Not shocking. Gamepass was obviously going to cut into PC and Xbox sales. Still cannot believe that anyone took that “Gamepass increases sales” bullshit seriously ever.
Now it’s just a question of if however many new subscriptions there were will stick, or if Microsoft has just provided a discount where the game lasts a month or 2. If Starfield is any indication, it’ll be the latter.

According to the NintendoBase Forum, the total number of COD BO6 games sold in the UK is 450k, with about 315k been the PS5 version.

All we know is the game "set a record for new Game Pass subscriber additions on launch day".
Let's say the previous record was 1 million in a single day... what's the new record? 10 million? 1.1 million?
I guess we will have to wait a few weeks until more information comes out, but if we don't hear MS themselves give an update on GP subscribers numbers I don't think they got the result they were expecting.

It's due to this tweet from ERALTD, which provided us with the actual unit sales for BO6 in the UK. I guess Astral_lion02 on Install Base has adjusted his unit sales estimates based on this new data and the percentages provided by Cris Dring on his podcast. The link in the OP now points to this new, more accurate data anyway.
A mod should update both the outdated information in the OP and the thread title to reflect this change.

This is the biggest market for Xbox outside of US. Also, per MS own guidance, they are expecting Xbox revenues to stay flat during the CoD release quarter. Now I can see why.

Yeah, that's a steep drop, no doubt.
This could be more of a waning interest in COD vs just a reduction in Xbox sales. Or perhaps it's both, but I'm thinking that Microsoft expected at least some sort of drop, particularly if it meant Game Pass saw and maintained an uptick.

Right now Game Pass is hurting software sales on Xbox but if Microsoft is successful in creating the Netflix of gaming it could benefit games in the post physical media era when people are not willing to pay $60 for a download.

Xbox sales were always going to be down anyway, but for the sake of your crying, lets add "lets hope new xbox subscribers also stay subbed for 4 months."

As discussed in another thread, the real loss of sales is measured by the people that already had gamepass and normally would purchase the game every year. These people will be a complete loss of a sale now. I highly doubt anyone that only plays cod all year will sub to gamepass, as it would literally make it more expensive than just buying the game full price.
