I really hope Sucker Punch strives for a proper day/night cycle next time out with this same kind of dramatic lighting. It looks amazing, but it would be way more impressive to see the game transition to and from these conditions.

I'm being a debbie downer, but those trees and the textures of the building in the backgrounds are pretty low quality. That said, I already preordered it off of PSN and am very excited to play it, I'm just not seeing the insane graphical jump that others are. In motion I bet it looks great though, and then things I'm complaining about will be way less noticeable. For an open world game it looks fantastic and I've loved all previous InFamous titles. This next week is gonna be great. So in 2 weeks time I've gotten Southpark, Titanfall, MGSV:GZ, and InFamouse:SS. Glorious.

I think it's about how cohesive the visuals are. The simulations elements, reflections in puddles, illumination from his pretty particles, it all looks like it's at the same quality if that make sense.
A lot of games have oddly stand out elements, the obvious one is water, people will always say "the water is incredible" or "the water looked like shit", fire is another thing. InFamous' technical and artistic aesthetic is so caringly presented, it's really very impressive.
It's also very surprising to me. I really love InFamous 2, I think it was second only to TLoU in Sony's retail games last generation, and it was a technically impressive game for being open world, but it's not even close to the artistic achievement SS is. I wonder if they've got new art people.
Yeah, the HUD is embarrassing.If I had one bone to pick, it definitely would be the HUD. I still really don't like it and I'd like the option to disable it at the very least.

Look harder. One of the earliest ones posted had like 20 pedestrians in it.
Besides, the "dead city" complaint is old hat. The new hotness is "gameplay" (as if that should even be a concern for a Sucker punch game, as that studio is well-known for PERFECT controls since the days of the Sly games,) and some complaints about LOD (which it seems to be doing as good as or better than any open world game, but people are still nitpicking.)

Seriously, now that the retail copies are in the wild and screenshots are out and looking amazing, doesn't it seem like there's a wave after wave of almost coordinated talking-points from certain posters working at downplaying the game?
After playing the game all day, it is downright lol inducing to read the nitpicking of the game. Some comments look like they are talking about another game. Exclusives....
I think the PS4 library so far has been really appalling, now this and Metal Gear are finally coming, but it feels like everyone on GAF has them a week early.
It's going to be a really long week. Even with Sony dropping the VR bomb.

Game looks out of this world. Wish the UI was a bit more understated, looks like it's from an early-2000s skateboarding game or something.
This is making me want to buy it and I don't even have a PS4.
I really did not like the first two Infamous games so no matter how good the graphics look I just can not get excited about the game.
