45% and 43% is not really that shitty. I was shocked when I saw that, they aren't doing nearly as bad performance-wise as you think. Oh, and the Pistons are the ones with 45% The refs are really the only explanation. 21 fouls called and only 8 FT attempts. What does that tell you. This isn't touch basketball.

So Duncan is on pace for 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the biggest game of his career thus far, eh? So much for validating himself historically. :D Seriously, though, 9 shot attempts per half is NOT going to get it done, especially when (notice a pattern yet?) Parker and Ginobili (especially TP) have been entirely underwhelming.

A scary time for Spurs fans, to be certain. They had better distance themselves in the 3rd and mentally take Detroit out of the game, because I don't think that Detroit will lose a close game-- they have more clutch players, and shoot much better from the line overall.

I'm not watching the game, only refreshing nba.com's box score thingie, but it seems like both teams are playing terribly, although SA seems to be hitting those 3's quite nicely.

I expect Chauncey to go off. Duncan should have a big third, Manu too. Rasheed will wait until the 4th to put down some big shots.

Whoops! Just checked. Sorry about that. I forgot stuff picked up at the end of the 2nd.

Living out here in Ann Arbor I'm definitely pulling for the Pistons. I can't imagine a world where they lose this game, but I really feel like the odds are against them for some reason.

Bitches, plain and simple. The Spurs are a better team than this, and they are letting Detroit look a lot better than they really are.

The spurs are getting this game served on a silver platter and they are still down by 5.

Detroit is getting owned by the refs in game 6 and 7. The fact that they are stealing this against ALL those odds, hats off to these guys, there is nothing else to say.

Duncan seems more aggressive in the post and on the glass this half, but they're still not going to him enough. He needs to get a touch on 80-90% of the possessions. On one possession before, Duncan was out high and Manu was posting up-- wtf!? And then Manu got in trouble and expected TD to hit a 20-footer to bail them out, which Duncan missed. Atrocious.

Duncan, as usual, is getting MUGGED by the Pistons with no call (I counted no less than 3 missed calls on shot attempts by Duncan); meanwhile, ticky-tack fouls are being called against the SPurs on the other end (Rip's drive barely had any contact and Chauncey just brought his arms under Parker's on that post-up). I cannot STAND the way Detroit plays defense (though on offense, they definitely play the right way). And the refs let them get away with this BS, too. Duncan needs to get pissed off and start jamming in people's faces. No more soft stuff. Start knocking bodies out of the way for offensive rebounds.

Man...

Damn, Duncan is swatting the hell out of the ball. Ahaha, they just challenged him to go glass (wtf were they thinking) and he said, "EAT IT!"

The NBA season comes down to one quarter. For the title.

Also, in 12 minutes the 15 minutes of fame Rob Thomas had ends as well. "This is it now..." :D

They just missed the travel on Billups and it cost SA a three-point shot.

Why the HELL doesn't Duncan spin baseline quickly when he posts on Ben Wallace? The baseline is WIDE OPEN every time. Help comes from the middle as soon as he faces up and tries to put it on the floor. Against a great defensive team, you have to make your moves quickly, and be definitive-- you have to make them react to you, not vice versa. Seriously, watch when he posts up early in the shot clock-- he can spin baseline at any time. He tried it once a minute ago, but he didn't do it quickly enough, and to compound his error, he beat Ben baseline, then tried to spin back left, then baseline again, and Wallace swatted his shot out of bounds. He needs to make a statement in the 4th. I like the way he's been playing this half much more, though, but he needs to exploit Detroit's defense better.

And, what was that, Parker's seventh or eighth airball from deep this series? I've lost count... <rolleyes> Yeah Tony, the pick and pop from 3 is really your game. :lol

What a BS non-call on that out-of-bounds call. Rasheed was holding Duncan the entire time. I love Hubie with the "the refs have been consistent in calling the game in terms of post defense"-- really, Hubie? Then why is Duncan getting molested all game with no whistles, yet he then gets called for bullshit fouls on the other end?

They also need to catch Duncan when he flashes across the lane when the ball is at the top of the key, since he'll be in good position without the defense set and ready to triple-team him. Unfortunately for Duncan, Parker doesn't seem to be able to throw any sort of pass that isn't a strict entry pass to the post. Shame.

See what I mean? Duncan could have spun baseline twice just now, but didn't. Instead, he held, and held, and held the ball in the post until the defense got their spacing set, which made him unable to clear space for a shot. He needs to be smarter. The baseline is wide open, and judging by how his defender's weight is distributed, he should have no trouble getting there (i.e., they're off-center, and Duncan's outside leg is further to the baseline than theirs is in the normal post-up position; from there, you just execute a quick spin and you have your shoulder inside theirs, and you can use your body to muscle a shot up-- no time for the help to come).

Hate to sound like a broken record, but I've never seen such a good player totally miss an opening like this repeatedly.

the Spurs should try and trade Parker before it becomes obvious to the rest of the league just how much of a phony he is. No way this guy should be making $10 million a season.

Duncan with a near 3 and then Ginobili with the 3. Spurs might get lucky and pull this game out yet.

Can Duncan possibly hold the ball and wait and longer before he starts to make his move? It's like 6 seconds of posturing after he catches before he even puts it down on the floor. It's just ridiculous, now.

And Parker saved himself from airball #9...barely. :lol

Breaking news from Michaels!

Duncan was 15-15 from the free throw land in one game against the Suns and the he had a horrible game from the line.
