To be fair, they sinned towards third parties for a long time, as well.
Sad thing is, the only people that got hurt by this whole third-party drama were Nintendo fans.
To be fair, they sinned towards third parties for a long time, as well.
Nintendo sinned towards third parties a long, long time ago.. and they have to pay for those sins for a long, long time.
How long? I dunno.

True. And, admittedly, they continue to sin in some ways.
No, you misunderstood me. If you had said that it has to be as good, then yeah, that's fine. However, saying that it has to be better than services these devs already support for it to be acceptable should mean that you're saying that the competitions' services aren't good enough, what obviously isn't the case because they're supported. Why should Nintendo be held to a much higher standard while everyone else is fine, especially when Nintendo has compete with fucking Microsoft? it's like saying that all of Microsoft's games are failures if they don't sell as much as NSMBWii.
My argument is weak, and you proved it with extremely vague counterpoints based on info you don't have any access to. Okay, then.
If by sinned you mean by trying to have some actual quality control (via license fees)
actual piracy avoidance via media format and a real attempt to give studios an alternative to company crushing development costs on the "HD" twins then yeah.
Im an ass i know and all my points are shaky at best![]()
I only wish. They should just admit they are afraid they won't sell on the console and leave it at that.
They have to jump through hoops that the others don't have to.Pay for them how? They don't give a fuck as long as they make money. Which they've done greatly every year except this past one.
No.. No 3D Mario?

Tom was talking about stuff Nintendo did from ~1984 to ~1996. They forced companies to sign agreements to not make titles for any competing consoles.
I'm sorry, is 10% better really that much to ask for a console not only years in the making, but the debut of the 8th generation as well? I see your reasoning, but my lord. I was mostly arguing from an "on-par" perspective anyways, I guess I shouldn't have faith in Nintendo to throw a few extras in for my money.
And modest accolades for a service that had literally nowhere to go but up isn't any less vague of a point.
Don't worry. We might not see it at E3 but it will come.
No, I hear Nintendo has given up on 3D Mario games. Forever.
No.. No 3D Mario?

Maybe they'll announce the 2D Mario as a launch title and show a trailer 3D Mario trailer. There's always hope!

I was being sarcastic lolYes. I was joking. Sometimes I do that. You're probably think it's because I'm impotent, but really, I just want to be part of the group.
If they're smart they'll have *something* ready for all major franchises.
That's my current theory. It changes from day to day, sometimes hour to hour. I never know with this company.
I was being sarcastic lol
Would you be willing to pay an annual fee of at least $70 for that? Because that's what would need to happen for a company like Nintendo to be able to invest as much as Microsoft. It's not reasonable to expect them to advance 15 years in the online area in one fell swoop for free.

Does anyone think that Sony and/or Microsoft will try and dilute the Nintendo hype at E3 by showing off something from their next gen? Either alpha unit content or some CG trailer? You'd think they'd want to not be lost in the Wii U hype if they can help it. Especially when there is all this 'Wii U is not next gen' bollocks. If they show something graphically superior to Wii U the gaming media would suck it up like mad.

He meant 110% as good, so 10% better. He didn't communicate that well at all.
You said 110% better, so that's more than twice better.
Looks like you might be right after all HylianTom. I'll eat all the crow.![]()
Wow, he sure seems butthurt.
Wow, he sure seems butthurt.
Ehh.. I have crow recipes I could share. Nayru knows I've chowed enough..
I brought that up earlier today, might be too much Mario at the show though.
It's possible.

Yeah, like E3 2009.

Yeah, I knew it. So it is a possibility!
The gaming media will do that for them without them having to reveal any a single piece of next-gen tech. "The Last of Us/Halo 4 looks better than ANYTHING Nintendo showed at their press conference." That sentence will be said.
Though there is also the NSMB 3D they still have to show, so we'll see. I really hope we get a glimpse of the next 3D Mario just to see what they do with it.
and because it would look fantastic
Hm what's his history with Nintendo?

I've been wondering but haven't had time to search myself. Which E3 since 2006 has Nintendo shown the most first party titles at? Was it 2006?

Ported MDK2 to WiiWare. Makers of Tropico.
*yawn*
Made a game for WiiWare and was apparently really turned off by Nintendo's policies or attitudes or something.
I mean, unless he's just traumatized at being forced into making a Sonic game.
I would imagine so. Conference brought a lot of type, the trailers featuring multiple games were incredible for both Wii and DS.
Man 2010 was amazing. Never felt so good about the output like I did that year.2010 maybe? Remember they had Metroid: OM, DKCR, KEY, Zelda: SS, Kid Icarus, Nitendogs + Cats, Pilotwings Resort, Zelda: OOT 3D, Starfox 64 3D, Steel Diver, Wii Party, Mario Kart 7, Paper Mario 3D, Animal Crossing 3D, probably other stuff I'm forgetting.

They didn't confirm it to be NSMB, did they? I thought it was just a new 2D Mario title.
Meeeeeooooowwwrrrr. Seriously though, as others said it's probably a legitimate complaint regarding Nintendo's rediculously rigid Wii Ware limits and payout rules. That reminds me, I remember several years ago my brother saying he read that the devs behind Alien Hominid and Castle Crashes wanted to put one of their projects on Wii Ware but skipped for the same reasons.
I don't think so, but I have a hard time seeing it be something else.
We have no idea what specifically happened in their dealings, and it's unfair to just assume they were being whiny about the file size limits. So just one title on a service that he knew was limiting?
He seems butthurt over something else. I mean shouldn't he have known that the WiiWare was pretty limiting beforehand? If Nintendo has changed (we'll see at E3) then why avoid them this generation?

I'm definitely not sticking up for this guy, he's clearly got his mind set in a pretty shitty way.

I'm hoping it's something else. Would like to see a new art style for a change.
