Xbox One sells one million+ (sell through to consumers) in all territories worldwide

You make some interesting points. PS4 is outselling XB1.

Your creepy ass joy in the matter.. It just makes me reflect over the last 7 or 8 years.. Where you there making logical conclusions while MS was dominating North America?

Just admit it. You are just so horny for Sony.

For me it is a little rough. I was routing for MS, but it was clear a few months ago that they were not going to win. Maybe they can put some shit together and compete.

But your goofy ass is really Into this. You are measuring your penis behind a giant Japanese corp. and a giant American corp. you have nothing else going for you outside of these giant corporate clouds. I hope the PS4 wins, and wins big. Because I am not sure what you would do with yourself in a MS world.

well then....

I thought gaming was dead?

Solid numbers there, well done Microsoft.

Not as impressive as Sony, but that was to be expected based on pre-orders.

Only said by Nintendo fanboys to explain the total apathy the world has relative to WiiU.
Well, some of us were being really pessimistic. Not that a reverals isn't impossible here, but so far it does suggest that it's more that Nintendo banked on an audience that wouldn't stay around.

Hmm, how much new consoles did Halo 3 move? Around the vicinity of 500k, last I recall?

Titanfall should be able to match half of that.

A bit optimistic... Halo 3 was on one system... Titanfall will be on three. Gamers have choices with titan. Pick the superior version with 1080p and 60 frames with the right equipment on pc or stick with the 360. More importantly titanfall is a new game without being proceeded by 2 amazing games loved by the press and fans alike. They really should of made it an XO exclusive.

Good thing Xbox One has Titanfall this March, or MS would be royally fucked.

Are we forgetting about the elephant in the room that Titanfall is also being released on PC & Xbox360? 2 platforms that have a MUCH larger, established install base.

So far so good. First day or even first week, it's the cradle of the core gamers and tech enthusiasts that will buy both consoles. You know, all the people who made up their minds before features or games were even solidified.

But 2 - 3 million PS4s & XBOs sold against the 160 million PS3s and 360s shipped means we don't really know anything. It's a great start but if anything it's this gen's length that made people rush for the new thing and break records.

Captain obvious says we will know more after Christmas.

Nope. I think MS are royally fucked. Sony will steam roller them.

In EU? Certainly. I think they'll do some good numbers in the US and maybe the UK.
Numbers will be interesting when the 29th comes. And then Christmas is just around the corner as well.

Great launch for Xbox considering the year they've had. Imagine where it might have been if they didn't wake up and fix shit.

At a guess they are only about 300k behind the PS4 in NA, so while they would have liked more it's hardly insurmountable bearing in mind it's week 1.

It'll be very interesting to hear the numbers from NPD, not specifically console sales but attach rates and so on.

Of course, by the end on November Sony could be sitting at 2m sold if they got enough units to the EU. Then it's just going to be a straight fight over Christmas as both are sure to be sold out everywhere. Come January we might actually be able to see how things have shaken out
How many countries have the PS4 and X1 been released in thus far?

2 and 13 respectively. PS4 has another 38ish to go before Christmas. Nobody knows when Xbone will launch anywhere else.

A bit optimistic... Halo 3 was on one system... Titanfall will be on three. Please gamers can get the pic version and those waiting for halo can stick with the 360 version. More importantly titanfall is a new in that doesn't have the following halo had after two amazing games.

B-b-b-but teh marketing!!! /s

Frankly, it's hard to tell. Part of Titanfall's potential have to be gauged by a few factors, such as :
- sales performance of FPS titles of XB1 ( audience overlap )
- how many of the XB1 launch sales were already driven by Titanfall
- how much does the marketing disassociate the game from 360/PC
- lost audience due to online-only + competitive MP only
- new IP factor
- competition

Are we forgetting about the elephant in the room that Titanfall is also being released on PC & Xbox360? 2 platforms that have a MUCH larger, established install base.

shhhhh, no elephant, only marketing. /s

So I mean, that's a good start for Microsoft no doubt, but it's safe to say that Sony have sold roughly the same amount in far fewer countries. When they finally get those PS4s out in Europe, that's when it gets interesting!

Not even a day and they can already confirm 1 million sold through worldwide? I'll believe it when I see the receipts.

Eh, most major multinationals have no issue tracking sales nowadays though a combination of:

- unique product activation real-time tracking
- pre-order quantities
- retail distribution + sell-out estimation

The margin of error are very low for these kind of stuff. Generally they're rarely wrong.

I'm in an industry with a far less sophisticated technology of retail tracking, and we can track real-time sales logs within 12 hours of product sale.

I have seen quite a few people say the same. It would have made more sense for MS to keep it on xb1 only in March. It would have given people more of a reason to "upgrade". Titanfall being on other systems in March and the xb1 being $500 will keep some from buying it the system for just 1 game.

GAF are in for a rude awakening then. Most consumers don't have a clue. In fact, talking to one last night, he believed Xbone would get better ports because when he had a 360 and PS3 the games were noticeably better on the 360. I told him the PS4 was more powerful this time around, but I could see it didn't change his mind.

I don't understand why people still think hardware specs are, or should be, the only thing that matters to either the casual, uninformed consumer or even to the discerning and informed consumer. Just because the PS4 has a clear cut performance advantage doesn't automatically make it the only choice for people who love gaming.

sorry about his english
I'm not sure about that. I can't see Sony shipping more than 800, 000 or something on Friday as it is most of Europe but not every territory.

In Italy there are 100.00 Ps4preorder for day one vs 15.000 xbone preorder, I think that sony could sell more than 1 milion in all europe in the first 24h.

Man reading this thread you can see just how badly people were hoping to see the console bomb hard.

No matter how hard you try to spin this 1 mil units sold is very good.

Well Sony will easily win this holiday season. No doubt about it. The only question is by how much.

Uhm, didn´t you just say we don´t know how many both have been able to produce? What if Sony, potentially, would not be able to produce more than MS? How would they "win"?

Good thing Xbox One has Titanfall this March, or MS would be royally fucked.

Titanfall is not some savior. At most, it will keep Microsoft's hardware sales steady. The price difference and the fact that it is on PC/360 reduces the effect it will have. Sony seems to have a ton of great software in Q1 of 2014 as well.

I thought Sony said they expected 5 Million by March?

Underpromising and overdelivering is what drives stock prices up, and paints a glowing picture of your business in the short-term.

It also works as a safety buffer, so if shit happens and you only deliver 5 million, then you can tell investors you delivered your target and still be commended for it.
