E3 2015 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3

Would love some direct feed/60fps footage. The quality of the stream - for me - wasn't too hot, but I can see the game has a nice look to it.

I get the feeling Treehouse is getting a fraction of views they got last year.

Disappointing digital event that didn't showcase anything that people really wanted to see more of kind of does that. Shame because the Treehouse was the best part of last year and looks like it's the best part of this year as well.

Nintendo needs to get Shinen to write them an engine.

Or work on the graphical features of the NX for them like Factor 5 did for the Gamecube.

Demoscene guys are the best.

If I am not mistaken, they did work on some official tools for the GBA didn't they? So I mean, there's precedent.

Its a shame that a 5 man company's game looks much better than Nintendo's new Starfox. It just proves that Nintendo completely gave up the Wii U, if you compare textures and lighting it's like a entire generation difference between FAST and Starfox. Same applies to many other Nintendo Wii U games.

I just can't understand Nintendo...

Last year was between 50k-80k apparently. Seems like the bad reveals deterred interest but the ~20k pull seems to imply that Treehouse is still something people are interested in, particularly compared to other publishers.

It only got 50 to 80 the first day and most of that was because of the Smash tournament was right after the Treehouse. It steady to around 20 to at most 30k for day two and less the final day because they repeated a lot of games.

So Nintendo has this coming out exclusively on their system this year, and chose NOT to put it in their E3 digital event?

Are you fucking kidding me?

It looks fantastic. Day one.
There was barely any talk of indies...ehr..Nindies on it. They 've bren giving them their own spotlight like the @Home promo, Mutant Mudds on monday, Runbow yesterday, etc.

Shin'en delivered

what's the asking price for this shit? I'll pay every cent for it.
Their games are usually under $20.

FE Fates. Nohr path Conquest today (Chapter 7 I guess, apparently that was what was on the save menu yesterday).

I guess Hoshdio Birthright path tomorrow.

This is the comment you quoted.

This is your response. Either you don't understand why 5 people who want to work independent of the influence of major publishers would be disinclined to work on a major Nintendo-owned IP, or you didn't read.

Lol. Guess I did indeed not se the thing about them liking to wok on their own! That sucks then - time for the big N to open the war chest!

Starfox is Platinum, Nintendo's WiiU stuff has all been quality GFX-wise.

Real talk I didn't even think a lot of the conference was bad but stuff like this? The pre and post-announcements make me realize that so much ire, a deal of it deserved, could have been avoided if they just revealed and showed this shit for the conference. They could have made it so much more exciting.

The Treehouse is, yet again, making me think much more favorably of Nintendo's E3 presence.

Joke post? Comparing the complexity of either game none at all.

Axiom Verge needs a Wii U port.
Metroid can still be saved!

Isn't Igarashi's game coming to Wii U?

Well if people didn't get it last year, they're never going to get it I guess...

Is it just me or is Twitch constantly perma-freezing?

It only fixes when I refresh but it happens too often.
In my case having quality set to source actually crashes the tab in Chrome after a few minutes. Turning quality down stops that (but no longer 60 fps as source is the only 60fps one)

Is not wasted. They're only like 5 people and like working on their own. No pressure, no deadlines. They do love Nintendo.

Yes, only 5 guys, but they work a lot faster and better, than many big studio's do. So something tells me they would have a shitload of time to spare even working under strict deadlines.

The games last year were much bigger games then this year too, Smash bros, Hyrule Warriors, Bayo 2, Splatoon a new big IP, Xenoblade gameplay for the first time, Devils Third and 3DS games

This year the games are just not on those levels

Which is understandable.
My excitement is quite zipped because of Nintendo as whole in this E3.

Well that's a shame because the treehouse is as good as ever.

I think Nintendo puts more emphasis on the treehouse than the digital event, and I'm okay with that.

Is it just me or does the whole "choose which path" thing feel very Game of Thrones-inspired....

I mean obviously GoT isn't the first thing to do that shit, but it feels like "well... people seem to really like that shit, let's apply that to Fire Emblem."

Except hopefully with way less unnecessary sexual violence...

because
decision happens in Chapter 6
?

Yep,
chapter 6 is the chapter.

Instead of sex we have face rubbing, that's even more offensive!

it's great that people are hyped for this but I wonder if y'all were there for FAST on WiiWare
I tried the demo of the Wii one. It didn't feel good to play so I didn't buy. This Wii U sequel looks like it handles a lot better and actually seems fast. Great job Shinen.

It's not an F-zero replacement though, I hope no one goes into it thinking that. It doesn't look to have twitch-precision mechanics like F-zero.

I shouldn't have to say this, but I will. It's general easier to make a racer game to look graphical impressive than a flight game with a lot of environments, levels, and more parts. And, once again, it has several more months before release. Nintendo generally do not polish the game graphically until near the end.

Seriously, all of you need to stop this until Star Fox is close to release, unless you want to eat crow like the people who grip about how bad 3D World look.

Is it just me or does the dark haired woman sound a lot like one of the female voice options for Robin in FE: Awakening?

No it's confirmed to be 2 physical releases in NA, + 3rd story DLC. Like in Japan.

The E3 press site heavily implies it's just one version and that you choose which side you align yourself with in a critical junction of the game. The fact that it's only being marketed as Fire Emblem Fates rather than Fire Emblem Fates Hoshido etc. seems to imply this as well. The wording specifically says:

During the game, the player must make the choice between Hoshido and Nohr. Each path will offer a completely different storyline with a different set of characters to recruit as allies.
