I wouldn't be so concerned with getting the Fire Emblem SE if there was a way to get the item bonuses on the two physical copies. It's so stupid how you either have to purchase the SE for that, or buy a physical/digital copy + digital copies of the other two remaining games.
Why can't I purchase the physical copy of both, and the digital copy of the third version, and get all of the bonus items? It's just a headache. ~_~

Seeing how we've been blessed with an actual time, we can be prepared to pounce given that knowledge but so can everyone else so I suspect it'll sell out amazingly fast even compared to the Amazon listing that didn't even make it an entire hour.
The one saving grace might be if Best Buy puts their listing up beforehand as it will help to dilute things. (At least for people who actually want the game... RFD reseller sharks will be undeterred no matter what the circumstances as they'll be loading up with dozens of copies in hopes of lucrative resales.)

I had a slew of Black Friday orders from Amazon so I figure that motivated them to not squat on my sub-$20 XCX purchase (as I had expected they would) as they just threw it in with the rest of the stuff I bought.
That said, I still went with free shipping so everything is still listed as "on track to arrive today" but given the absence of a morning arrival scan at my local post office from the Mississauga warehouse, I'm still not trusting it. May arrive over the weekend. I'm cool either way... if I wanted a timely arrival instead of appreciable savings, I'd have ordered the game elsewhere.

Mine (SE and Regular) were shipped December 2nd, will arrive December 7th (Prime shipping).
I made a reservation for Xenoblade this morning at the Bay & Dundas (Toronto) Best Buy. Just got an email saying the reservation could not be completed. What the hell? Did they not get their shipment, or is it seriously sold out already?

I have had that EXACT conversation with them. Literally the same thing. I live in Vancouver, a solid 40 minute drive from one of their warehouses, and I didn't understand why Free Shipping items, which would normally come on release day, were taking so long.
I had pretty much the same exchange, and that's when I found out their skeezy policy change to manufacture slower ship times, where the shipping speed isn't "time in transit" but actually "time until we get off our ass and send it out". That's why that standard "Usually Ships in 24 Hours" message that most sites have doesn't appear on Amazon.

Amazon holding games hostage for people who elect to roll with free shipping is nothing new. It's to encourage people to sign up for Prime. I didn't get my copy of the Nathan Drake collection until almost two weeks after its street date. There's not really anything that can be done about it bar taking a strip off a support agent over chat.
Well, it's relatively new. In the past year or so. Last year I got 90% of my E3 games day one with free shipping.
