So, uh, Karen Gillan and Martin Freeman (you know - Dr. Watson and Bilbo Baggins) are on the Graham Norton show right now.

And some Gerard Butler bloke.

I have one that says "Good bye-a Sanjaya" so..

Also, I have started watching from the beginning of season 1 of New Who. I forgot how much I liked Eccleston.

Karen Gillan on Leaving Doctor Who
"I feel sad," she said of saying goodbye to the role of Amy Pond, "because I am gonna leave, but with any story, it has to come to an end. It was a mutual decision with me and ('Doctor Who' showrunner) Steven Moffat. We had this lovely dinner and decided when the best time for me to go was, and it's been decided. So I'm excited and slightly scared."

Asked later how much of the new season she would be in, she laughed and said she couldn't tell us, but, "There's going to be a few episodes. A few really good episodes."

Also, she's playing the role of a 60s model in a TV movie. So, uh, that'll be nice.

So we're getting a new companion. I hope she doesn't suck.

The current rumor is Madame de Pompadour/Reinette (Sophia Myles) based on twitter antics between Moffat and Myles. That episode also asked the "Doctor who?" question, so maybe Moffat had something planned all along.
After reading the Doctor's mind, Reinette says "Doctor who?", a reference both to the series' title and to the long-running mystery about the Doctor's actual name. She also says that it is "more than just a secret", but does not elaborate further. Moffat explains that he added the dialogue because he believes that, as the Doctor does not tell even his closest companions his name, there must be a "dreadful secret" about it.

I'm ok with this, she's a decent actress and isn't hard on the eyes.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

I'd be all over that. When was the last time we had a companion that WASN'T from modern day UK? Captain Jack? No I'm not counting the one-shot companions.

Read this on twitter and had a good laugh, thought some of you would be amused by the thought.

Hey Doctor Who fans: what if the Statue of Liberty is just a giant Weeping Angel that never moves because people are always looking at it?

but if Amy goes, presumably Rory goes too? And by the sounds of it that suggests during the next season (and not far in if 'a few episodes' is anything to go by)

If RTD were still in charge of Who, I'm sure we'd get a christmas special about them covering the statue of liberty for a magic trick or construction or something and it'd come alive and rampage through a New York full of people with shitty american accents.

And even if it wasn't very good I would enjoy it.

So looks like we got some hints in regard to a potential series 7 story arc, from London Toy Fair.

Looks like a steampunk? inspired episode could be on the cards.

This all looks terrible. I think it may be my time to bow out of Who until Grand Moff Stevie gets his show taken away from him.

I miss RTD and Julie so much =(

Joke post?

Nope, Moff is terrible compared to them. Don't know how many times I have to say it.

Julie and RTD cared about the franchise. They fought for it, they put out TWO different commentaries per episodes, one as a podcast and one as a DVD commentary, they made sure there was always a budget for things like Confidential, etc.

Yes they had some bad with the good just like any other show, even classics like Trek have bad episodes.

I like Matt Smith and his Doctor, I like his companions, I just don't like the MAJORITY of the stories being told as they've not been great and you can tell when Matt is playing HIS DOCTOR and when he's playing Moff or whoever wrote the crappy pirate episode's doctor. (As opposed to Nine and Ten who always played what they wanted, even with a bad script)

I was hoping a new showrunner would come along and let Matt be 11 just like 9, 10, Tom, etc. have been given the chance to do, but the way things are going, especially with all the money Moff is saving the beeb, that will probably never happen.
