I think a full blowout is basically impossible ... but seeing several high budget AAA fested with DEI/woke elements from major studios just completely flopping at this rate.. is something unprecedented (I think) , WB- suicide squad , Ubsoft- outlaws , Sony- Concord, just to name a few... shit ubisoft just posponed in 6 months their almost done new Assassins Creed most probably because it was not achieving pre-sales targets together with the bad reputation already between gamers.... yes each of them had multiple reasons for failing .. but the common ground is heavily DEI influence and not listening to feedback.

I haven't heard about Hit Detection in a long time but a lot of people will be familiar with Jeff Green from 1UP/CGW/GFW fame and who consulted (or still does) for the firm and how I'm assuming a lot of us were introduced to the firm the first place. The idea was to take experienced media professionals and give them access to builds of a game throughout the development process and evaluate how that game would be received critically which would then let studios course correct or polish a game in the hopes of making a better game that would be received better critically and hopefully commercially. My knowledge of the company comes long before the current culture war so I'm not sure what their involvement in projects is these days.

The DEI developers were hired years ago, but because of how long it takes to make games, only now are the games released.
Now these devs are shit at making games, but only now does that fact became public. The decisions were made 6 years ago or so and it is too late to pivot.

So what we are watching is a mass car-crash as each woke game was launched and died. They are still being released because it is too late to pull the breaks. Although one could argue that you are better off eating the losses and not release the games at all.
