World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

I know a the-lot of people hate the way that Tama the-speaks...

But honestly, I'm really impressed with Lisa Kay Jenning's delivery with that speech quirk. Never misses a beat. I would personally think it would be quite difficult during recording to ensure never accidentally missing a "the".

The writing and characters are so damn charming. Reynn and Lann come across as genuine brother and sister with their little quips at each other.

Oh my god, thank you so much. I was wondering how to do it, and my attempts to google it weren't turning anything up.

Yeah, you would think it would just be going to the mirage board and pressing a certain button to choose form. But the game never tells you that you need to go to Selphy to change transfiguration forms. Edit, maybe it does. My mistake.

Also, my first online battle. I feel bad. The guy I was playing against just seemed like he was trying it out.

But the game never tells you that you need to go to Selphy to change transfiguration forms.

The game explicitly tells you that as a tutorial pop-up, then it's in Menu -> Tip Jar -> Transfiguration. Transfigs have to be done from prism case.

I just started chapter 17 and I have to say this is probably the best FF I've played in a very long time, and I actually enjoyed the XIII saga.

X-2's battle system is still GOAT

hello fellow GAF people. I have enjoyed several final fantasy games, from 6-13. What the hell is this game? I have not followed it at all.

Its a game about chibi FF characters and locations crammed together in a single world, played from the eyes of two Kingdom hearts rejects(in a positive way). You fight in turn based battles with familiar characters, use summons and generally find your way around the world like one of the older FF's.

3) You can use abilities like cure outside of battle. Go to abilities, find a character with that spell, highlight it and press triangle. Honestly though, it's better to just stack up on potions for out of battle healing.

4) It's always best to level up a mirage to it's large form starting from it's small "puppy" form. As the abilities and bonuses gained stack form to form. So a XL Cerberus grown from a Nakk will be stronger than an isolated XL Cerberus.

For 3, press start to use your stack's AP. As it recovers in battle each turn, you might as well not waste money on potions.

For 4, you can work backwards and start by getting the stronger skills earlier, so I don't see how it hurts to start big.

thanks for the summary! it may be a tad too far on the cute side of things for me, might pick it up on sale

So I know about the whole Goblin Princess trick thing that you can do early on. My question is, does it give you too much of an advantage? Like do you end up making the game an absolute joke for a while? Because I don't want to do it if it is going to make the game braindead for like the next 8 hours

Caught me a little baby behemoth.

I'm not far in or anything, but I like how the Mirages all seem to have meaning and use. The mirage board really helps it stand apart from Pokemon. Unlike Pokemon, I feel compelled to capture everything for the ability use in battle rather than stick to a specific one the entire experience.

Couple of technical questions:

1. Are you only allowed one save slot? If so, is there a way to replay chapters/replay cutscenes?

2. Is there a way to turn off subtitles in cutscenes?

I've been listening to the bits of the soundtrack uploaded on Youtube so far and it's really glorious. So glad they got Hamauzu for this game.

Pre-ordered this game a week ago for vita and it has yet to ship but something I was curious about was what are the differences between vita and ps4 version other than the English VA being dlc?

Only up to chapter 2 so far but this game is so cute! Performance on Vita is worse than I expected with lots of frame rate drops but the gorgeous art direction and incredible music make up for that.

Also, I thought this was supposed to have a terrible story? Its actually pretty good so far. Loving Enna Kros.

Just came in today.

As I suspected, I'm actually getting better performance remote playing in bed than I would've gotten with the native Vita version.

Don't use a mirage with counter while actively hunting. I had to shelve Ifrit for that reason, he has to get counter to get Hellfire.

Wow I LOVE this game! God, the music, the graphics, that sincere but not serious story, classic gameplay, so much nostalgic ff characters in a fresh light... I was hoping for this game to be great but man it's fantastic.

I love the fact that the game doesn't take itself serious. I mean the description for the
dualizard (I think that's what it's called) was that it has rap battles with itself.
I mean this game is awesome.

I know right, the soundtrack in this game is unbelievably good.

This game's humor is so on point.
Yep. Reminds me of Paper Mario. Square should leave the visual style the same, and proceed with sequels with more worlds and characters; while retaining the humor.

It could serve as a good alternative the the "serious/dramatic" entries and a breath of fresh air.

How do I get my Sephiroth summon from the girl who can't remember her name? I don't see any options and it shows my pack as installed.

I went to the triangle menu where you equip medallions and it was just in there to select. Didn't have to get it from the girl.

Holy crap, this tutorial prompt killed me:

[Unique Abilities]
Just so you know, some Mirages have unique abilities that aren't shared between transfigged forms.

A perfect example would be Tama's secret weapon, the Super Fox-Dimensional TamaBeam*

*DOES NOT ACTUALLY EXIST

[pg.2]
Wait, but what if the TamaBeam DID exist?
Is that what you want? A sidekick with eye lasers?!
Eye lasers that would eradicate all foes!
Eye lasers that would burn her cute little retinas!

Eye lasers that... would be exceedingly painful.

... Shame on you, wishing for that!
Let's look into getting Tama a tail laser instead.
I love the game's humor.

I agree. I wish that most modern JRPG's on consoles were like this game in gameplay being turn-based.

I don't know if this is an error but when I redeemed the day one code on PSN I got a free digital download of the game. Did anyone else notice this?

Another tip, find a mirage with the No Escape ability, like the Magitek Armor from the demo. Some mirages will try and escape if you imprism them, including the starter mirages when you find them in the wild.

Yeah that was an error that has since been fixed IIRC,

My only issue so far is leveling up transfigged characters since I'm guessing their skills and buffs aren't shared.

And I should take off counter but it's so good.

The way I understand it is everything is shared except for the skills that have green text when you press triangle on their mirage board. I haven't transfigured any yet to actually see though.

Stat buffs are shared. I think Battle skills are too. Field skills aren't.

This pissed me off when I transfigged my Zapt then went to Zap something in Chapter 15.

At the very beginning of chapter 20 and it's time for bed.

Actually this is correct. So all stat buffs and some but not all battle skills carry over.
