out, Tomorrowland, and The Good Dinosaur)

First video is Iron Man

Critic: "If every one of my fans chips in just a couple of bucks, we can make the Dragon's Lair movie happen."

Indiegogo: "Your contributions will be spent to produce a four-minute pitch video... A presentation which will encourage investors to provide financing of our budgeted 70 million dollars for us to produce Dragon’s Lair... Within this four minute pitch video, our team will also create one full minute of classical animation."
