Will a 4070 ti be enough for 4-5 years at 1080p/1440p ?

I agree.

But still some % of memory always have to be used as system RAM (plus few GBs for OS) so I would say that 24GB GPUs will be fully usable next gen even if consoles will have 32GB.
They will but if they have 32 gigs then I would be surprised if they used more than 4 gigs for the system so it would be more like 28 gigs available. I think the PRO has 2 gigs of system memory for the OS etc. My logic is the jump from PS4 to PS5 was about 5.5 x on GPU and a doubling of ram. The 4070 TI is about double the PS5 or so. So the PS6 would be at least more than double the 4070 TI in power. Around 50 to 60 TF so around the 4090. This is just going by what happened last time so it could be different. The problem is consoles aren't the high end on even the mid range technically, it's the base. In other words the 4090 becomes the base. The only GPU I would get to have for 4 to 5 years is the 4090.

I expected 4090 like performance from PS6 in some thread here quite some time ago and my calculations like your pointed to it. BUT, Pro is super weak jump and technology is moving much slower now than in PS4 times, I don't think AMD will have something with 4090 like performance in APU form in 2028. They won't have DESKTOP GPU with 4090 power this year, they will have something better in 2027 but we are talking about ~350W desktop monsters.

I think PS6 will disappoint in pure raster power front, they will likely go Ai/RT way like nvidia. And with expensive GDDR7 maybe consoles won't have more than 24GB.

I would say no, i have a 4070s and already thinking of getting a 5080 when they come out. It would be OK if your happy with less than 60 fps and lower settings though. Personally I like to run and max settings and on PC want 60 at least. Can't afford a 4090 though.

Cross gen, all games will be on PS5 for first few years.

I would say 2029-2030.
Pretty much and possibly even longer. The 4070Ti is still at least 30% faster than the PS5 Pro's GPU on its best day. And RT difference and capablities is still laughable. Stock machine even more so.

How much more powerful will a PS6 be and feature sets that will completely change the game within a few years I doubt will pose that much of an issue for it. The only issue I see for the GPU is the VRAM or those heavy RT games but who knows if Nvidia will sort that with DLSS 4, on Ada LL.

Easily

Look at the consoles - they are locked at lower performance than that and they lack DLSS. Even the pro ps5 is quite a bit worse in every sense

If we talking new AAA games, highly demanding, u wont be able to play them maxed in 1440p at solid 60, u might play them in 1080p on high tho(there will still be very high, ultra and some above ultra settings that is trully max) , no or minimal rt :p
Proof:
Just look how wukong runs on it, 1080p dlss quality, everything maxed (u can see first no frame gen, then with framegen)

Now lets think about it logicaly- will we have games in 3 years that are vastly more demanding, specs wise, or not? ;)

I'm still rocking a 3090 that is in a similar ballpark in performance and have no issues for the foreseeable future (usually run high instead of ultra outside of textures as need something other than RT/PT to gobble up VRAM), then again it does have 24GB of VRAM so never have to worry about that side of things - not something that can be said for most cards these days

What is your standard in regards to settings? If it's ultra all the way, maybe not. But, if you run more optimized settings that card will likely be useful for many years to come.

Any reason to think the 5070 will outperform the 4070 Ti?

It runs almost 60fps in 4k/DLSS with framegen and 80+ FPS in 1440p. I paid an arm to get all the fancy Nvidia bling so I'm gonna use it :p
There won't be many power hungry games anyway in the next couple years unless shit optimization counts : graphics are leveled down by the current console capabilities, as they've always been, and we're at the end of the current cycle.

I love how people act like a card can't run a game if it can't run tech demo ray tracing, lol. The 4070 ti is a very powerful card and will run games quite nicely for a little while. If you want all the latest tech demo mega ray tracing settings, you basically always have to buy new gen. Even the 1600 dollar 4090 isn't gonna have some of the new features of the 50 series cards.

All GPUs that are at least as fast as 2080ti will last until 2028/2029, as we will be playing PS5 ports until then. The requirements (especially the VRAM) are going to increase dramatically when the first PS6 games are ported to the PC. until the you will only need to adjust few settings to play with at least 60fps at console like quality.
