Dumb ass comment. I‘ve spent time living in far North Queensland where it’s the same weather you get. It’s easy when you have air con everywhere, and every building is designed to cope with it. High humidity or not, very, very high temps in the UK feel much worse.
You and everyone else saying stuff like this would be moaning like mad if you had freak cold weather… and no central heating to cope with it.
Really? So i can hope for an hot august without fucking rain and wind everyday?Jup netherlands also hot as fuck, hope next 2 days i don't need to do some serious work because holy shit.
Hot tips:
-shorts, no socks, sandals during the days
-windows and curtains closed seems to help during he day
-at night all windows and doors open for airflow, i have nets on bedroom windows so the bugs piss off
-sleep fully naked
-sleep without a duvet
-sleep with just a cooling mattress protector
-sleep a bit later as the temp starts cooling quickly from around 10pm and at 1am will be much cooler
-cold shower before bed or dip hands, feet and face in cold water as it cools the body down

I tend to just ignore anyone who denies climate change these days. Given the weight of evidence, and the opinion of the vast majority of the scientific community (who don’t care about dumb fucking politics), it’s clearly real… and anyone who actually understands the world outside their own little bubble, and doesn’t just pay attention to their social media feeds, knows it.
No.This is happening almost every year now, isn't it? We're fucked.
Sorry, I thought this was the UK heat wave thread. Maybe the title needs to change if it’s the world we are referring to.Good job that this is a totally isolated incident, and no other extreme weather events are happening across the world at an increased pace

Mate I’m just commenting on it being hot for 2 days in the UK that’s all and it being referenced to Armageddon.It's not an isolated incident in the UK. We're dealing with an increasing amount of extreme weather events right here all the time. Just like the rest of the world. Luckily, we are in a (usually) very temperate climate, and the extremes are easier to deal with than for people living in less stable climate conditions.

It’ll be raining tomorrow and it won’t be mentioned again.
Dont bother, you might as well be telling a believer God doesn't exist (or vice versa).Mate I’m just commenting on it being hot for 2 days in the UK that’s all and it being referenced to Armageddon.

Actually, if as expected the hottest day record falls today it'll be mentioned every time we get hot weather until we get an even hotter day.Mate I’m just commenting on it being hot for 2 days in the UK that’s all and it being referenced to Armageddon.

Fuck me.Doubt it, u get like 3-4 days nice weather max here then its rain straight after it.
Oh look at that
vandaag = today
morgen = tommorow
donderdag = day after tommorow.
Fuck me.
Is the amsterdam airport still in shit condition or they have improved in the last month?
I hope to meet you when i'm gonna be there in 3 weeks from now.Netherlands basically has UK climate, u just gotta be lucky with weather here, i must say it has been very good the last few months, little rain, a day or so within a week, maybe august is the same. About the airport i dunno if there was any issue's with it to start with. I do have to travel to canada most likely in 2 months from now, so i hope that's sorted out then.
heat back end of juli .. August another 40 degreesDoubt it, u get like 3-4 days nice weather max here then its rain straight after it.

So an average Aussie summer?

People are too far gone in the hysteria. They lap it up like it's their WWIII. I mean fucking hell we had one poster in here complaining about the weather when it was 24° over where they live.
And spring/autumn in Dubai.
Granted, I wouldn't want to do it without AC which is the situation for most in the UK.
My solution for now, but will pick a mobile aircon unit if this keeps up...
Honestly it sucks all round haha.
Sadly, this one never works in the UK very well, because the hot weather tends to mean the wind dies completely at night.

Don’t forget even U.K. windows are designed to keep the heat in.I live in a country that's regularly this hot, we all have air conditioning and buildings that are designed to make heat escape. Why would people in a country that isn't regularly this hot, where air conditioning isn't standard, and buildings are designed to keep heat in have any problems with the same situation?
Every time.
...and it'll be winter in a few months. That doesn't take away from the fact that this is by far the hottest day ever, and temps in general are going up every year.It’ll be raining tomorrow and it won’t be mentioned again.

Comments like this are hilarious to me, given how much Australians complain when it’s unseasonably cold
For the avoidance of doubt:
40 in Australia is like 30 in the UK.
10 in Australia is like 0 in the UK.
