My wife and I started watching the series on netflix. We're almost finished with the second season. Just finished the episode with the Beast of the Pit.
I really like David Tennant, but I feel like Christopher Eccleston was a better actor. David Tennant is good and he's charming, but the way Eccleston could switch moods on a dime was great. Although it seems like they just didn't write that sort of dialogue for Tennant.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... stuff.

Water of Mars is FUCKING great! It's good just as regular Sci-Fi, not even counting the Doctor.eznark said:So I watched all the episodes on Netflix and just watched the first special, Planet of the Dead.
Are all the specials God awful or should I watch them before jumping into the next season...and the new doctor?

To anyone:
What's the spoiler rule for new episodes (tagging required and such)?

Gamer @ Heart said:None. As long as it aired in the UK, no tags are needed.
It really was, in a sense it was full of cliches and ideas from a ton of Sci-Fi stories (The Thing, Ghost of Mars, IT: Terror From Beyond Space, Alien, etc), but it still felt fresh and just done really well that it didn't matter.KuwabaraTheMan said:Waters of Mars is absolutely amazing. It's one of the best Doctor Who stories of all time.
DrForester said:So I have no clue what is happening, but I saw an Ad for The Today Show this morning, and they're doing something next week that at one point has one of the hosts hiding from a Cyberman...
American broadcaster NBC has announced that its morning news show Today will meet Doctor Who on 6th May! Forming part of an initiative to broadcast from places all around the world, the show's presenter Meredith Vieira will visit the set of the show in the United Kingdom, and will also feature in a cameo in an upcoming episode. It has yet to be revealed whether she will be appearing in her role as Today presenter or in some other capacity.
Vieira's appearance follows a tradition of cameos in the series, which include Barbara Windsor in Army of Ghosts, Sharon Osbourne, Anne Widdecombe and band McFly in The Sound of Drums, Richard Dawkins and Paul O'Grady in The Stolen Earth, and Patrick Moore in The Eleventh Hour, plus the vocal talents of Anne Robinson, Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine portraying their robotic counterparts in Bad Wolf.
The first four series of Doctor Who regularly featured American news reports by Trinity Wells (played by Lachele Carl) from fictional network AMNN.

On the plus side it looks like the Silence shoots don't scare the hare in a fight with River and the Doctor. DIE, HARE. DIE.
They debuted it after the Royal Wedding, and a quick glance at the ratings for the point they would have showed it... somewhere between 11 and 14 million people saw that. Which is quite special.Sheppard said:That clip is awesome.
Are they repeating old programs like One Foot in the Grave? The majority of that trailer are shows that were on years ago.JonathanEx said:They debuted it after the Royal Wedding, and a quick glance at the ratings for the point they would have showed it... somewhere between 11 and 14 million people saw that. And yes, 6pm. Don't turn on BBC One before 5.58pm. It could prove fatal.
JonathanEx said:If you tune in before 5:58 you might witness Don't Scare The Hare. I'm only saying :58 cos I know the Beeb love trailers. Maybe tune in at 5:59 to be safe.
