CVG: Next Xbox Event scheduled for April 26th

So for the initial reveal games, it will be games that have been made using 8GB DDR3 (Durango dev kits) vs games that had been made using 1.5GB GDDR5 for the PS4 (Orbis initial dev kits). Pretty interesting. Theoretically then, the Nextbox games should have more graphical flair.
This is correct. The alpha build of KZ4 was made with 4GB in mind, fast ram and very impressive.

One things for sure, is that they're going to broadcast it straight to everyone on the 360's dashboard over Xbox Live.

Yep. And I really like the sound of that. Though, considering Microsoft's pockets it wouldn't surprise me to see them put it on TV.

Well, if you're going to base your assumptions on rumours - and you'll have to for Durango - then keep in mind that the same rumours imply that 3gb out of that 8gb is currently reserved for the OS.

Of course, if this is true, then MS can always free that memory up for future games through the generation - just as Sony did with PS3. But initially, you'll see games developed for the smaller pool of remaining memory.

The information on Orbis and Durango dev kits are not really rumours lol. Multiple devs and multiple sources have confirmed them. What final hardware will end up as is anyone's guess, but the dev kits are already out there in the wild.

According to one of the B3D devs, it was made with 1.5GB's in mind actually (2.2GB GDDR5 available on initial kits). It would have been developed on the earlier dev kits. This correlates with the ram manufacture stamps on the different dev kits. Bare in mind, the 4GB GDDR5 kits only went out in january. I doubt they would have made the Killzone SF demo in a month...

I'll just leave those here.

2 months away? :(
At least next-gen is releasing this year. E3 will be awesome. I hope after E3 we get a steady amount of news, screens and trailers for upcoming games. It'll make the time fly faster till launch.

More RAM talk?! Will it ever end?

I want to see some great games. New IP. New gameplay ideas.

I found Sony's conference to be incredibly underwhelming, and with Nintendo not delivering yet, Microsoft is - unfortunately - the last hope. At the very least, I want to see how they are going to continue with the best and most innovative platform this generation: Xbox Live Arcade.

What is it? it is like a puzzle?

I have no idea.

SuperDaE's Durango devkit showed Matrix code.

Makes sense. Or maybe GG is that damn good:)

Yeah, this is reactionary to Sony.

People keep saying they've planned this months in advance are probably right to some degree but I really think they are feeling the pinch now.

We are in for interesting times.

Yep. March-April Durango reveal, full blowout at E3, Holiday 2013 release to match Sony.

April 26th seems a bit late, but it makes sense, considering MS wants to keep the hype up.

So they were suppose to go first or not all, and if they did go first that would mean Sony would be 'reactionary'

Sorry but it just sounds like fanboy fodder. Someone had to go second, it doesn't have to mean anything.

I wonder if this would have been the case if Sony showed the console and announced a price so pre orders could be taken.

too late and plays out quite nicely into Sony's hand. If MS won't say exact price at the event the press will flame them to death. Moreover, Sony will know and adjust the price accordingly at E3.
