I paid a visit to the two Games and the Gamestation in my area. The "Spring Clean" was on and the stores were busier than normal, but overall it seemed business as usual - the staff were in a good mood and the shelves were arranged to give the illusion of plenty of stock (they were emptier than usual, but to a passing/casual customer they'd look OK).
They had some new PC games in from smaller publishers, and they had coming soon/pre-order boxes up for a some of the big titles due next month.
I picked up a few random 2.98 games that were on my list of "I'd be embarrassed to buy this at full price" titles - mostly Disney movie adaptations - they always intrigue me, but I always end up regretting buying them in the end. Also nabbed a second copy of Gears 3 (the full box for £9, not the 48p not for resale, sadly), and Casino Royale on Blu Ray for £3.98.
I've said this in every thread to do with Game, but I want my local branches to survive. I like the staff, their prices are usually decent (not the best, but I am willing to accept £1 or £2 more for the convenience of knowing they'll have the games I want - it would cost me more than that to travel to the next nearest "good" shop), and their selection is miles better than anywhere else in the area.
