How do you know what armor/weapons to buy? I find myself just passing by everything in the store because the numbers are always lower than what I have, but what I have has been improved. So I really have no idea if I were to buy something/use materials on it, that it would be better than what I have,

Just killed the priest in the cathedral in BBI as a fighter.

JESUS that was a tough. i was doing fractions of damage on his HP bar with my hits
. the dragon was no problem, but the priest either kept sending my pawns to the shadow realm or moving around too much to hit.

i eventually got him down to the point he enters his pet dragon, but then would unleash a barrage of magic attacks nonstop. He would do that hurricane magic thing that would wipe me out and my party. The sucky part is that my body kept getting juggled even at 0 hp. i just stood there without manually going back to the savepoint cause i was just flabbergasted at how horrible everything was going. Once i finally got it in my head that hitting his hands would stop the magic attacks things got a little better, but one bad sequence and i was out again.

finally i put 1-and-1 together again and realized i had a rusted sword and could just do multiple pokes to slow down his magic casting enough for my overpowered pawns to keep in permalock knockdown with heavy duty magic. finally won...although i felt I denied myself an accomplishment by using rusted. I'm still lvl 60 and i realize maybe things are too advanced at my lvl for now.
but my main motivation is to have access to lvl 3 BBI gear to dragonforge.

TBH, you can probably get away without ever actually buying anything (the best stuff can't be bought anyway - you have to find it at post-game Everfall or BBI (the best stuff, but it's cursed and you must purify it)). You can probably beat the main game with just what you find or get from quests.

Oh, okay. I guess I will avoid buying stuff! For some reason I can not really get my grips on this game like I can other RPG's. I enjoy it a lot, but I am just sorta going with the flow.

Oh boy! Not even sure what that is yet.

Dragonforge is one level above 3 stars (and there are two more levels above Dragonforged that can only be obtained once something has been Dragonforged).

There is a chance of your equipped items getting dragonforged (arisen only, so if you wanted to dragon forge the pawn's gear, you would have to equip it first) when you kill a dragonkin or dragons. The stronger the opponent (dragons > dragonkin) and higher the stars on your equipment, the better the odds of dragonforging your equipment.

It isn't really something to worry about unless you do BBI (there's a dragon there that's great to grind to dragon forge your stuff). Dragons can also be challenging if you don't know what to do when fighting them.

Currently level 25 and I see I can rent some 60+ level pawns from friends for free. I know I will get less XP having them, but is it worth it to be able to chew through content and quests faster?

Need some general tips to beat awakened form of Daimon, which pawns to hire (i have MK arisen and sorcerer main pawn), how to escape or cancel his rift vortex attacks etc.
Already bought hundreds of Tagilus's Miracle and other useful potions..
Also can i skip all that monsters in Fallen City?

You'll be trivializing the best part of the game by getting pawns to just rip through enemies.

Ranger or strider pawns would complement your party nicely *cough*

When he does the rift vortex attack you have to deal as much damage to the head as possible to stagger him out of it. Mushroom potage can help your pawn free themselves somewhat (that refills stamina for the entire party). If you are too far when the starts doing the attack, try spamming holy-buffed great cannon (you can cast multiple cannons at once and when you attack you throw more projectiles at once), Demon Periapts might help. If you are very close, try climbing him and attack the face on his chest and use Conqueror/Tagilus.

Yes, I generally run past this room. Or I just kill the first few monsters as you enter and ignore the chained gorecyclops and corrupt pawns. You can come back later to clear the room, I always do it at least once, just to explore and loot everywhere, but for the most part I just run.

Thanks.
I have some friend's strider pawn with infinite sign level, i think its time to hire him =)

Ok, decided to do this, ending was kinda mind blowing lol but i liked how
it closed the circle, the battle could have been so much better though i mean a 2vs2 battle against the old Arisen and his pawn sounded epic and then i shotted him with an arrow ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So, the Arisen we used during the prologue was actually the one we freed with the blade, who got reincarnated as a new Arisen again time after?

Also,
Punished Venom Pawn.

Shame that the story got interesting only in the final part of the game(Grigori + post game).

By the way, i kinda regret starting NG+ because of Everfall, maybe i should have stayed there more for exping, grinding gear before jumping on NG+ and BBI.

Savan killed his dragon and beat his seneschal, and then became the seneschal for who knows how many ages.
Meanwhile new arisen were made and new dragons were made from those that failed to beat seneschal (savan).
Like the DragonForged fought grigori and failed
Before him Sofiah beat her dragon and regained her heart, but decided not to fight any longer
After Dragoforged The Duke was made arisen, and sacrificed his loved one (lenore) to grigori, and in return he was granted his wish of ruling or some shit, and thus became duke.

Also now you actually need to finish the game again, but before you go to end, switch the game to offline mode, and you'll see something really dope. If you just do the main quest, you can run through it really fast.

When exactly do we need to go offline? I think I just did that on Everfall.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
Can someone just say what happens if you're in offline mode? Of all the times I beat it I don't think I was offline for any of them.

You mean the
20 wakestones
? I can't remember if I was offline :/

Yes that one, but I think you still have some leeway into the final segment.
I think that if you do it before you get to the cutscene
where he says:"yes arisen, you are close to me, so very close to me"
You can still change it to offline mode and get it, not sure though.

I'll make to sure to be offline in my next playthrough.

it didn't make much sense though, right? I mean, you kill yourself, you suposedly break the cycle, and then there you are again

As for the story I cannot give my final verdict since I have not finished the game yet. But so far I find it much more enjoyable and well written than for instance Bethesda's games.
Terrible comparison, simply because Bethesda games are so bottom-of-the-barrel that you're basically comparing it to pig droppings. When your standards are that low, well... sure doesn't say nice things about the state of the games industry.

Well I guess it's just
supposed to take place in a world where you didn't end the cycle and chose to live as seneschal, you playing the game again is just a new arisen
.
It's just a little nod to the
pawn system and all the different worlds they come from

Damn, this makes me what a good open world Beserk game.

FYI. The comic/book/manga is finally semi-regular releasing again, finally of the boat.

I read this message today and took it to heart.

I was relying on lvl 200 mage pawns for a lot of BBI/latest game stuff and i wasn't really immersing myself in the rough areas. things are tough, but manageable tough.

i decided to run with pawns my level not just to give my 2 friends all that free RC (they already dont have as much need at that level) and to try to give some other people a chance for their pawns to earn.

Also, to make the game be more challenging without resorting to hard mode (for now) and force myself to search for variety in gameplay.

right now im training warrior class and the slow swing speed and enemies just waltzing through hits, and me and my party just shaving their HP bars. But i tell you what...every victory is well-earned.

How do the side quests on the boards work? Are they endless? I keep going back and there are always more. Or if they end, how do I know?

No, there is a finite amount of quests. The boards can only show 6 at a time and some only unlock as you progress the story. If you haven't been checking frequently, it would just look like there is an endless supply. You will know when it's done when there aren't anymore showing up...

I believe none of the notice board quests ever expire except for the escort quests (which are usually more trouble than they are worth anyway).

Finished BBI and defeated the BBI end boss for the first time. He went down within 30 secs once I stacked 4x Str and Mag increasing items, and then mashed the Great Cannons with Full Moon Slash. Finally got some 3rd tier BBI items. Gained a bunch of levels too (93 to 96 Hard Mode).

It appears that there are still enemies that I haven't fought yet going by the pawn knowledge. I am guess some enemies are exclusive to post-BBI-boss stage? Anyway, looking forward to upgrading my gear and then exploring Gransys again, and then coming back to BBI for round 2.

Where do people drop the port crystals? I am just lugging 3 of them around!

I drop them where the story missions take me so that when I replay it doesn't take me long to get around. You can actually place a total of 10 port crystals.

I have mine placed at:

Windbluff Tower
Shadow Fort
Greatwall Encampment
Manamia Trail - right next to the port crystal where you meet Mercedes to take the Hydra head to Gran Soren.
Hillfigure Knoll

These were just for convenience:

Bluemoon Tower
The Healing Spring just to the NW of the Blighted Manse (a lot of escorts want to go there)
Devilfire Grove next to the camp
Next to Catacombs main entrance
The Abbey

There are 10? I only have 3.

You can find 5 in around the land. They will respawn each time you start a new game (so 5 in NG, 5 more in NG+). You can also buy them from the Black Cat starting in NG+.

So what/how is the post game? Seems people play it, so what is up with it? Or should I just wait until I am done to ask that question? lol

Post Game is after you beat Grigori the Dragon. The land changes a bit and the Everfall becomes fully explorable.

There is also Bitterblack Isle which is always available once you get your main pawn, but it's more of an expansion. Some people recommend you at least beat the post game once and enter BBI on NG+. It's also quite a bit tougher than anything else.

gonna do some daimon runs, anyone need RC? any pawn, doesnt matter level, add me on steam, same name as username here, or PM your name
Yes please! SixFourMike is my Steam name (I think), I think the pawn's name is still Skeme (I changed my pawn for NG+ but have been offline for a while). If it's changed, it's Torpor.

Alright, I'm level 161 now and playing Bitterblack Isle 2.0. So far the only things I can't seem to kill are the upgraded drakes and wyrms (fire and frost I believe).

It feels weird to have 120 some hours yet I haven't even gotten any of the good BBI armor or weapons yet, but I'm constantly renting pawns from people with 60 - 90 hours that have pawns decked out in things like gold forged framae blades and the higher tier armor with 3 stars in everything. That being said, it hasn't felt like I truly needed that stuff (except I'm powerless against Death, the upgraded drakes/wyrms, and needed to summon two level 200 people to help beat the boss of BBI - I think I will try to reach level 200 myself and lower the difficulty back to normal before facing him for round 2).
