She's a grifter like he is, but it's incredibly retarded on his part to call this being doxed.

The lawsuit is public record that can be looked up by any American citizen.

Most competent content creators maintain a different PO Box through a service to avoid situations like being served at their home and getting their personal address on a court document.

Also by crying about it publicly he basically showed his ass to trolls and they might fuck with him. Just supremely retarded behavior all-round.

(I do want to read that lawsuit though, love reading drama filings like this and I'm sure I'll find entertainment there).

All I will say is, NY Anti-SLAPP laws is remarkably weak, so he might get really fucked up if this lawsuit proceeds, there's a non-zero chance his ass gets owned just through court fees alone.

She told the entire world that she left Kotaku and now she finally admits that she got fired, lol. Frivolous lawsuit, she will lose this.

It's a dick move for sure, but my point still stands. I checked his site and he has no mailing address to forward things to, so her only "recourse" is to serve to his home address and that gives her a "reason". This was entirely preventable from his side.

Also it seems like he threw a big celebration when she got doxed, so from my POV, it's trash getting back at trash really. No one is covering themselves in glory here lol.

Reading the filing, her case seems weak on the whole, but the one thing she got him dead to rights on is the defamation part, where he knowingly told people that she sucked dicks for money and implied he had knowledge of it, he even got told to walk that specific statement back by someone on Twitter and yet still persisted like the retard he is. I think a lot of her stuff will get tossed out, but this one won't unless he can prove it.

If she gets NY state for jurisdiction then his ass is completely fucked no matter what the judge decides at the end, because Anti-SLAPP laws there are basically non-existent and won't protect him from incurring heavy legal costs while he makes his case, similar to the Asterios Kokkinos case if you ever heard of it (read here if you didn't).

The particular paragraph to pay attention to is this one:

Despite most defendants being California residents (including Dick and Maddox, who live just a few miles apart), the suit is filed in New York, a venue appropriate only for, at best, two of the many defendants — Asterios and his employer. Seems like a very dumb idea to rant about it in a YT video as well. My man probably has zero clue about the actual law if I had to take a wild guess and when you don't, in my experience it's best to shut the fuck up and have a lawyer review and advise before you make a fool of yourself. Personal opinions on whether it's "silly" don't matter.

Like I don't recall the exact figure, but she's saying that his cumulative posts and videos about her is like +200, and if that's right, then he's really squeezing all the blood out of that stone.

I can upload a link to the filing pdf on like mediafire or something but I have an errand I have to run 1st. It's honestly a fun read because there's some nonsensical stuff in the complaint (wtf is stochastic terrorism? Rofl)

No one makes dozens of videos about the same topic unless there's something in it for him. At some point you get bored and run out of things to say about it.

"Grifter" is a term that gets tossed around pretty casually now. "Grifter" really means a con man, a swindler - someone who does not believe in what he/she is selling and is just spinning a yarn in order to make money. Their sole purpose, their only motive, is to sucker people out of money.

But that doesn't describe JT (or some of the other anti-woke Youtubers who get labelled as "grifters") because - in addition to the obvious monetary incentive - they are also motivated by a genuine concern about the issues they're addressing. A grifter is only motivated by money. JT et al are motivated by money, to be sure, but they also believe in pushing back on the woke stuff in gaming. So they don't really fit the definition of grifter.

That's not to deny they are following the money - like most Youtubers, they put out content that is designed to get clicks and will often use misleading or exaggerated headlines, and they will feed their audience red meat they know their audience wants. They know what videos get the clicks, and they keep on churning out more of it, because they get money for it. But if that's all "grifter" meant, nearly everyone on Youtube would be a "grifter," because they all chase the clicks/money.
