World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

Anyone order from The Game Collection? Hearing they stuffed up and didn't send out Day One editions to anyone.

EDIT: Their supplier stuffed up.

How do you get the Sephiroth Champions medal? I unlocked the tea room and the coliseum and all I see is the Warrior of Light medal.

Did you put in the code and download the bonus content before you began your save file? The game only detects DLC and Demo data when you begin a new game, so you may have locked yourself out of it. I had to (wanted to, really) restart my own file because I never played the Demo and I learned there was an exclusive item after I'd already put in 11 hours.

The Skip option has made it incredibly easy to catch up to where I was before in way less time. My levels and side progress are actually better this go since I already experienced it, and I also managed to unlock the early game grind spot this time.

ETA: or you may just need to unlock the Champion's Medal menu! Thanks, TLS Rex!

I heard that the story and side quest stuff gives you exactly the right number of Arma Gems to buy & experience everything, so I'm not playing conservatively with those.

He should be along the others you have, no purchase per se.

Ah yeah he's in the menu. You have to buy one to get access to the menu, hence my confusion. Thanks!

Kinda annoyed I had to spend the arma gems to get WoL though, I wanted to save them for quests and other champions I want.

EDIT: To clarify to anyone else confused, you don't buy Sephiroth with Arma Gems, you automatically have him (if you have the DLC). But you can't equip him until you buy your first one from the girl with no name, because that's what unlocks the option in the menu.

Are there enough arma gems in the game to do all the content/ get all the champions?

I have all the other dlc from the CE like the Red Bonnetberry all unlocked and the Sephiroth dlc is installed at the same time as the others.

Edit: Might it not appear because I didn't buy the WoL medal yet?

Wow, somehow this game totally escaped my radar, but after reading the OP, it sounds pretty great. If I love Dragon Quest Monsters and the early Final Fantasys, I should probably get this?

The game starts giving you like 8-10 per boss battle later on, and there's no shortage of bosses. You don't have to ration yourself. I think there's only like twelve champion medals at 2 gems each.

You sound like the target demographic for this game. Get it. Play the demo in the meantime. It isn't too great of a Demo as it is lacking some key features and missing a good chunk of the atmosphere and humor of the game, but you do get a cool little bonus for beating it.

Awesome, thank you! I'm gonna buy it very soon and I'll check out the demo.

What's the requisite to imprism something that you have a prism for but won't let you get it when weakened? Trying to get a Glow Moogle from the coliseum, I have its prism but I can't use it. This was likely already explained in the game so pardon my ignorance.

I'm stuck in Chapter 21.
I guess you have to successfully finish those intervene quests? One of them I couldn't do, with the weapon boss. Is that mandatory?

Everything has different requirements. Some just need to be weakened, some you need to use specific elements etc. Use Libra to find out. Pretty sure for Moogles you need to heal them.

Sadly can't get the game at launch, so gonna be a bit cheeky and ask if anyone doesn't want their Day-One UK/EU PS4 DLC code, I'll take it please! :)

Being able to get AP back in battle is so goddamn useful, it creates a really good flow to the game.

My game must be bugged, I toppled a stacked cockatrice + reaver mu but wasn't able to get the message "you found a new mirage! here's a prism!" for reaver mu, I didn't encounter an unstacked reaver mu yet

I checked online resources but no one else seems to had this issue before

Anyone else had this happen as well?

Looks like the only way to get mirages you don't have prisms is by trading other players for it
(if you threw away extra mirages without getting the prism from it)

Bit late of a reply, but someone on PSN Trophies seemed to have had a similar issue, also with the Reaver Mu. (Other people have had the same issue in another thread.) I don't know if they had the same problem later with not being able to Transfig to it later, though, that seems really frustrating.

I'm kicking myself that I transformed my Copper Golem -> Mythril Giant without seeing one on the field, I guess that means I won't get a prism for the Mythril Giant?

All the "the" business is starting to grate after 10 minutes. Might switch to Japanese...

Before the game released, I thought the 'the' usage was the worst. thing. ever. I got used to it thirty minutes in. An hour later, and I was actively looking forward to seeing what weird 'the' combination Tama will use next. I the-think it's the-Stockholm Syndrome.

This game is painfully adorable.

I missed the first XL Mirage. Can I go back and get it later?

Ha ha ha what the hell why is Lightning have so much more personality in this than every game she's been in? Also they coulda given her her actual good costumes and not her LR trash one for this game.

Just did the For Friends or Vengeance intervention quest and Tama kills me.
Cloud is searching for
Sephiroth
(surprise...), and once the battle starts Tama says
"He's not here right now, maybe one day you'll meet him in an expans... Never mind!"
I almost cried

lol, what's she like in this?

She's just kind of a jerk.

Oh, and I thought I'd mention this so people would have a better idea of the mechanics or what they want to do about transfiguring or stacking.

Transfiguring is not like evolving in Pokemon; if you transfigure it does not mean you are necessarily getting stronger. On each Mirage's Mirage Board there are two types of nodes, normal ones and ones with little curly stuff around it. The normal ones are nodes that affect a Mirage REGARDLESS OF IT'S TRANSFIGURED STATE. So if you get a Strength + node, in every Transfiguration it will benefit from the Str+. Likewise if it is an ability or passive, a transfigured Mirage will know that ability/passive. The ones with curls around them are SPECIFIC TO THAT TRANSFIGURATION; these are all abilities or passives and only take affect or show up in your ability menu if you are in that specific state.

The most important parts to take away from this are:

1. You can buy nodes in a Mirage Board for a transfigured state even if you didn't turn your Mirage into it simply to make your Mirage stronger or expand it's abilities or get a Mirajewel or whatever. For example, if I want to keep my Sharqual a tiny lil shark but want to bump his stats and have unlocked the Mega Sharqual Mirage Board I can start going through that board and buying nodes to power up my tiny Sharqual.

2. Transfiguration is mostly strategic in nature. Transfiguration is about adaptability and preference. If you want more Medium Mirages you can Transfig a S to M or L to M (depending on the Transfigs available) to have a stronger stack. Or if one Transfig has better resistances or abilities for the area you're in or a Secret Area Mirage you're trying to capture, Transfig to the form that has better resistances or elemental weaknesses. Or hell, if you simply like one form better than another, just use that form and clear the other boards when you can so you don't have to worry about lagging behind.

3. I am about 80% certain this is the way stats work; there is a base stat value for a Mirage which is then modified by the Transfig it currently is in. So if let's say a Mimic normally has an 80 for Str, maybe a Magic Jar Transfig adjusts it by 40% while a Mimic Queen Transfig adjusts it by 120%. If this is not in fact the way stats work, then I would assume stat gains are based upon the star rating of each Transfig form meaning that whatever Transfig it is in dictates how much each stat increases. All this means is that you can choose what stat is more important for the skillset you want a Mirage to have and keep it in that form accordingly while clearing it's other Mirage Boards.

Hopefully that helps some people.

Honestly, I'd say that transfigs give you more options and some may be inherently stronger just due to greater stat Star Ratings or more diverse abilities (mostly because they're unlockable through Mementos) but it's not the majority. Hell, I got Mist Dragon after Holy Dragon and Mist Dragon is a fucking Evasion Beast and smaller than the Holy Dragon.

2 things I'd like to share

1. If you press O, you can skip the victory fanfare post battle. It has to be Circle, not X, not TouchPad etc.

2. After you've unlocked the champion medal summon. Their battle theme is selectable in the config menu. Rocking FF8s battle theme right now. Also, turn up music volume in the config menu, IMO it's kind of muted.

Without spoiling anything, how far are you?

I've just seen her before the
Figaro part in the desert
.

Farther, but considering I hate Lightning your mileage may vary.

FUCKING WHAT

THANK YOU

Yeah. In non Japanese versions we're used to pressing X. Which doesn't skip it. But pressing O does. I think that's one thing they forgot to convert over from the Japanese version. I saw a Japanese streamer skip the victory celebration and and I was like wait a minute. And as expected. O skips. Not X.

This game just hits all the right buttons. I have not felt this way since FF 3. I feel like a ive been given a gift. This game, just...this....game.

I saw the game in-person at a friend's place and am now interested in the title where before I had pretty much zero - how is the game after the first few hours? The cute aesthetic is growing on me and what I've heard of the OST sounds pretty nice. My friend has only just gotten the game and wiped at the first encounter with
Ifrit
, which surprised both of us.

Damn.Thanks

Tama could of mentioned this at some point in the-time.

Finally got around to starting this, on chapter 4.

I mean this is clearly a game I would have loved if I were 8-12 years old - except I wouldn't have been able to appreciate the nostalgia. Some of the writing is legit humorous while other writing is really bad. There have been some moments with animations or whatnot that have surprised me though.

All in all this seems like a really odd game that will hold me over until FF15.

I was wondering if it was at all representative of the full game because the demo is pretty damn boring.

What was the exclusive demo item?
Does it prevent platinum?

It's hitting all the right notes for me. Just plain adorable, and the humor just hits right with me. The fuckin descriptions man. Every time. Also how many chapters are there?

First, you need to buy the champion medal summon from the Tea Room. Then go to options, config - change battle theme. I also suggest slightly increasing the music volume slider a bit, it seems muted in this game.

No no, I'm sorry, my shock was that you could do this. I figured it out when you said it.

Got to the "ending" screen in 33 hours. Only 50% complete on Mirage collection. Lots of colosseum fights and interventions still to do.

Nice to know. Can you confirm there's no NG+ ?

I'm weak. I just bought the digital version on Vita even though I'm supposed to receive the game on PS4 in a week or so. I should have stayed away from this thread.

Without spoiling too much:
the story continues after the end. Gobs of interventions open up too. So, looks like there's an ultimate ending.

And you'll love the cross save feature. Enjoy the two copies.
