I don't know why the gyro camera control in Nintendo Land is a thing, it's so pointless. Maybe there's a certain "wow" factor when you move the pad to look around, but you should be able to toggle it off at least.

lol, I find it so bizarre that people are actually distracted by the GamePad screen. Is it so difficult to just look at one screen and not the other? o_O

I guess everyone has different sensitivities to this stuff, so I'm not going to assume anything.

When playing on the big screen, why should the bottom display be wasting unnecessary power by showing the exact same stuff twice?
I get that it's neat when games do something else with the screen but just showing an identical stream from the main feed is completely useless and wasteful.

And we don't seem to have the fire sale on flingsmash that some from the US are taking advantage of.
It's not just the US, I bought mine in France for 8€. But you need luck (in fact, each time I visit a supermarket, I look at the VG section, they have sometimes weird prices to clear the stocks) and maybe it wasn't overshipped where you live.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think it'd be great if you could turn it off (I thought you could until someone said pressing a button turns it back on), but people have specifically cited it being "distracting" which is pretty weird to me, that's all.

Is the Rayman demo out ANYWHERE? =(

I don't think so:

You can turn off that camera tilt in the settings in Nintendo Land
Are you sure? Where? "Camera" is about displaying the picture of the front-facing camera in games.

OMG what happened:

I was quitting out of Wii emulation mode in my Wii U and I got that screen. I had to turn off the console with the power button. But once it rebooted everything works fine, including Wii mode.

Nintendo's Pro Bono PR Firm
I have Zombi U, NSMU, Nintendo Land, Trine 2, Nano Assault Neo, Chasing Aurora and 3 wiimotes.

It's an amazing launch lineup, I'm so happy with what I'm playing.

The GamePad is a game changer, I can't put it down, switching from game to game, to neogaf, to miiverse. It's totally addicting.

And this console has a soul. From the extra sound coming out of the speakers, to people comments and drawings showing up in the plaza and in my games...

Wii U, I'm in love with you.

Wii U is like the scariest console to use ever, the only thing it missing is a green ring that turns red
hope they fix all the crazy bugs soon?

I'm fearful my box will explode at anytime :p

ok, i fel dumb now. how do i setupthe wifi in wii mode to do the transfer?

it always boots me back to wiiu mode. i guess i've missed something here.

So, Nintendo Network ID's are linked to the console? If I created a new ID/username on my current console, I wouldn't be able to use that ID on a different console?

Well it's only 90% true, if you send your console back to Nintendo for repairs the new one you will get is able to use your old NNID and decativate it on your old console.

From what I heard you have to download the Wii U Transfer Utility on your original Wii and have a SD card ready.

That's not reasonable, though: Whenever I have a defective product that is within the two years of warranty by law, I'm going to be dealing with the seller, not the manufacturer of the product. Most retailers, in my experience, often directly exchange the product for a new one if the fault is obvious and obviously not my fault.

In that case, no transfer will be possible. Nintendo needs to enable a real account system with their cloud saves solutions, this is pretty unacceptable in 2012.

nah yeah, that's all set and done. to start the whole process i have to insert the sd card in the wiiu, and download sometransfare data. and for that i need some drops of interwebs. but i can't for the love of god find any way to do that!

it always brings me back to the wii u menu. and the internwt settings there are only for wiiu, there is no wii paragraph.

*sigh*

Nintendo's Account shenanigans can be sorted out with an OS update, right? It's cumbersome and one of my two gripes with the system at the mo. Hope they're quick to "fix" it.

Well I agree it's pretty backwards and user-unfriendly in 2012 no doubt and Nintendo should really fix it fast yeah :/0 Though it should atleast ease some fear users had about losing their purchased content in a case of a brick. I have a theory actually but until some brave soul tests it we won't know for sure... My theory is that the send-back console wasn't anything special but that any uninitialized Wii U can claim a NNID, that would solve most issues and would make sense actually but like said until someone tests this we won't know.

Oh okay then I can't help you sadly as I haven't done this yet myself :(

Can 2 accounts be signed in at the same time?

At this time no sadly not :(

Well I hope they sort this shit out promptly as there is no excuse or reason for that. It's only a hindrance to users.

There is, it's not the answer anyone wants to hear, is all.

That can easily be explained away once 3DS gets NNID access. Doing this was a conscious decision by Nintendo, not some oversight. The only hope is the outcry makes them change their mind, but I've never viewed Nintendo as one to bend to such criticisms.

Meaning this may change, maybe, but don't expect it any time soon.

That depends... if the reason that I think they did it is this way is true, would you willingly sacrifice the Deluxe Digital Promo to make it happen?

You can turn off that camera tilt in the settings in Nintendo Land

WHERE?! I looked in options, it didn't show that.

I really regret getting the deluxe. I did as far back as a couple of days after preordering it but by that time Gamestop had no basics available for me to switch my preorder over to. I even put up a trade notice in the buy/sell/trade thread but I'm apprehensive about getting rid of it due to my VC library.

Nintendo could have made this all so easy, but they didn't. And I realize it's as easy as simply keeping the deluxe, but the fingerprints are driving me nuts and the white color just looks so much better IMO.

Haven't messed around with that myself, but I'd figure it would just use the same information for both--I believe that's how the 3DS does it as well (the connections set up on the 3DS are automatically used, even in DS mode). Plus, if you go to System Settings --> Internet --> Connect to the Internet --> Connections, it should show both a Wii U and a Wii logo next to the connections you have set up, so I just figure that means it's the same for both.

Oh, just found out that you can select the single Miis in WaraWara Plaza. Cool, but should've known it. Miiverse might be getting a big deal. It's already so much fun to just lurk on it.

Yeah, I probably would have bought a basic if I could do it again.

The fingerprints on the game pad wouldn't be an issue if it were just the same matte black plastic that's on the back. its only the front face plate that is stupid glossy. The digital promotion is kind of pointless to me now that I know purchases are tied to the console. I'm not buying anything on the eshop until they fix it, which could be never. Nintendoland isn't really a must play game either. The gamepad charger stand is nice though.

Yep. Oh how I wish the entire gamepad and even console were matte instead of plastic. It would make a world of difference. I may hold onto my deluxe under the assumption that a better revision will be out in a couple of years, and maybe by then there will be a way to switch our shit over to a new one.

I mean, I'm personally seeing a pretty nice revision coming to the game pad at the very least, in the same way the DS phat was to the DS Lite. If by then Nintendo will let us carry our stuff over (and VC games) I would be very happy about that.

Have Nintendo mentioned when they'll be rolling out Miiverse and eShop access to other devices yet? Every time I pick up my iPad I want to check Miiverse on it.

Unless I've just made that up. That was a thing being talked about, right?

It'll probably be out sometime next year.

It's not the same game (mostly Fifa 12 engine with a few enhancements), it's not the same content (no Ultimate Team online functionality).

Get the 360/PS3 version.

Yep, it's a markedly inferior game.

I was surprised at how much uglier it is, too. A distinctly 'rough and ready' port.

Well they could just hold out on selling standalone game pads for awhile until they have a revision. They could increase the battery or make the screen better.

Hopefully they do a new color bundle like they have with the wii a few times. I bought a matte arcade 360 and put a 250gb HDD in it just for the matte color and no stupid chrome bits.

Well, whatever they do I'm sure it will be sooner rather than later, as Nintendo wastes no time getting revisions out there.

I have the blue HOME button LED 'on' in the menu, but I have never actually seen it light up. I am worried it doesn't work.....

The system is flawless for the rest btw. I have no friends yet, no notifications other then some Miiverse likes....(the orange notification in the Miiverse menu)

It goes blue when someone on your friend list comes online.

It's a bit of a pointless feature atm since it flashes so quickly. A notification on screen (showing who it is) would be better.
