Also only 12.3 million kills? Let say 40 kills per match(and that's low balling it), so around only 300,000 matches played or so over the whole weekend? When its free?

If you needed any more proof that this game is fucked then they just put it in a tweet for us all to see lol.

LOL. The most played characters are a white/latino looking dude and an asian women. And hipster Shrek made #3. Even the 5th highest is a beep beep alien(?) in a spacesuit.

All the obvious DEI characters didnt make it.

I thought maybe the big yellow robot or the crazy drugged up elf chick would be up there too for laughs. Guess not.

But looks like 3 of the top 4 (1, 2, 4) are just normal looking people with a bit of pimped out costume. But normal enough. #1 Teo is just your standard soldier dude.

Hilarious that the most picked character is the only White Male He/Him there is.
I daresay it's more that he was the most "normal" character to other games in regards to loadout. I know that's why I picked him. Grenades and machine gun, not some silly flower thing or vacuum gun.

Just how big were the maps?

As PYSGN and AgatonSax said in the other Concord threat, believe it or not these arent human sized characters. They are actually giants.

391 billion miles divided by 12.3 million kills = 31,000 miles travelled per kill.

Doing some offline math, I think they meant to say 391 Thousand Miles. Divided into the 12.3M kills leads to a fraction of a mile traveled per kill. Or at most 3.91 Million Miles.

Maybe its because that's what most of the audience identifies with.
Sure if that's the narrative you want to believe. I know personally I picked him because I wanted a straight forward gun and grenade character to start out with. Only played about 25 matches, and didn't bother trying any of the others.

Edit - And honestly, I don't play games because I identify with one of the characters. I play games if they are fun and pick characters based on what stuff they have, not whether I want to shag them or not.

yo wtf? How are they calculating this?

1. Not a lot played the beta

2. I don't recall this even being some large map Battlefield type game.

So...I have no clue how that makes sense or how they are adding it up, I thought the game was like a slower pace or something? Is it a like an arena shooter?

Fuck knows mate. Clearly that is completely made up.

Its not a narrative.

Looking at that roster its the first character I would pick (and did) i had no idea how they played beforehand. I'm certainly not wanting to play as fat cunt in a blue bubble jacket.

Guess they kinda confirmed there's not a delay lol. Can't wait to see the amazing launch day numbers.
The Beta was just a warm up. This is going to be a car crash. GAF loves those.

Lets face it that's why we are all here, to celebrate both the good and bad in videogames.

Aren't they on a space ship or something?

So if the average player played 10 matches during the beta, that would mean 30,000 people total participated.

That's…… not very good.

Err I'm a dumbass. 10 people per match so 300,000 total?

Which ever way you cut it this game is fucked. Can't believe they are pressing ahead without substantial changes.

By the sounds of it the game needs tons of work.... characters, bland colour palette, modes, gameplay tweaks. Add it up and it'd be a decently sized overhaul which would make this game delayed to 2025. Especially avoiding Q4 COD time.

Should have had a real beta about a year ago.

Thats the problem with lots of games. A beta isnt really a beta when it launches in a month. At best, they tidy up some Q&A bugs and gunplay tweaks in a day one patch. Glorified demo. My interpretation of a beta test is way back in early beta mode. Like in the 2000s when PC gamers would get beta tests a year out. Not a month out.

I dont think Sony wants to put any more time or money. So just launch it and if it sinks, it sinks and consider it a write off. Firewalk can focus on the next game. Supposedly Sony was interested in their roadmap of ideas. And Concord wasnt even the one. That was the rumour weeks back. Who knows if thats even true.

Absolutely these "betas" are demos to sell the game (maybe not in this case lol) or network tests at most. I remember like yourself when beta actually meant beta. I think they call it early access these days lol.

I'd be surprised if the studio makes it through this tbh unless they have their next project ready to go into full development, like yesterday.

Ya. And a lot of early access downloads wants gamers to pay.

I never did PC beta downloads in the 2000s, but I get a feeling those didn't require payment to test it out. I got the impression back then they were free downloads to test it and give feedback with plenty of time till release. Then again, maybe some betas back then did want money. Not sure.

Betas back in the day where just that, actual betas that you where lucky if you got in. A sign up then a lottery normally if memory serves me correctly.

I only remember being in the City of Heroes beta, loved that game back then, shame it was completely shit looking back lol. I'd never played anything like it at the time though.
