No, I mean specific cards for games. Japan has codes for Animal Crossing e.g.
That's still JP-only if I'm not mistaken, there's not such thing here in the U.S. either.

Just ordered Sonic Racing from ozgameshop for $46! That site is so fantastic for Australians, can't recommend it enough. Approx 2 weeks shipping, but the savings are usually worth it. Sometimes Kmart or BigW will have a similar deal for popular titles, but most of the time it's the cheapest.
I'm really excited! I always sink so many hours into kart-style racing games, especially when they're online. And plus they always create great local multiplayer memories. After watching a few videos and reading reviews, it just looks like it'll be a blast. The graphics and levels look so good. I doubt I'll play as anyone other than Vyse, too
Yeah, looks like I can get $10 off my next order now, as I've bought from them a few times before. Pretty great.Yeah, I totally recommend ozgameshop.com as well. They have a pretty good rewards system too.
It's been a bit less than 12 hours since I started using the Wii U, but thus far my experience has been fantastic. At this point, some of the impressions I've heard from various gaming media outlets seem a little too harsh.
At purchases on the e-shop still tied to the console or an account?
Basically, if my wiiu breaks and amazon exchange it are my purchases lost?
Thanks.
I just set up my console this morning. Took less then 1 hour to download/install the update, set up my account and various settings, and update/start playing NSMBU. I guess I waited just long enough for things to get smoothed over enough. Knowing to not sit around and wait for the update was a big help too, I got plenty of other stuff done while it did it's thing.

If I was a Japanese Nintendo fan, I would be PISSED that the WiiU came out in the US, Europe, Australia and even New Zealand before it came out in it's home country.
so Nintendo Direct on eShop? Is this the first time the Nintendo Directs went on eShop or did the 3DS have them?
Before the end of the month is about all we know. Hopefully some time this half of it.Do we know when Nintendo TVii is coming yet?
yeah, didn't work sorry... :-/
the 3DS has them, but i never watched one on the 3DS so i cannot tell you if there is the complete ND or just part of it
Is Bic Camera (Tokyo) still taking preorders? My Amazon preorder was cancelled and I successfully preordered a unit at Shibuya Tsutaya but would prefer Bic or Yodobashi because of the points and earlier collection time.I've got a pre-order at Bic Camera, which should be opening at 8 am. When the 3DS was released, I tried picking it up at Geo right as midnight struck, but was denied until the opening of business the following morning.

I tested it with Mario. Can't see how it would work on any other game. Are you sure? Gonna test this with ZombiU and a new Mii.

it's up to the dev
NSMBU has a unified system (3 save slots across all accounts)
Zombi U has a save for each account
Nintendoland has a single unified save (doesn't really need one for account, progress are linked to the mii you use in each game)
Last night I had the browser open on the gamepad (but not actually doing anything), and the curtains shut on TV. When I looked at the TV after a few minutes, my Mii was on screen entertaining the TV viewers - baton twirling, juggling, magic involving rabbit and hat) - anybody else seen this?
Good sleuthing! It's funny, though; I really could do with more than 3 slots for Mario. With Mario it works theoratically because you can use 3 save slots in the game. It works with ZombiU. I logged in with my usual Mii and there was a save file. I logged in with a different Mii and there was no save file. So it seems to work on a game per game basis.
Edit:

I've had to delete and restart 2 files for different combinations of players...
I still then need to delete one again and re-begin my single player campaign.
Playing NSMBU and I really miss the 'item in reserve' mechanic from the DS games, where you could tap the bottom screen to use an item. It made collecting Star Coins that required a specific power up much less of a pain in the arse.
Awesome game otherwise though! Don't know how anyone could possibly get sick of 2D Mario. :3
Could do with an extended friends list, please Nintendo.
Just went in to the Miiverse and wanted to change my name from "Matty" which my girlfriend gave me to "Matthew"
A fucking 5 minute process with these loading times.
How Nintendo thought this was acceptable is beyond me. Everything LITERALLY takes 10x longer than it should. Doing anything is such a pain because you have to wait so long.
That's a five/six year old piece of tech, though.
This is a new console released in 2012.
Honestly, the console is shit. There's nothing about it I like. The games are great, which is the important part, but yeah, Nintendo did rubbish with this hardware.
I wish this x years old tech talk would just stop. It's extremely annoying, even if the argument was true.
45 minutes for the Black Ops 2 update? Fix this shit, Nintendo.
I'm not a coder so I don't know.
I just meant as a general piece of hardware it's not impressive. Not a next-gen leap in power, boring/dated/messy UI, a slow OS, etc etc.
Utter rubbish.
That's what everybody means (expect the really dumb ones), but they keep on saying it. Can't be helped I guess. Without the gamepad the console would've been definitely stronger. But if I had to choose, I'd have picked the gamepad over power. For better power, there are still three other alternatives although you've got to wait a little more for two of them.I'm not saying it's old tech, if you're referring to me, just not as powerful as I would have liked.
I don't want to return it. I'm glad I bought it - the games are very fun. I look forward to years of great Nintendo games on the system. That's too bad. Maybe you should return it then or see if the retailer will try and work with you.
For me personally, this console is absolutely fantastic. To each his own, however.
