E3 2015 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3

really cool to have both these modes in one game

can't wait to pick up federation force

I am hoping things get better with Federation Force. Its going to be a game to get if the schedule is weak (February 2016).

next level games did not make one bad game aside of maybe the first mario strikers. people should give them the benefit of a doubt.

I loved the first Mario Strikers too. I haven't played their non-Nintendo stuff.

This looks fun. Metroid fans are upset about it using the name, but that doesn't change how good it looks.

At the end of the day "Metroid" is just a word, a brand. What we are seeing is the struggle between people who care more about games (as an experience) or brands (the experience of being a brand loyalist).

I personally think the game looks fun if not a little rough. I can understand Metroid fans being upset that there isn't a main title, but really their behavior has been inexcusable. I lost all sympathetic for them and somewhat spiteful hope this game becomes a big seller just to spite them. Plus the meltdown would be the stuff of legends.

This is not as bad as everyone thinks it is.

Or it's not as good as you think it is :p.

I actually think Blast Ball looks more interesting than the main game, which just seems like a generic space shooter with a lockon mechanic that kind of takes away the fun from shooting. But I don't know that it'll have much depth.

Though tbh I think it looks more fun just because it's a take on soccer and obviously soccer is fun.

Despite the irrational hatred, between this and the hunting missions it looks like a lot of fun.

lol

Honestly the two viewport excuse doesn't hold up. Yes it's an extra cost, especially in 60 fps, but not nearly enough to explain how basic starfox looks.

There's plenty of WiiU games and last gen games with many times as much stuff going on in one screen than starfox has in two; and given the resolution of the gamepad the cost for rendering it is relatively low.

It looks like they wanted to stay really close to the N64 designs, which may have worked with more impressive lighting and and other effects, but now it just really plain.

I agree it looks barren. Not a big fan of it either. Just trying to understand why - the 2 different angles is just me trying to understand it.

I would be that asshole killing players and not the ball in Blast Ball. If you ever find one guy like that online (if this game has online), it will probably be me.

I just caught Fast Racing Neo.

...Why wasn't this in the Digital Event. Yes, I know Treehouse showcases and all that, but... People are morons. They only pay attention to what's in front of them (myself included lots of time).

I feel like... not only is Nintendo suffering for not giving certain titles the spotlight, but the games and developers of said games will suffer.

and the funny thing is they dont even buy the games. metroid games sell like shit

Well, this did nothing for me. And still no talk about singleplayer :(

I actually really liked Other M, so I would definitely prepare that. Cut the linearity and the baby, and we ahve s solid Metroid.

I'm right there with you. I thought Other M was a pretty good Metroid game.

Hard to say about the depth until we have a better idea of how many and how diverse the missions are, but yeah, this doesn't have the aiming and cover-taking combat focus of most FPS, and doesn't have the exploration or singular moody atmosphere of Metroid Prime. Instead, four-player missions and everyone apparently picking from a shared pool of gear and weaponry puts the focus on teamwork and everybody properly executing specific roles, which is indeed not something Nintendo personally has delved into much. Nothing earth-shatteringly new for the industry at large, but you can see where the idea kinda originated from.
