agreed but everyone just seems to be so negative about xbox its like sony always gets a pass nintendo can do no wrong and most media and fan boys always expect xbox to do something wrong theres never any positive expectations its 2006 all over again ps3 won before it came out but now that's not reality they wont even concede credit to ms for this generation and how far they've come now its about how the xbox won because of a fluke and how they will crumble beneath a bunch of stuff they showed at their recent press conference that msoft showed in 2006.

It should do as currently in Durango you can use it in parallel with the DDR3 RAM. However, like I said, it would be a waste of silicon, as this would give you the bandwidth you need.

People need to get over the RAM thing. Microsoft knows that DDR3 does not give you the bandwidth you need for games, so that is why they have invested in ESRAM. They also need to read Digital Foundry's analysis of Durango's specs where they say they after speaking to game developers the impression they came away with is that they will develop systems in the DDR3 memory and if the memory throughput becomes an issue they will port it over to the ESRAM. Now this is all in theory and still doesn't make it as good as Sony's solution, but it is not a complete disaster.

Not sure which reality you're living in but Nintendo gets no pass other than from their fanboys. Sony only gets a pass from their fanboys too, especially after their disastrous past 7-8 years. These are the same people that blindly attack Microsoft. It's not unusual to attack the company that bested the company you love though. The proper response to that isn't to respond in kind. Just ignore it.
 
I think Microsoft will have a lot of cool stuff to show and they do not want the playstation to have much time to respond or copy before e3. I wonder which will be the leader in specs?

The new logo was revealed on the 23rd of August 2012. I doubt it would take six months for the HMC webmaster to get the new logo up on the site.

But yet no one actually knows what msoft is using most of their parts are suppose to be custom and developed with all the new ibm engineers msoft acquired in the development division plus all of their R&D points to a system that needs to have a massive amount of memory to run applications like this speech recognition technology for the next xbox

plus all the ui stuff and multiple task stuff if anything their console should be the most ram filled console and i think that's why some of their stuff is so secretive because they are making a truly custom system and i think people need to wait and see before assuming all these rumors
 
Wasn't the manufacturing timeline for GDDR5 modules also such that people said it'd be absolutely impossible for the PS3 to have 8 GBs? Plus, for Sony to "push the limits" so drastically by jumping to 8 GB they must've heard some rumblings about what MS was planning.

MS is part of a consortium to design a Hybrid Memory Cube that significantly increases DDR3 ram into a powerhouse of RAM awesomeness. Some think this is the ram that'll be in Durango, despite the fact that the cube won't be going into production until 2014 at the earliest.

I'm not sure what reality you're living in, but the one I inhabit has had GDDR5 available in mass production quantities for over 5 years, what are you talking about? :P

its hard to when every blog or site you go to has a negative rumor that has baseless facts to support them or no credible sources i mean isn't it odd we saw the ps4 controller and durango was supposedly in development longer and we haven't see its controller i think Microsoft just gave developers an idea of what to develop for that's it while they cook up the system and when its comes out finally then give them the final kits to continue we knew way to much about orbis then durango but more negative stuff about durango that cant even be proven by anyone!

pretty much. but hey, people said the same about the 8 gb ram ps3 rumors.

anyway, i just hope ms (and/or sony) has something in place that makes buying games digital worthwhile.

Not sure why any of that is getting to you as much as it is. A lot has leaked about Durango. And it's painting a pretty clear picture of Microsoft's intent both with hardware and services. Sony fanboys will look at that and tell you next gen is all about power. Xbox fanboys will say it isn't, it's all about moneyhats, services, XBL etc. It really just comes down to which company markets their box the best and gets the most third parties on board to vocally support it.

no, they were thinking Sony would need to double up the qty of chips on the motherboard in order to get 8gb and that would require redoing the entire mobo layout with more connections to ram and shit. The more feasible way is to just double the density of the ram which is something many think they did and this wouldn't require a complex fix, but Sony could have been using 512MB chips to begin with and maybe did need to double up from 8 to 16 chips... Eh... Who knows. We got 8gigs.

Yeah, but he didn't took time to align the logos, format the tables or even change the text when removed the logo. I don't see those tables with border=1 since 1999 haha

this reveal event should be just like Microsoft 2006 e3 where they had so many games and partnerships knowing core gamers bring the generation along before going full blown media mid cycle if you saw this press conference you would know why they haven't spend time doing a lot of games lately they've been putting their studios in order and getting content ready for durango while using this past few years to get the next gen live ready for what they want to do by buying Skype and hiring all the people from onlive to fix their cloud solution.

this is a bit different. People are basing this off an article posted in early 2012 that states that MS, along with 9 other companies, are developing a new type of RAM. All the leaks, and all the "insiders" have not mentioned anything other than DDR3 RAM at 68gb/s and 32 MB ESRAM at 100gb/s. We also have have a lot people confirming that nothing has changed from the document leaks from the Fen 2012 summit(coincidentally right around the time this article about this new type of RAM was publish.)

So, it is quite a stretch, and some people do seem to be in "fantasy land" at the moment, getting way too excited over this. With that said it is an interesting find, and sounds like its interesting bit of new tech, but there nothing to say at the moment it has any connection to the next Xbox.
