EB Australia ordered out of Wii U consoles

Many Christmas shopping parents and children might be disappointed this year, with the news that EB Games Australia will no longer be taking orders for Nintendo’s latest console as of tomorrow. Two weeks ago, EB Games Australia announced that the cutoff date for Wii U pre-orders was to be set for the 18th of November, less than two weeks from the console’s Aussie and Kiwi launch. EB Australia has confirmed that all existing orders will be covered on the launch day, but no mention has yet been made as to when the next shipment of stock will be available. This news comes following the noted shortages of stock in North America and Europe, as EB International and Gamestop also seem to have ordered out of their day one stock.

It has not yet been confirmed as to whether or not other retailers like JB HiFi have also ordered out, the odds are that if the country’s largest game retailer has run low on stock, you can bet that many others are likely to follow. Fingers crossed that further allocation will become available to shops (and Santa) before the holiday season comes to a close.

ZombiU threads are something I'm avoiding, as I want to go in blind.

The review from earlier has me hopeful. I don't want "Call of Duty - with Zombies!" I'd like something a but more tense, where one has to explore and be cautious with ammo/resources, etc - something a bit more Ike the first four Resident Evil games. So while it seems like what the reviewer was seeking and what I'm seeking are diametrically opposed, I take this as a good sign.

Got my Deluxe Bundle system at Walmart, yesssss!

Only problem is I can't update. Me and a friend are trying to set up the Internet and can't get it to connect, both my 3DS and IPhone still connect to my wireless modem/router combo but the Wii U refuses, we've reset and cycled everything, changed the WPA key, nothing. Anyone else having issues?

I went to two Walmarts in Raleigh, NC about an hour before launch and all the first come first serve units were already taken by people waiting in line so YMMV, depending on where you live.

First, does anyone know how Madden 13 or Sonic Racing ports are supposed to be? I know Madden is missing the new physics engine, but outside of that does anyone know anything? Best buys in aurora, co told me they had none for sale and walmart is sold them at midnight. Toys r us has 2-4 and Sams club has 4-8. Hope this helps Denver/aurora peeps!

Madden is last years version essentially, which was fine imo. It does play on the pad, which is almost makes it worth buying. You can also call plays on the pad and even do hot routes, although I'm not sure how well it works. I saw a little last night. I already have it on PS3, so I'll wait till next year unless they drop the price.

There's a video of Sonic Racing on Wii U, looks the same as the other ports. The Gamepad is used for two things: an overhead map, and if you lift the Gamepad up to eye level, you get a rear-view camera you can use to better aim your weapons behind you.

Got my Deluxe from Walmart. They had 10 total units, 5 Deluxe and 5 Standard. 6 total sales, 4 standard units left.

Updating everything is ridiculous. Kills the excitement.

Hope kids that get this from Santa don't have to go through this much waiting before they can play. Hopefully the server was just super bogged down.

Data transfers a bit of a pain too. But worthwhile for all your stuff to be set up on the Wii U for you. Especially Mii's for Nintendoland.

I've had my system pre-ordered for a long time but I never pre-ordered Mario just assuming I can pick it up from the cheapest place on the day. I highly doubt the systems will sell out here let-a-lone a game.

Will have to check that. All other systems have worked fine, so I figured it was something I have to adjust on Wii U settings.
