There is one in-joke from an NPC that I felt was a little tasteless though.
a carpenter who wants to make a bar, and you suggest the name Seventh Heaven. He then imagines a bar where the waitress is a young girl "with a big bosom, and long legs. a real killer body!" and an underground hideout for Anti Shinra people to hide in.
Kind of makes it sound like Tifa was only recruited into Avalanche for her body, instead of fighting skill, or maybe I'm just reading into it.

Is there like a new game+ mode here? I think I'll sell this away before PAL-release but if there is a mode like that, then the save data isn't compatible.

the game is finally getting interesting. I manage to get more missions but are most normal though? I want it all Hard ;(

I played a bit of this yesterday (in between my first sessions of multiplayer MHF2) and it is great so far. Even on easy it seems far from a button masher. Zack is already one of my favorite FF heroes.

Is it odd that I've only completed the second main mission but I've already done 10% of the sidequests? For some reason, I just can't stop doing them...
Am I playing the game the right way?
Also, am I the only one who's really fucking annoyed that I've got dozens of materia and a dozen items, yet I can only equip 4 materia and 2 items? I hope this expands Lost Odyssey-style, because it's really annoying having so many things that I just can't use.

You'll get more Hard and Very Hard missions if you do them as the game goes along. All the label means is that the monsters tend to be a certain level.

Got through a whole load of crap in the past two days. So far, I just got past
Bahamut Fury. What the crap? Isn't he supposed to be Neo Bahamut?

Cloud cross-dressing will look a little weird with normal/realistic sized character models. Unless the decide to go super deformed again... which still made him look awkward, haha.

Taking it slow but enjoying it. I'm just after the
fight and only 7% missions (mostly a couple scenarios in full sequence including Very Hard missions).
I like the DMW system well enough as an entertaining and defining part of this one game, but I wouldn't to see it again after this. Case in point, I replayed that first
fight just for fun...but the second time I got a level up and two materia level-ups when the first try gave neither. Minimal sense of gaming achievement there.
Audio and visuals are impressive. Zack comes off nicely so far as an agreeable hero. Also at times looks to me like a morph of junior Tom Welling/Chris Cornell in cg.
Not coincidentally, I started replaying FF7 as well, and it is neat seeing some references crossing over between the games. I happen to be right in the middle of that (in)famous comic-relief scenario being referenced by others right now.

I played on normal because I just want to play through the story and don't have time to bother with hard battles. Most of the game IS really easy, though I did die once in one of the ending battles and had a couple close calls. The majority of my random battles ended in 5-10 seconds.
<shrug> I don't really care if the game is easy.
