Uncharted 4 Trailer runs in-engine, in-game, in realtime on a single PS4 at 1080p60

In game, in a real level, on a single ps4. Doesn't get any clearer than that. Already found to be 1080P with tells that it's in engine and realtime.

There is nothing to dispute here.

They're going to get Last of Us running even faster than this.

This isn't Turn 10 here. Won't suddenly be cardboard 2D trees.

Thank you.

The replies in here, man.

This displeases me greatly, unless its God of War in name only

Huh. Interesting.

So he assembled an "Ocean's 11" developer crew to work on God of War?

Well, I hope they do what's necessary to make GoW into the next big thing --- open world action adventure RPG which the killer animations/mechanics/set pieces we've come to love from the GoW franchise....

Wat. Would GOW benefit from open world? I doubt they would deviate that far.

Greatly. The series is already similar to a linear version of Zelda. Take the next big step...make it open world.

Something similar to Zelda (hub world with "dungeons" that serve to progress the story), but with a badass protagonist and awesome action combat with an RPG style progression system.

Keep God of War linear, but go completely nuts with it.

Not just jumping to the Egyptian or Norse pantheon -- COMBINE them. Go crazy. Bring in death and angels, Thor and the Sphinx, jumping through time, through locations, everything.

Go. Crazy. What made the series great was how it just kept upping the ante and being ridiculous fun. The next step shouldn't just be a sideways hop to a new character and/or setting; It should be a complete leap into everything at the same time. I want to see the skies open and have Jörmungandr battle Anubis and Osiris while you ride on the back of the Sphinx.

Not sure if want. Some of the puzzles in GOW: A made me want to see them try their hand at a Zelda style game but I would prefer a new IP for that. I enjoy God of War for what it already is.

I don't want just another God of War game. There's already....6 games that are practically the same exact formula.

I want the next big step in the series. Replace the protagonist. Change the setting and lore, perhaps. Shake up the mechanics.

The VGA reveal started with the same phrasing as the UC4 reveal "directly captured on a..." That led many people to believe it's realtime.
Oh, I forgot about that.

Yeah, not really going in expecting Uncharted 4 to look THAT great afterall, and if it does then that's a pleasant surprise.

Already 6 games, I want 7. It's not as if character action games like GOW are in abundance.

You guys think there was any chance Jonathan Cooper got a chance to work on the UC4 teaser? Or was he too new?

If that's his animation work in the teaser - DAMN - Naughty Dog poached the right guy, for sure.

ND is giving me the Apple feels, just in terms of them recruiting best in class talent to come in and collaborate on awesome shit. And like Apple, they have their haters too. Doesn't subtract from the fact that they make world class products.

That was definitely mocap, Naughty Dog does all their facial animation without an ounce of mocap though, which is scary impressive considering how good they come out. I also like it this way cause it they can really express their style in it, and allows them to go for more exaggerated expressions that mocap can't hit. Really neat stuff.

I can't wait to see what SSM does on PS4.

Same here for sure.

I don't care if they change the protagonist or not(though I'd prefer if they did), but I agree, GoW needs a new formula. Would love to see more open areas, less linearity and more weapons variety, not just chain blades with different skins.

ND is still using hand animations even for faces? They are insane.
They "only" use hand animations for faces(when it comes to character animations), they use mo-cap for everything else.

Trust in Barlog.

I seriously hope its a GoW-style game in a different setting with a new protagonist.

Different setting would be welcome, but I prefer to continue with Kratos, or at least a similar character in nature, as I liked to play as the antithesis of a usual hero. It brought variety, considering that the majority of games are lead by do-gooders trying to save the world.
