Nope, not just you. Also Liam Neeson, Jeremy Renner, Banderas and Oberyn Martell (GoT) have been mentioned.
He can be all your fantasies combined lol

On another site someone mentioned Craig Fairbrass (English bad guy in Cliffhanger):

I wonder when we'll find out who will be doing the performance capture for Nate?

So I'm the only one who isn't even a little bit shocked by these graphics?

I think the PS4 can actually pull off photorealistic graphics with enough coding tricks, everything about the PS4 APU & Memory says to me that it could be programmed to take short cuts and achieve the look of what's being done with path tracing/ray tracing.

Why would he say anything different? Honest question. When you look at Ubisoft, they never wanted to admit the downgrade of WD. I'm not saying ND are like Ubisoft but my point is developers will say whatever to make possible customers happy. People, just be neutral on this until you see actual gameplay with "ingame graphics."

Has it not always been The Noble Nolan himself?

Stop doubting the Gods. And never compare them with Ubisoft.

The initial reveal was real-time though right?

The thing is, people want to see what the console is capable of, and considering there is enough power inside the PS4, you can show something quite impressive. You make a bigger impact if you show something impressive in real-time.

Eh, you can never be sure, though? (to quote myself)
That's the whole reason this thread even exists, actually.
But anyway yes, it seems your natural assumption has turned out to be right.

4x and even 8x MSAA leaves alot of jaggies

Maybe, depending on the game but nothing comparable to relying simply on SMAA with no other AA option. In Arma 3 I run SMAA ultra with 4x AA from the ingame option with 133% scaled resolution from 1080p which makes it 1440p downsampled and I don't see any jaggies.

No shit?

What in the blue fuck does that have to do with the thread? Get this PC horse shit out of here.

It would be a great way to side step the ~Order 1886 has no multiplayer component~ issue for a lot of people.
I know, right? It makes so much sense, especially given that attaching a beta of a major established franchise with a new IP generally works out quite well.

what is this with post?

they are discussing potential aa solutions since people can't see jaggies in the trailer

come the fuck on
Yeah, so that's why we need to hear about his rig's specs, yeah?

Come the fuck on

On topic, I'm hopeful that the game's graphics will be at least this good when it released. ND is a very talented group.

Does this mean the next Tomb Raider will be 1080p/60fps and be the last one, too?!

Interesting interpretation.

Not sure if serious but anyway:
Core Design had enough of Lara, wanted to end the series with 4, literally
killed her off
... Cue Tomb Raider 5 :)

I didn't see his rigs specs. Someone posted something about MSAA...he/she said he gets great results from simply using SMAA. You got offended for no real reason.

EDIT- Last page....still quite the overreaction since they were speaking of AA solutions.

Hopefully Bluepoint is handling that remaster. Can't see ND taking another year to remaster 3 more of their games.

This would make sense, and I'm sure they would do a great job on it. Even the game selection menu would be a work of art like in the MGS HD collection.

I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Some of you guys are completely losing the plot in here, Jesus Christ.

Is it even questionable if the word came out from the devs mouth? I mean, even if technically the game doesnt end up looking as good as that outside of cutscenes, I think ND has set a pretty high standard for graphics when you look at their PS3 games, so I think its pretty safe to say that it will at least look very close to that in the end.

Obviously it is expect that people are making a big deal out of this, but I think the result is going to be nothing less than an amazing looking game despite all the controversy going on surrounding this statements. Time will tell I guess.

please explain in detail how the PS4 APU and memory can simulate path tracing so durante can come in here and explain in detail why we should all be laughing at you.

Well, you can never be sure, though.
Even Killzone SF had fmvs (with no visible improvements over gameplay grafx, however). And since it's been common practice with ND up until now, I for one didn't expect it to be anything else at first.

This is the first time I'm hearing this (FMVs in shadowfall, I don't remember it being mentioned anywhere or even in Digitalfoundry)

Doesn't shadow fall use some sort of Ray tracing for its reflections/lighting? Also, I remember you talking to a brigade developer? He said something about how the ps4 might be able to do whitted style ray-tracing but not the full blown implementation of course.

I believe everything though the in-game part is iffy, I understand if it was a cut-scene model. Hopefully they fix Drake face, he looks kind of homely now

Load a chapter -> Cutscene starts immediately -> you must wait to skip it until level has loaded. (that's also probably the only reason for the cutscenes to be videos - to mask the loading)
But don't worry, that impressive flying-over-the-city scene is all in-game. It's mostly between chapters.

A "single PS4?"

Wait a second- is it possible to run games on more than one console at a time?
Nd had render farm made from 8 ps3 to render their cutscenes at much higher res and image quality. But I don't think you can play the game in that setup, just render cutscenes.

Would be awesome though, I'd probably buy a second ps4 if I can stack them and play ps4 games on 1080p 60fps better AA setting. Lol

This should totally be implemented at a firmware level lol
