That reminds me of how "THE RING MUST BE DESTROYED" was in all the trailers/ads for Fellowship of the Ring but it never made it into the movie. Or at least I completely missed it, even in the Special Extended Edition.

...What? Its in the council of Elrond scene, both cuts.

Marvel wanted the villains & cosmic characters associated with the F4 (Doctor Doom, Kang the Conquerer, Annihilus, Galactus, Silver Surfer, Kl'rt/Super-Skrull, etc.).

Really? I thought they only wanted to barter for Galactus and Silver Surfer when the DD deadline started coming up.

The really weird one is Viper, who isn't even a superhuman in her female incarnation in the comics, being turned into a mutant in The Wolverine. Like, what?

It's Fox. What do you expect?

Some of the X-Films might be good, but they just do whatever the hell they want with the characters.

Is anyone even surprised by these?

I loved Chronicle and was hyped at first with the announcement, but every bit of info and media has just stunk.

"It's clobbering time" is something Ben Grimm's abusive brother used to say before he slapped him about. Comic book fans will love that.

Holy hell, unreal. I bet whoever came up with this was patting themselves on the back too.

I don't even know how they have any claim on the character, though, since she's a tried-and-true Captain America villain.

Man I can't wait to see this on Friday all the weird shit I've read about this movie has my interest piqued.

Fantastic 4 [OT]: Third time lacks charm
Fantastic 4 [OT]: Subar 4
Fantastic 4/10 [OT]:
Fantastic 4 [OT]: More like sucktastic 4 am i right
Fantastic 4 [OT]: From the studio that brought you X3
Fantastic 4 [OT]: Fox's Third Fantastic Fuck up
Fantastic 4 [OT]: Fourth Fantastic Four Film: Fox's Third Fucking Failure
Fantastic 4 [OT]: Fox get to keep the rights for at least another 8 years

Eh. if you're going in for the kill that would be:

Fantastic 4 [OT]: Funny, Fraudulent, Failure, Flop
(I'm thinking of that thing on Last Week Tonight where Helen Mirren narrates some children's book and it goes straight to torture. That and: Tinker, Tailer, Soldier, Spy. )
Fantastic 4 [OT]: That shot from the trailer got Galactussed. It's up in the clouds.
Fantastic 4 [OT]: It's TRIGGERING time!
Fantastic 4 [OT]: Shorter trailer than Transformers 4
Fantastic 4 [OT]: That's right Jay, it's Fantastic!

I feel kind of bad for the director though. This things has basically been targeted for failure since conception, and not just by the internet.
Did I mention I actually like Terminator: Genisys once you get passed the internet vitrol?

She has a lot of history with Wolverine. Maybe this is one of those shared character deals. Not that the character in Wolverine resembled the comic character in any way.

I don't feel bad for him, from all reports he was a total jackass.

I guess this year felt weaker for comic book movies because Marvel didn't blow our minds on the level of Winter Soldier or Guardians (though Ant-Man was the pleasant surprise of the two MCU films this year). But in all honesty, Marvel's 2014 was a tough act to follow. Then there's the F4 reboot that, from the looks of the reviews, shat the bed this year as far as CBMs go.

Only big thing left for this year is Episode VII. This year did feel a bit empty for some reason compared to last year. 2016 will be crazy though with Civil War, BvS, Suicide Squad, Deadpool, Assassins Creed, Doctor Strange and Apocalypse.

Define big? We still have a Pixar film, Bond, and Mockingjay Pt 2 before Star Wars.

All of those are way bigger than anything we have had in the past month since Minions.

"It's clobbering time". That's how they shoehorned it in?

Hey, look at the brightside I guess, maybe Fox will follow Sony's lead and let Marvel use the rights if they want.

There's way too much bad blood between them for that to happen. Even if Fox and Disney are playing ball on Star Wars for the most part, that doesn't mean that Fox and Marvel are going to start liking each other.

The only way I can see to make an FF movie cool is to go all Kirby psychedelic. The inherent super-family concept is a little too corny to work as a straight ahead blockbuster. Even the comics have been grappling with that forever. Future Foundation would be too complex and brainy to work as a movie (animated series could work though).

Does Fox even have anything to do with Star Wars going forward? I think they only own the rights to the first film, and the distribution to the other five.

They won't have any say on anything Disney wants to do with new films, but being such a big owner for the original films gives them a big chunk of the pie that Disney can't ignore.

Fox owns distribution to Star Wars (1977) in perpetuity, and distribution to the other 5 films til 2020.
