Results that were very easy to anticipate:
Xbox: (-29%) I even think that it has sold more than expected given the following.
-No notable offers.
-No promotion/marketing whatsoever.
-No XSX/S special console hardware revisions
-Compete vs a PS5 slim almost $100 cheaper and more options and bundles. Situations where PS5 slim was only $40 more expensive than 500GB XSS
-Compete vs a PS5Pro launch.
-"You don't need an XBOX console" campaign
-Announcement of more first party games on PS5.
Basically, MS doesn't care if they don't sell more consoles and lose more market share. They only make sure they don't lose money per console with promotions.
Last year NOV was also zero in offers and then in December great offers were made and this was reflected in huge sales. This year December is worse than November in terms of offers.
I stopped understanding the meaning of what the leaders of MS/Xbox do and think a long time ago.
PS5: (+15% dollars) . I don't know, those really are figures that generate debate.
-PS5Pro launch month that costs ~$700. Numbers below PS4Pro (understandable for the price)
-Very good PS5 offers and promotions -Xbox Debacle
At least they can say that they are number 1 and that the hardware works healthily in a console market that not only does not grow but is even decreasing. We will have to see the coming months and how PS5Pro evolves in sales.
Switch: (-3%) Well, incredible results for a hardware that expects a replacement in a few months and that sells software by the ton.... More than healthy sales at the end of its cycle for a hardware that competes against itself.
