No, I can't remember any movie with Tom Cruise that has been good. The man is a terrible actor. Nicholas Cage at least has a sense of humor about it.
Legend, Edge of Tomorrow, A few good Men, Top Gun. He's been in more good movies than 99 percent of actors.
Rain Man, Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia, Days of Thunder, Interview with a Vampire...
"testosterone laden ode to toxic Masculinity"
The OG Top Gun was gay as fuck, proper homoerotic. The sequel will be fine doubling down on that and still not break canon.

Oblivion wasn't half-bad eitherIronically Top Gun Maverick is made by the guy who directed that GIF.

I agree, I really want it to be true thoughTypical over-the-top praises for a movie everyone just screened for free months ahead of everyone else. I put absolute 0 stock in anything these tweets ever say.

Tom Cruise annoys the hell out of me but has been in a lot of good movies.
Good movies not yet mentioned are Cocktail and Vanilla Sky. The Firm isnt a great movie but also not a bad one either. Also consider the rest of the MI movies even if not as good as part 1.
Oh me too, I’m hyped for the movie, definitely watching in IMAX as well.I agree, I really want it to be true though
Funny you mention Cocktail as a good Tom Cruise film. Personally, I love Cocktail and think it's a decent 80s cheese flick, but the film was ripped apart by critics when it was originally released. Its RT score is an unbelievable 7%!
He was pretty good in The Last Samurai, Interview With The Vampire and Far and Away. No, I can't remember any movie with Tom Cruise that has been good. The man is a terrible actor. Nicholas Cage at least has a sense of humor about it.
Why do these early twitter movie impressions always read like ad copy written by the studio?
Why do these early twitter movie impressions always read like ad copy written by the studio?
because the studio gives them recommended talking points.
I used to get invites to movies when I was at my former workplace and reviewed movies. I gave a couple bad reviews and STILL got invited back for other movies. So no, that's false.
When me and a buddy of mine were trying to get back in shape a few years ago we called it the year of "Ripped like Rick Rossovich."
I've seen evidence of it happening, sure it's not 100% of the time but influencers have been guided in the past.
Best scene in the movie.
