Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

When you're up against two Firedrakes and your Pawn decides to launch a Maelstrom -- woo Lord, the fun I had with my Great Cannons. <3

Desire sensor is real. While trying to find thousand kisses or gouge rings I got ninefold's, but I have no business using it since I was a ranger for about 80% of the game and so I have barely any magick. I tried a Daimon run with it but it took me 10x longer to kill him - even though I got through everything else 10x faster thanks to ricochet.

Finally had a decently sized play session. Game is still amazing. Playing on max settings, wish it looked a little bit better but I expect we'll have mods for that soon enough.

Came across the bad news that the Berserk armour sets aren't in the PC version because of licensing issues. Anyone found a good mod yet?

Speaking of letting other gaffers pawns die unceremonious deaths, if you rehire a pawn right after it gets clipped does the 3 star rating still show up?

The rating you see is the average of all the ratings given by that person since you synced up. So if I let your pawn die, rehire, rate it 5 across the board, then it'll show up as 4 to you.

I think around meeting the duke is where the game gets dull, you level way too fast so by the time you get there you're around lvl30+, that's already outleveling most of everything until end game, I wonder if there's a way to lock a character's level progression based on where you are in the game, or make it so that you gain less exp, both sound a bit complicated to mod tho, but there's already a mod that slow down leveling, but I'd imagine that applies to the entire game

Maybe something like this?

Btw i feel that too, i've even stopped buying new weapons/gears because i already feel the game is too easy, done a sub quest yeasterday ,which ended with a boss fight, killed him in a couple of shots. Now i'm just going around Gran Sys with no weapons equipped, i climbed on a cyclop and punched the shit out of his eye rotfl.

Guess things will get interesting in BBI.

You'll get 1% less experience for every level a pawn is higher than you, up to -25% per pawn. The same is true for the opposite, so a lower level pawn grants you extra experience. If you hire two high level pawns, you'll therefore get 50% less experience.

Interesting. So really you should only grab pawns around your level? Even if friends have way higher pawns?

The only thing magick archer is useless against is the Metal Golem. If you're solo'ing it, you're a bit SOL unless you can use the golem as a platform to jump on the stupid medal, but hopefully you'll have an archer pawn to take care of it. There are no Metal Golems in BBI though so who cares?

There actually is a metal golem in BBI, 2 regular ones too.

Would this make a decent Strider pawn?

You want utilitarian as primary or secondary on a strider.

A bunch of mercenaries escorting a princess to her destination.

Nice change of scenery though.

If anyone has a pair of Heavens Keys they are willing to part with, I'll reciprocate with a DF Ascalon!

Might change your stats with a cheat table rather than relying on those mods to do it. The change will be just as permanent if you mod your stats though (consider yourself forewarned!). I'm currently playing with about 800 health at level 80 and the game's a lot more exciting as a result.

Aw yeah gurl. Maybe 40 rings later I'm in there

Kinda crazy that this stupid ring straight up gives you a 50% damage buff on your Sixfold Arrows. Had a tough time with MA against D-mon compared to the other classes that I've used. Tried him again and not only was I doing 1.5 -> 2 bars per flurry but it could stunlock as well. Doesn't even need periapts either.

Officially completed the MA circle of OP-ness

How so?
Reading around a bit, it seems like people like Scather/Mitigator/Pioneer or Utilitarian/Scather/Challenger

Once you get enough bestiary knowledge on a pawn, Utilitarian is the inclination that has them coordinate with other's attacks and/or uses effective techniques. It take a minute to become useful, but when it is it's really good.

The scather / mitigator / pioneer build sounds like they want their pawn going after everything, focusing on big then small targets. The utilitarian / scather / challenger build means the pawn will use bestiary knowledge first, go after the big enemies second, then focus on long range / casting enemies third. If you want your pawn to focus on casters more, switch scather and challenger.

the free cam is cool but it's so hard to get a good group screenshot because the pawns are always all over the place and clipping into shit lol

Wait, if a pawn dies you automatically count as giving it 3 stars? Looks like I'll have to go do some quick rehiring since I had a couple vanish whilst going up the tower to the griffon and they were both damn good pawns.

So I just beat Grigori and somehow Valmiro ended up as my romance partner... wtf? I only did his quests nothing more so why is he suddenly my love interest. Geez. Capcom, if you do DD2, either remove the romance system or make it more clear as how and when you romance a character. That humping seen of Valmiro and my character caught me of guard.

Yup. Letting a pawn die kicks it back to the owner with 3 stars and no reward.

You jerk.

Thanks, went with utilitarian / challenger / scather. Gonna be interesting to see how that works out.

What in-game settings should be used to maximise GEDOSATO?

I am using SMAA with 4K downsampling. Anything I should shut off in-game?

Grigori is a troll (sorry)

Name: Valmiro

Role: Fisherman but really wants to be Traveller

Personality: Pure, gentle, reserved, passionate, scientific. Looked upon as strange for his interests. Can disappear completely into his own thoughts.

While most men in Valmiro’s village are fisherman, he only cared for the plants and animals that surrounded him and of course neogaf number one lover Blade30.

Took a small break from my main play thru to try out a level 1 BBI run. I didn't get too far (about level 15 now) and didn't really kill anything significant yet but it doesn't seem as hard as I assumed it would be. Mostly just running around the first couple areas farming chests. Seems like the biggest hurdle to that challenge is how well you're treated by RNG on weapon drops since doing damage to things is quite difficult with noob weapons.

Agreed, looks great during the day, but even more importantly for me cleans up the night sky and keeps it dark af.

To those of you using the Rudy ENB, what kind of performance are you getting?

I've got a 980 but at 1440p it was giving me less than 60fps with the Vanilla ENB preset. Wondering if the Rudy one is more or less of a hit. If I can hit 70-80 fps at 1440p, then I don't have to worry about fights dropping the framerate too low.

How exactly does one train a pawn to do something? Is it as simple as performing the action? And for how long roughly.

I want to teach my Ranger pawn to use blast arrows and just spam tenfold flurry but I don't wanna play the Ranger class too much.

So I guess the utilitarian inclination lets your pawns revive one another?

No, they can't revive at all. Nexus will get them to pick one up and bring them near you so you can revive them.

Utilitarian is for using support skills like the warrior/ fighter taunts, typically climbing for dagger classes, and generally expoloiting weaknesses.

I guess I was just imagining things. I thought I saw one them revive the other, but maybe they just used a curative when their health turned red. It was extremely useful fighting the chained cyclopes

There is a DLC staff that lets Mage pawns auto-revive. Perhaps that occurred.

Finally got Clout from Warrior last night, now I switched my Vocation to Sorcerer and my Pawn from Sorcerer to Fighter. Never played as a Sorcerer before, so it'll be a bit different for me. I just can't wait to have all the Augments I need to finally start playing Magick Archer.
