Just completed the download and steam started downloading the whole game again :-(, so 16 more hours of downloading.
Dude I don't even know why you are trying. Wait for the official patch, otherwise keep downloading that shit n times.

I feel that Steam refund system will be a game changer for shoddy ports. They just can't get away with it now. Coupled that with Steam reviews, and mainstream media writing about these ports and I can say that developers won't be able to ignore their mess.
Development is now at Qloc so it should be fine soon enough. Was Mortal Kombat X ever salvaged?
If you want the best version right now then go with PS4 as it has:
- a solid 30fps framerate (where even PC's with a 980 are dipping below 30)
- Ambient Occulsion
- better textures
The only thing PC has going for it is:
-NVidia gameworks graphical features
Ambient Occlusion ..such a basic feature w/ PC games, I'm guessing this wasn't intentional and it'll get added in.
You misunderstood what I was saying. I'm saying that the performance hiccups could mostly be due to the coding of whatever they decided to add. And yes, you can make an UE3 game stress hardware to it's limits.. quite easily. Just double the resolution of all the maps being stored (i.e. shadow, normal, texture, etc..) double the amount of geometry on screen at once. Make every light a shadow caster, etc.. etc..

I had noticed that Geforce experience prompted me that it had downloaded optimization information, so I clicked on it, and this is what I saw... Ain't this the truth:
Here's hoping. I really hope this generates enough backlash to affect their bottom line. It propably won't but they really couldn't ignore this then.
The PS4 has better textures than the PC, even on the highest settings? How can they explain that?

Okay, I see what you're saying, my bad.
If anyone wants to know the REAL reason why this port feels rushed:

The team doing the port consisted of merely 12 devs...

Just had an entire fight in an area and the high-res textures never loaded in. All the floors and walls were low-res PS1 looking garbage. And I've had it before where the textures just never pop in. Game's installed on an SSD, too.
What the fuck is going on with this game, people? Why not just delay the PC version like they did before? God this is a trainwreck.
As Jasec have already said, they didn't get 2 months, but the ID was updated 2 months ago. They could have been working on for months before.

Borrowed pics from the main OT, here's an example of the missing rain/water shader.

damn i knew i wasn't trippin out about that
so weird how some of these effects could be overlookoed
All right so after redownloading the game to get the proper build the game is totally playable right now.
I get a constant 30fps. The problem is that even if technically the FPS are mostly locked at 30, I still get some stutter here and there, especially when turning the camera and during the batmobile segments. It's really annoying but not a deal breaker. Hopefully there's a way to fix that at some point.
Would you say that regardless of time, the resullt = shit effort.
I hope Dice doesnt do this with Battlefront. I mean...with the PS4 having 8gb ddr5...i hope multi plat titles don't start raising the vram requirements before $300 graphic cards with 8gb vram start shipping.
This doesn't mean shit.
Various remasters on PS3 and likely PS4 were done by teams of only a handful of people and those games turned out fine.
Just noticed something.
The RAM usage starts around 4500 when I load up the game and it steadily rises until it's apparently using all 8GB. Even if I'm doing nothing. Standing in a corner, where it's quiet.
I have never, ever seen a game do that.
Double checked with The Witcher 3, a far bigger and better looking game may I add, and it hovers around 4800ish. Not constantly rising.
Is there anyone with more than 8GB? 16GB maybe? Can you find out if it uses all 16?
Could it be a memory leak that's causing all the stuttering?

With 16gb consumes 8100mb with the game on max settings 1440p

Yup. They needed way more time with this and were pressured with the release date. WB probably didn't want to delay this one due to all the hype so they just pushed it out. This port seems like it was 50% there.Yeah, a 12 person port team isn't necessarily a problem. It's most likely that the blame lies with WB since they ultimately have the final say on release dates and milestones. They could have delayed this but they didn't. They could also have underfunded the port.
Wheres the proof that ps4 has higher textures?

Consoles don't have 8gB of VRAM, it's 8gB of all purpose ram, so it's both VRAM and regular RAM. So don't worry about that.
So as I've already said, SLI doesn't work. however for those of us with two cards, if you set your second card to "PhysX Dedicated" the framerate will near double.
Still waiting for SLI drivers... and motion blur options...
Huh.
Maybe I'm way off base then.
*shrugs*
I wonder why the recommended specs say 55GB free space. My installation is only 36.3GB.
no. play your PS4 version which is better in pretty much every way
ive actually typed that. mark the day

Getting 30FPS most of the time, we the occasional drop by 2-3 FPS. Once it dropped to 20FPS for God knows what reason.

From my personal experience, the game runs decently and is, imo, quite pretty, though there's a few things I have to ask questions about (what's up with the AA? Why the film grain? What the hell does Enchanced Rain do?)
