World of Final Fantasy |OT| Lightning Inside

I'm at like 80 hours and had no idea about either the fanfare skip or the theme change. That's some SGA right there. Should make the 100 mastered boards a little more tolerable on my way to the Platinum.

That said, I'm not even sure I can even get the Plat. People Pleaser still hasn't popped and there are no NPCs with quests remaining and I've done basically everything else in the game bar mini-game Trophies and 100% chests. Missing one diary page (page six I think, if anyone remembers where it is) so hopefully that'll pop something. Really hope it wasn't some missable quest I didn't get or a nasty glitch...

No, sorry, I misread your post. Tifa unlocks the FF7 one, haven't seen an unlock for Sephiroth yet.

Well, nevermind then.

I am really surprised people didn't know about the ability to change battle themes. Did none of you go through options? It was even in the demo. Read the OP next time people!

So it's Sunday and I want to buy this game.

Went to amazon.de and saw it for 50€ and thinking "Sweet, will be the same or cheaper on PSN"

Well I was wrong, 60€ on PSN.... Maybe I will consider buying the physical version, but normally I'm 100% digital.

i traded stuff in at game yesterday to get it, they were sold out. rather than wait and order it i used the credit to buy psn bucks just so i could play it sooner, haha. spent a good £10 more for it but it seems worth it.

Holy crap at the difficulty spike at the very start of Chapter 19 lol. Had to actually go back and adjust stacks and do a bit of leveling, also had to burn all 3 of my high level earth damage items. Still got through it on my second try, but that was unexpected given the game's difficulty up until this point unless I just got really unlucky on the fight or something.

At about 30 hours, more or less just going through the story and not doing a whole lot of side stuff so I can get to the endgame faster to level up Mirages faster.

You are paying 10€ extra for the comfort of having it right there without leaving your couch but I know that is not a very good reason for paying more, or is it?

I really like the fights that are based more around trying to increase your Prism chance against an enemy that's either really goddam strong or can die if you're not careful.

15 hours now into the vita version of the game.

There was maybe some frame rate issues in some towns but it never gets way to rough. The load times are great and even the "downgraded" graphics aren't really bad. I'm so happy I got this game, it's gonna be perfect for plane rides this christmas break.

So I feel like I might be doing something wrong.

I'm in the forest dungeon and whilst I've caught just about everything that comes my way, the enemies seem to be equally strong and with just one or two, sometimes three, abilities per character (in chibi form) I can very easily get overwhelmed with simply healing.

I ended up choosing Shiva so I have her "gift" and I've been using a Moogle, Toma, that black dog, idk just seems like I'm missing something.

This game took a nosedive for me, I was loving it but then I got to the
Mako Reactor
at chapter 12, and I can't win a battle, can't win the boss fight.

And because when you die you go back to their base, I have to do all the walking again.

Did anyone else felt a similar dificulty spike?

I'm curious about these difficulty spikes because I def didn't encounter any yet and I'm on Chapter 18. Always have a full stack and keep up on weaknesses and you're normally all set.

You did
grab all your party back out of the gate at the start of the reactor
right?

I'm at the forest dungeon and have yet to come across a large mirage outside of ones that are M and can be upgraded to L.
You can also use the Big Stack options and put a Medium and Small on top of your head. L+Square and L+Circle when you're on a map to switch between forms and stacks.

Oh yeah, and for Saronia Harbor:
The Bells order is Seaweed, Seashells, Fish. The Moogle Pirates are hard, but the Lightning spell that hits everything helped a lot and I managed to Imprism one!

Only spike I really seen was fighting
Malboro Menace and Flan Princess
, and that's because I just went in unprepared the first couple times.. Ended up capturing both though, so it all worked out in the end.

I've "beaten" the game, and can't say I noticed any significant difficulty spikes. Catch up on interventions and don't run from battles and you should be golden.

So like all the RPGs I play then?

I always do every sidequest and root through every crevice of a dungeon available before I move on to the next story part.

I keep forgetting the murkrifts I passed before, so now I'm collecting all those as well and I've barely hit chapter 7 yet.

Any recommendable mirages? I keep catching everything I see and mess around through staples all the time but at the ende the difference is not really big. I'm at chapter 7 at the moment and I play most of the time with both characters in L form.

I find it more beneficial to run around in Lilkin form riding a L mirage and S mirage on top, I got both magic and physical with alot of HP and options to chose from.

Cast protect for larger enemies and just smash em down with physical attacks for the most part.

People might check the options at the start, when the extra character battle themes are not available.

Oh man, you are really missing out.

Mate, I am probably missing out on so many games at this point. I just can't play everything :(

Yep, nowhere does the game say "you can change battle music in options" when you get the Champion Medals.

So it is indeed a "hidden" feature.

Well I kind of figured it out by myself to be honest. I checked it once I finished the Cornelia quest line and then again after using Warrior of Light for the 1st time.

Just got this game yesterday and playing. So far I'm loving it. Good music.

A bit confused though. Once the white mage join you can she be in combat with you or no?

The Cactrot is a pain to catch but Magitek Armor P you get from the demo really helped. It has an ability to stop Mirages from escaping.

I didn't realise that you can take advantage of a Mirages prismtunity multiple times makes it easier to catch. It you have to cast cure on a Mirage to get its prismtunity. If you cast it a few times it makes catching easier.

If you are talking about the ice area she only heals you when your HP bar turns yellow. She doesn't join in battle.

Wow people weren't joking, this is literally Final Fantasy Pokemon down to the prism shaking three times before capturing. Still fun although the combat is a bit too basic for my liking, hopefully it varies a little later.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm up to fight the Wolf lol

is primagames.com down for anyone else? I got the guide for this game for free from doing some survey and I wanted to check some stuff, but it seems it barely loads the main page, let alone trying to log in and get to the actual guide...

I'd forgotten to mention, I did a huge double-take when I saw Jun Akiyama come up as Event Director. I guess he went from Versus XIII to WoFF? Now he's on FFXII:TZA?

The soundtrack continues to impress. The arrangements are incredible - the map theme from FF3 is just beautiful, and WoL's Champion theme is so good.

2 things I'd like to share

1. If you press O, you can skip the victory fanfare post battle. It has to be Circle, not X, not TouchPad etc.

Oh, god, thank you. I was confused why it wasn't skippable.

Man, the English script is so much more enjoyable than the Japanese script.

It's fantastic, I'm so pleasantly surprised. The flavor text is so good. I keep taking screengrabs for nearly every mirage.

The game does offer up a lot of variety in customizing, building up your stacks to get different magic spells, resistances for your stack, etc. The highest elemental resistance in your stack creates a channel element ability. You can also freely add/remove abilities with Mirajewels for Reynn and Lann. The mirages have something similar, where you can give a different ability to your mirages that they wouldn't have learned otherwise, which you can remove when you want. There's a lot to play with.

I'm enjoying the game despite how fucking horrible this dialogue is... my kids enjoy watching me play though.

Now the won't stop saying "the" all the fucking time though.. so there's that.

Just beat the PS Vita demo for this.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayum, this game is a LOOKER! I've watched a few bits of PS4 gameplay and the game is absolutely beautiful, but the PS Vita version looks so close... And here's the thing: That's not a knock against the PS4, it's an unbelievable technical achievement for the Vita!

The story seems cheerful and whimsical, and I love everything I've seen. I expected nothing from this game. I knew about it but it was barely in my radar. I'm so pleasantly surprised.

Will be picking this up on Vita for the holidays for sure!

I've noticed from the demo that the visuals aren't without Price. It lags noticeably at times.

lol, brilliant.

Wow. Glad to be help guys. I had a feeling a lot of people didn't know those two things. Shit, it took me about 20 hours myself to figure it out. Glad I shared.

It's remixes not originals btw

Yeah. I put up some of my favorites:

Refia - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKNsNKWGtSs
Warrior of Light - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Wxx4WwzVDw
Snow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP2NwgWyGAU
Squall - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK3GBe9pme0

I hope the full soundtrack comes out on Spotify. I was a bit disappointed with the Battle of the Bridges Theme and O'hoy Pirates Theme though. But most of the remixes are on point.

I thoroughly loved playing this game, just doing extra stuff now after completely finishing it. Just had an absolute blast with it.

Also wanted to drop this here. Link is to a google doc listing all mirages and where to get them as well as jewels etc. It has all of them listed so if you wanted to be surprised by some may want to avoid it. Was really helpful.
