Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

Pre-
Daimon
, not post. Isn't Duskmoon
completely safe pre-Daimon
?

Pre-D it is completely safe, until you place the bait. It's better to farm at that time anyway, so you don't have to deal with the other dragons and things.

I'm not quite sure what to do about the second boss in BBI. I guess I'm just under-geared because it takes about 10 minutes to get one health bar down, but I'm not sure where else I'm supposed to go to get better gear for my Assassin. Plus the guy that enhances gear in BBI that used to be right after the first boss seems to gone somewhere else, though I haven't checked his first spot again.

If you kill the dragon, the pope will eventually possess it himself and once you down the dragon again, the pope will fall to the floor where your party can wail on him for greater damage.

Barroch should now be either in the safe room of the first stratum (top of the stairs before the sewers/after the cockatrice area) or at the entrance of the first shortcut you unlocked, after the Gazer boss.

You can buy them off of Fournival for a bunch of money, they're pretty rare otherwise. Nameless Terror triggers by talking to a guard right outside the south gate of Gran Soren.

Can't buy stuff from Fournival anymore :))))))))))))))))

And I triggered the start of it but I mean how does it actually advance?

Also, about the Salomet questline
uhh what at that bossfight, I was a warrior so by the time I got to him he would teleport but somehow he died in seconds without even being touched?

Got 34 hrs into my new PC char (Basically did everything except BBI) but decided to import my PS3 save for hard mode.

So far across both platforms I've got ~120hrs in this game and I haven't gotten tired of it. The gameplay is just so, SO good. I'm excited to see what nightmares Hard Mode BBI has in store.

To add to the suggestions: the bishop can be silenced, so try using silencer arrows on him.

Alright, will I eventually come across a pilgrim's charm for Valmiro? And without spoiling anything, how does the Nameless Terror quest trigger?
To actually trigger the encounters in Nameless Terror, you have to go to the locations at night. If I remember right, they are:

- Just north of the bridge that's north of Gran Soren.
- North entrance of the Quarry.
- The canyon pass, north of the gate.
- Outside the gate to Cassardis.

I think that was all of them.

am i missing something or does act of atonement do less damage than a normal light strike would? spark slash seems kinda useless as well

It had a bit of a slow start after the all-action intro, but holy moly does this game get good after you get your teeth into the Gran Soren questlines. Being able to confidently face down a chimera and win is the best.

As is graduating from the DLC armour, Fashion's Dogma let's go.

Also, best court jester in all of videogames.

Lanrutcon was kind enough to gift me a lvl3 BBI weapon and this time it came up a bow for my assassin or a sword for my assassin... which to keep? I'm leaning toward bow since I'm generally pretty potent up close as it is.. bow will help soften things up a little. I much prefer daggers to sword but then again I could probably do well enough with the sword too.

thoughts?

You can always find him in The Warrior's Respite, the room with the healing spring and notice board.

Either is valid, since Dire Gouge is so ridiculously good. If you're already used to masterful kill, clarvoyance will seem lacking tho, as will the loss of instant reset.

Bow will be better for Death +Blast arrow kills, tho.

Griffins constantly fly away from me :/

also what's the best pawn inclination for each vocation and how can i get them to do that?

Damn, so it's not just me then? I encountered a griffin after changing my vocation from Strider,->Magic Archer->Mystic Knight since everybody says they are so fun, and it flew away. I tried to hang on but my MK just lets go lol.

To infinity!

Depends what your Pawn's vocation is.

For my Sorcerer, I use Utilitarian as its primary inclination and Challenger as the secondary. Get Utilitarian Elixirs from the vendor at the first encampment where you first get your Pawn.

For Striders/Fighters who you want to climb on monsters to do damage, use Scather.

Medicant/Utilitarian for buffing/debugging/healing Mages.

Having a way to consistently set the Griffin on fire helps a ton. Even if you need throw oil flasks and firebombs at it, it's worth it. I'm pretty sure they can't fly away if when they are on fire.

This is correct, although after a while they'll stop being on fire.

I'm trying to convince myself to pick this up, but the constant micro-pauses during melee combat in the videos I've watched are extremely distracting. Is it noticeable or helpful while actually playing the game, and is there a way to disable it?

Do you mean the hitstop? I don't think there's a setting or mod to disable it at the moment, but only the Warrior class uses it that heavily, it's negligible with others.

Helpful in some cases, but you can turn it off if you want.

Just beat the Dragon, finally at the post game although I've been using the same shitty gear for my Assassin. At least my pawn looks much better, thanks to everyone using Azura the Fighter, hopefully she was useful.

It makes impacts feel much better. You'll get used to it for sure, it'll be the last thing you noticed when you fighting and climbing griffins, dragons and etc.

EDIT: I thought he/she was referring to the hitstop. I turned off the cinematic moments in battle, cause they got pretty annoying.

You know what can be super annoying at times? Pawn AI. Normally it's okay, serviceable to actually pretty decent. Sometimes though, it's goddamn stupid. I have a weapon that does split damage. Half of the damage just so happens to be what an enemy is weak against (ice). However, because according to the pawn AI, it's not "enchanted", so what does it do? Enchants my weapon to an element a particular enemy is strong against (fire), actually greatly weakening my weapon!

where's the pilgrim's charm in soulflayer canyon? no video guides up on youtube

It is a loose item, it's just a bag on the floor. From the west entrance, it is against the wall nearest the first ladder that goes down (don't go down though). It's very easy to miss and I had to look around for it for a bit, but it's there.

yeah just found it on my own, thanks though

I think I'm still pretty earlier. I've been given an audience w/ the Duke. It says "all uncompleted tasks will be stopped" Does this even include things like "kill 45 of <x>" or the escort missions still on boards I haven't done yet?

So, I just finished the Wyrm hunt quests for Ser Maximilian.
He's telling me that in order to proceed I'm going to lose all of my quests. Does this only mean any wyrm hunt quests i didnt finish? (i did all 4)
Or is there anything i need to make sure and do before i proceed?
Thanks guys!

HAHA wow. The post right above me is asking the same thing.. lol sorry

Or when the goddamn pawn breaks water/oil jars before I fucking fill my empty ones.

Morrigan Stark

Arrogant Smirk
Pre most likely.
Post always has an elemental dragon spawn. I suppose you could kill the bishop and his dragon.
The bishop doesn't respawn until you killed Daimon, it seems. I'll try to check Duskmoon Tower then for that grudge match. Or I could just go kill Daimon but I'm scared of post-Daimon BBI... xD

I'm playing online.
That's why. Online Ur-Dragon is weird (you can fight him as a more "normal boss" offline) and complicated and must be damaged by all players around the world.

Yeah that's annoying. That pawn probably has low knowledge of that monster.

Notice board "hunt X/collect X" quests are safe at all times.
Quests given by NPCs are generally not safe and should all be completed before that.

It should only close off Wyrm Hunt quests, but make a checkpoint save right beforehand just to be safe. Some NPC related quests are closed off as you progress, but that early there shouldn't be any you'll miss out on.

EDIT: Checked and there are a couple of cutoffs. In particular,
the quests "Dying of Curiosity", "Chasing Shadows", "Reapers Scorn", and "A Troublesome Tome" be cut off.
