Well, if you're going to base your assumptions on rumours - and you'll have to for Durango - then keep in mind that the same rumours imply that 3gb out of that 8gb is currently reserved for the OS.

Of course, if this is true, then MS can always free that memory up for future games through the generation - just as Sony did with PS3. But initially, you'll see games developed for the smaller pool of remaining memory.

The information on Orbis and Durango dev kits are not really rumours lol. Multiple devs and multiple sources have confirmed them. What final hardware will end up as is anyone's guess, but the dev kits are already out there in the wild.

This correlates with the ram manufacture stamps on the different dev kits. Bare in mind, the 4GB GDDR5 kits only went out in january. I doubt they would have made the Killzone SF demo in a month...

I found Sony's conference to be incredibly underwhelming, and with Nintendo not delivering yet, Microsoft is - unfortunately - the last hope. At the very least, I want to see how they are going to continue with the best and most innovative platform this generation: Xbox Live Arcade.
