If it makes you feel better, I had to do a mission 4 times to turn Michlett into a fencer to get an AttkX.

Not that it was toooo hard, but I killed every single V2, and Dirk, but somehow my characters are still acting like they're impressive. A small group of 6 year olds rip through them all, yet the freaking rebels still act like they are the next stage of warfare! Come on!

I hate hate hate hate HATE in games when your actions in a battle have absolutely nothing to do with the events following it. If a character is supposed to be godly, don't make them beatable! Make it one of those instances where it's a hopeless fight and after you lose, the story progresses from there. Or just make the guy an unbeatable obstacle to go around Don't make me beat a boss and have story progress as if they were the one that won.

Not sure if the second paragraph needed to be spoilered, but I'd rather be safe than a jerk.

I started the game, and I am about one hour or two hours in. The gameplay is aces as usual. But the script and voice acting goes beyond what I had feared. I am even pretty open minded about stupid high school drama. It's not my cup of tea and i'll probably cringe a lot, but I can go through it/

But this, it's just so disgustingly bad, it's giving me major gamer guilt. As in, how can I be nearing my thirties and still play this. It's so bad it's making me hate all videogames.
I don't know how to proceed. And now I read about game mechanics (certificates/diplomas, whatever they are) being annoying, I am increasingly thinking i won't bother finishing it, and perhaps flip a coin to see if i should quit this hobby altogether.

Open the Menu, choose Retire. It'll send you back to the Academy before the mission started.

This I am unsure of, as I would guess it would at least have to take place after the big August reveal. Just looking at my tank when I got her first story, it was at level 10 (which I didn't even realize it leveled up. Then again, the second part of her story does cover some end month spoilers, so I am sure you could get it early, I just noticed her story straight away on my new game+. (Bare in mind, assuming you can get it early, her mission is a 3 star challenge, and does require some care, but like I said, well worth it =p)

The Background page of your squad stats only shows approx the last 20 entries. There are also titles to earn from failing missions a number of times (I got "Persistant" for 5x).

So if you're like me and stupid enough to forget to bring an Armoured Tech (or someone that can remove mines) into your group for a mine-heavy mission, I've discovered that Mortarers are highly resistant to blast damage and can thus make a decent substitute. :lol

It is not like it is giving me a lot of trouble, I just want to get rid of the boss first because he makes the map more difficult than it should be.

Also, you can bait him pretty easily. He'll waste CP to go re-cap a camp over attacking people. You can basically play ping pong with him.

I like Marion, she is one of my favorite characters. I loved

finding out that she was a weapons freak since and I think it is great when juxtaposed with her kind and gentle princess-like personality. Characters like her make for more interesting cast members, it is a pity that she is relegated to a secondary character. I wish that she could have been more of a primary character.

Of the entire cast, my list of favorites so far are Cosette, Anisette, Marion, Zeri, and Aliasse. The last one has a certain childlike innocence that is pretty interesting when compared to her

Base Engineers honestly aren't that good. But Medics and Melodists are awesome.

15 -20 minutes for most, stretching on to half an hour for the longest ones.

I have to do one more key quest in October to get the story mission. I had to redo everything I did in the JP version because saves couldn't be converted, but now I'm past where I was back then.

I won't be finished before the 16th, I still have one last work befoe getting my degree so I have to concentrate on that ^^

Im on October as well. I cleared up all of of Septembers missions yesterday and have two paid missions to do today before starting October. My plan is to have this beat by Thursday and at the rate Im going, its pretty possible.

38 hours in btw. Im a little shocked that I put that much time into it. I think my completed VC1 save was only at 31 or something.

Just did this fight yesterday.
My Fencer couldn't get close enough to him to do damage without him turning around (and ducking).
Did get one flamethrower shot off with the Utility APC that took off a chunk of health, then brought Marina in. She took off about 1/3 of his health with one headshot. (I keep trying to get another sniper, but Avan is the only person who has the credits for it, and he's too valuable in the character missions to limit his shots/range.) After a number of other attempts were dodged, I think I finished him off with a grenade.
(The game appears to have fixed the problem of crouched/crawling characters not taking the right amounts of grenade damage, as opposed to enemy lancers apparently smothering grenades in VC1.)

After a solid run of A/B ranked missions, I was able to get through most of the classmate missions I have available, including

semi-creepy one. I find myself now trying to start using the rest of Class G more often just to try and trigger their character missions....except Vicky of course.

It's almost code for 'be sure to include a lancer, because there's going to be a tank and/or turret around the next corner.' Pretty much, if you choose the wrong people for that deployment, you have to either retreat them, or find a hiding spot until your teammates can come in and bail you out.
