I would be totally cool with that, my favorite 3D Zelda. Completely remastered and re-done audio/visuals would be awesome, Upad functionality would be nice too. Just imagine the new levels of creepiness the Happy Mask Salesman could ascend to on HD hardware!
 
I might be talking out my ass here because I don't play the games, but I think that licensed sports titles are probably one of the more attainable 3rd party market segments for Nintendo in the U.S. The obstacles that made Gamecube and Wii substantially inferior platforms for this segment don't seem to be in play anymore. Wii U should always be "on par" with the next Microsoft and Sony consoles with respect to this genre mechanically if not visually.
 
As much as I'd love to see an HD version of my favorite game, I can't help but feel a remake would taint some of the nightmare fuel. It would ruin the charm!

If they could pull it off successfully in the style we see in the promotional art... god speed.

Real talk that high contrast art style in the promotional images for Majora's Mask makes me wonder why we haven't seen a dark theatre styled game.

Majora's Mask reflects the games nature: Zelda's usual fun, adventurous feel(the game's vibrant colors) is now at odds with MM's noticeably darker themes(The completely black shadows) That's why done something similar, WW, TP, and SS aren't similar to MM when it comes to a drastic contrast in themes.

I like both series and wouldn't mind those at launch, I just think they need to get out of the gate with some bigger bangers but maybe those will arrive in the launch window.

I just know they realize the fuck-up with the 3DS and am not sure about those two games making up for it.

However, there could be a whole slew of better third party games at launch than on the 3DS.

Yeah. I think the 3rd party will be a lot better to start off. I could have said Mario Galaxy 3, but I don't think that is possible this year. Next year yes!!!

To be honest, though, ANYTHING could come out in the launch window. People bought Pilotwings and Steel Diver, despite an utter dearth of content for the price. If anything, respectable entries in the F-Zero and Pikmin series would probably ONLY sell well on/close to launch.

I do agree that they still need a juggernaut out of the gate, as well as a steady flow of titles into the holidays. Nintendo has the holiday on their side, but that's all the more reason to make the Wii U the "hot gift" this year with some great must-haves.

I don't think that's the market they want to aim for right at the start, at least not the main focus, and it would have to be QUITE the campaign to make it a system seller. Honestly the only system sellers that could happen are mario or a well marketed retro action title (that's iffy though).
 
Any news? This has to be the biggest thread in the history of GAF. No news, but the thread keeps on growing. I pray for the severs when E3 starts.

Didn't Aonuma admit in an interview that Nintendo will require outsourcing for games requiring extensive HD graphics ?
Not sure the transition to HD graphics will go that smoothly for the company : it will look great of course, but I am expecting even more delays and game draughts for Nintendo's core franchises on Wii U.
