Canadian Gaming "Deals" and Discussion Thread 6: Sorry, We Can't Afford a New Thread

Ah, the ol' Logitech double-click. Had it happen on my G500. It's usually a mechanical issue so firmware update wouldn't have saved you. Logitech is usually excellent when it comes warranty, so it sucks you couldn't have taken advantage of it.

I'm considering biting on a G502 just to have as a backup for if (when) my G600 develops the double-click issue. Nice to know it's a worthy substitute!

I recently bought the G502 as well. I was a bit apprehensive as its a thinner layout than the old school Logitech sculpt but it turns out to work just fine. I don't particularly notice the lack of horizontal grip and it's really a great mouse. Weird looking, but Logitech continues to have the best nice nonetheless.

It will be 349.99 this coming Friday. RCSS will have the best offer.

Looks like you are set. RCSS will definitely have the best offer among the stores because of their "no sale tax".

EDIT: So most stores will have the PS4 for 369.99 and XB1 for 349.99. The RCSS will have the best offer among them since there's no tax on it

Is there a link for it? Sounds like a good deal!

I was considering waiting until next year, but I'm unsure how good a deal I'll get if I wait till April-ish.

Any good Black Friday deals on a decent computer package with or without a monitor? I'd like to get into some PC gaming but would rather skip the "order individual parts and build it yourself" response I always get when asking about PC gaming.
Get someone in the PC thread or maybe even here to help put together the part list. Order it on NCIX with their $50 assembly option. They'll assemble and ship it to you (or you can pick it up for free) with a one year warranty. You can also use PC Part Picker or another site to compare prices and price match each individual part. By far the best way to get a "prebuilt" computer.

Buy 1 get 2 free on clearance ($4.97) games at Staples lol

Anything worth a few bucks left? Wasn't Staples' game clearance a long time ago? I imagine there must be next to nothing left.

probably about as YMMV as it gets

in the flyer there were pictures of Bioshock Infinite and Mass Effect 3 but who knows if that means anything

I don't need to replace my MX518 but all this mouse talk is making me consider getting a backup haha.

Nothing really jumps out at me so far. Might get a cheap SSD.

We need a preorder/shipping thread. Lol. You guys are saving no dollars lol

The truth is painful. Now that we know TP Amiibo bundle is $99 I'm glad I preordered at $79. Anyone try to get Amazon to price match Best Buy $79 preorder?

I hope Nintendo does some eshop deals. I wouldn't mind picking up Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for like $30 to play during the holidays.

I've very little faith is Eshop deals being any good. I have even less faith in seeing any game I want on sale anytime soon.

Pretty pleased lol. So glad I canceled my E3 order.

I hope I can find me one of these at a BB store in my city.

might go for Type-0 for 20 at BB. need to build my backlog

Thanks to BBs clearance my backlog expanded immensely and Amazon screwing up for me also did it lol.

Amazon doesn't PM - if you have an e3 order you could try to convince them to adjust the price with the discount.

Someone's gotta have a Black Friday PS4 not bundled with remasters.

Unless a retailer is going to eat the cost, it's going to be first party bundles. And Sony is willing to absorb the cost of Uncharted: Collection, TLoU:R etc which is why most promos are w/ first party remasters.

Bottom line: I wouldn't hold my breath for Star Wars bundle.

Same goes w/ Gears Bundle for X1s.

So I just got a random call from bestbuy saying "your Rock Band 4 bundle is ready for pickup" I was all like "ummm... I never reserve stuff for pickup, and had mine ship and arrive more than a month ago."

Double checked my account and email. Nothing. So weird. Their system/site must really be messed up.

Just someone that miss-entered their phone number when doing ISPU, IMO.

Not sure what's happening with 3DS games at BB today but I just got Luigis Mansion for $23... may be worth investigating if other games have these unmarked and unadvertised sales.

Man, I was really hoping for a Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band deal. Cannot justify those prices as are. I'm close enough to the border, it might even be worth driving down there for one.

When does EB Games release their Black Friday deals? I want to trade in my day 1 xbox one for an elite but holding off to see if they are going to have a free game or something.

Anyone ever seen something like this? I've always had my stuff delivered directly to my door. There is no community mailbox or otherwise for my address. Find it odd that the out for delivery and the successfully delivered are mere minutes away from each other.

It's not uncommon for them to mark things as delivered before they actually deliver anything like that. It should show up as usual before the end of the day.

That happened to me once before here in Vancouver. It turned out that my local post office had the package, and delivery was never even attempted.

The hell? I won't have time to game hunt until Wednesday AND I KNOW I gonna miss out on the good stuff.

Which one? There's definitely a noticeable difference in materials, workmanship, and sound quality between a $100 guitar and a $500 guitar, but as long as it doesn't sound weird, it should be fine as an entry-level guitar. Stay away from those $50 guitars from XS Cargo or whatever, man those sound totally wrong.
This one

I'm headed down to my local BB after work today. How did you spot the price on LM2? Was it tagged, or did you just bring up random games to the register to check?

Edit:
Actually cancel that my reservation was denied for EOU2 so I won't bother going down.

I'm bored and its my lunch. Time to lounge around BB again.

Vancouver people sorry there's nothing worthwhile at the Robson store.

it's really shitty and weird that every bundle seems to include a remaster. how fucking boring, even if some of those games are fantastic.
Not weird at all when you consider the amount of people who skipped the PS3 but are picking up the PS4. They're great pack-ins for those people.

I wanted Mirai, but I was busy over the weekend and apparently all the BB around me have sold out. I wonder if I can make BB price match if I buy it online.

What are you guys hoping to score on sale for Black Friday?

I want Witcher 3 for PS4 and Monster Hunter 4/Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for 3DS.

CanadaGAF, an awesome friend of mine just gifted me $40. But they're US codes, so I have to use my US account to redeem them. I want to buy Fallout 4 with it but I have a few questions as I've never bought anything outside of Canadian PSN before.

1. Where can I buy US digital codes?
2. Does the American store charge tax? My location is set to NYC. Will a $20 code be enough.
3. Is there anything specific I should know before doing so?

I've got a proper account set up with a legit email, date of birth is legit and everything so I'm not worried about that (I already lost a UK account because of a bogus DOB) just never done it before that's all.

Thanks.

Asked an employee and Legend of Legacy is indeed out of stock in all of Montreal's Best Buys if anyone is still looking for it...

Steam sales. Nothing else seems interesting so far. EBGames might come through but history shows that's unlikely. Already bought a few games from the Best Buy clearance (though I never bit on Puzzle and Dragons Mario and now it's sold out, but I'm not that bothered). Hard to imagine what else I could buy that wouldn't be cheaper in the new year anyways (mainly Halo 5).

I've actually heard from a handful of those very people (owned Wii or 360 last gen and want a PS4 this Black Friday/Boxing Day) and have specifically asked me what bundles there are that don't have "shitty old games included".

clearly the fact that they are including god tier games like TLOU or GTA V doesn't mean much, at least from my small anecdotal sample. my friends aren't exactly what I'd call "hardcore" gamers, either... they just have no interest in buying a new console just to play old PS3 games on it.

it has to play the new COD and FIFA doe

You can buy US codes from Amazon. You might get deals from BST on GAF.
Set your address to Delaware to avoid tax.
That's it, I believe.

There was no tag on the shelf or anything listed online. Went into the store on my lunch break to grab a copy at regular price and was quite surprised to find the discount on my receipt. Asked the cashier if there was a mistake and she told me nope, it was in the system. For reference, this was at the Bay and Dundas store in Toronto.
