Oh my god competitive CS:GO is so good with the controller. I am now officially performing way above my m/kb level. Instant headshots as soon as I see people most of the time. I used the new official bindings (since they broke my previous setup) and did some edits to make stuff actually work. Weapon selection on face buttons, gyro always on, jump/crouch on the grips and stuff like Use/Voice Commands/Drop/Bomb on the d-pad touch mode. What an insane input device this is. I have even learned how to track corners with my aim while moving now using my thumb.
The reason this works so well is because I'm aming with my entire arms rather than my wrist. Professional players use their arms with a very low sense to move the mouse, of course - but my mouse space is very limited in size and I've only ever been able to play from the wrist. Great for RTS, not so great for FPS. The gyro is essentially equal in precision to using mouse from your arm/shoulder. You might not see a drastic improvement coming from the latter, but its at least on par imo.
This is my new go-to solution btw. Find official developer bindings and then tweak them. Obviously community binds will catch up at some point but its a minefield right now so I wouldn't even bother.
