Zelda’s Nintendo Switch 2 ports finally let you repair equipment – via a mobile app bonus

Nintendo Switch 2's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom ports look set to fix one of the two games' most divisive features, via its mobile app connectivity.

The Zelda Notes app also allows Switch 2 players to roll a random 'daily bonus' which can be stored and used in-game. This includes generic items like meals and health boosts, but as spotted by Zeltik, one of the rewards is "equipment repairs".

Item decay is one of the most divisive features in the two Switch Zelda games, with all but a few weapons decaying the more they're used, forcing players to seek different options.

Since item decay is a core feature of both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, introducing repairs has the potential to significantly alter the game balance. However, it's worth noting that the repair bonus is rewarded randomly and can only be rolled once every 24 hours.

It keeps being better and better.
Double the screen time, triple the frustration.

Seems like a total clickbait rage headline. A random 24 hr bonus repair is the biggest nothingburger I've ever seen. Its a double nothingburger Royale with cheese and a side of large fries.

Why is Nintendo always 2 gens behind when it comes to basic features? Like for real this shit is beyond obnoxious

Lol, game balance. Weapon breaking stops mattering a few hours in and just becomes an unnecessary irritation and the waste of time for the rest of the game.

After all these years people still haven't figured out that the weapons in those games are just ammo for the player to use.
Seems like Nintendo itself havent figured it out yet

I love that Nintendo showed the world how mid BOTW was by trying to fix evey major design choice in the game with TOTK. And now this.

Nintendo's greed is something else

You could already repair equipment in tears of the kingdom not that it matterrs since you weapons are like ammo and you will usually have an inventory full of good stuff.

to me its basically just like reloading, only thing is it should have an autoswap option so you dont gotta press dpad each time

There are 40-50 people on here who jump into every Nintendo thread and randomly scream about greed and how Nintendo sucks, without reading the OP. They read the title only and rub their hands at the opportunity to bust out their Nintendo meme.

But if you read the OP, you will see that it's a random reward every 24 hours, it's nothing, it's too little to have any meaning on the game.

This thread is using a tiny silly tidbit to console war.

My God, I have never seen people so salty on this forum about a console ever. It's a simple random prize every 24h that they have added in the mobile app and it doesn't affect or change the balance of anything.

There's a lot of shit on Nintendo and their policies, but the nervous breakdown that many people have around here these days is hilarious.

Yeah it's beyond tired.

Confirmed!! Nintendo reads GAF.
I'm pretty sure they read the comment of a delusional hardcore fan that said Nintendo is THE PREMIUM gaming brand. So they have been greenlit to charge top dollar for the more basic pieces of shit.
And they are ok with it, if Nintendo creates endless fun games, the fans are willing to pay thousands of dollars to play them at any cost:
Let's. Hope these morons wake up from this bad dream and their Nintendo high.
The children know no better. But their parents ffs.

Nintendo is readying miyanoto's bottled farts and they know these will sell at premium prices.

I really enjoyed flame swords in botw so I would sneak a stock up on a couple of them and then roll out.

I understand that people here see their loving company move to multiplayer games, and is gonna release Concord 2 this year, but the salt levels are beyond.

Company proceds to make rly shit decision.

Gaming fans: thats bad.

Nintendo retarded fans: why everyone is so salty?

This.

I get that you guys can't stand the looming global success of the Switch 2, but at this point, the salt is getting painfully predictable

Today it's a random feature but what tomorrow will bring ?

They are basically testing where the limits are right now.

Seems like they are trying to add some value to that shitty app. It's free stuff anyway, but I don't like having phone apps integrating into videogames at all, what a way to break immersion.

Fuck that, also the stupid notes or memories or whatever, I don't have to have the phone close for that, worst way to add content to a game ever. Damn. I'm skip all of that.
