Does a sorcerer no longer heal party members? I upgrade from a mage, now kinda wish I hadn't.

Sorcerers can't heal party members, yeah. They get stronger spells and all, but mage is definitely better for support. You can switch back for free, though I'd wait on that till you unlock some of the sorcerer's augments.

Man It feels good to be playing this game again. The combat is just........got dayum.
Why can't every game have combat like this.

I be going IN, with this shield and sword though.

Lol wow, stabs for everyone.

No sorcerers don't have healing spells but they get some boss ass offensive spells and buffs. My pawn is a sorcerer and yeah I gotta have a regular mage in the party for healing but it also means my sorcerer can have giant ice spikes hit the boss during a battle.

I have a rogue, a tank/board and sword warrior a mage and a sorcerer in my party. That's balanced enough.

Yeah, having a sorcerer in the party every once in awhile is great. Those moments when you're struggling with a boss, then a gigantic spell wipes out all of their health at once.... Mmm...

Pretty sure you can eat consumables like apples or grandgrapes to recover the portion that cannot be healed through a spell.

I just don't know how to get my pawns to forcibly eat something to recover their halved HP bars.

Oh yeah, forgot that it's only the healing magic that doesn't fully heal.

Pawns will only heal themselves if they have healing items on them and if their health is <50%, sometimes they won't heal until they're flashing red. They're dumb.

Nope, Sorcerer can't use the healing spells. You can go back to the Inn and just change back to mage. it cost you nothing to do that. you can switch classes as much as you like after you paid the price to unlock them.

On the other hand, if they have a medicant tendency they'll eat every healing item they have on them.

You've gotta use healing items to get them capped out again. Healing magic only heals so much(the white part after you're damaged). Don't think it has a particular name.

Can't you heal those with healing items?
Also if they die just run and revive them. It's annoying but it works.

Curative items still heal you, only your curative magic is impacted.

Also, I agree - unlimited sprint is a godsend. The limited sprint is cool if I just want to run around aimlessly and fight some dudes, but when I actually want to get somewhere specific and have to stop running every 7 seconds, reklicking the stick over and over and over and over again while letting go of the analogue stick or tapping the right trigger to stop for a moment and get back from sprinting to merely jogging...nah. That's just tedious.

After playing the console version for something between 80 and 100 hours I can definitely say I'm having even more fun with the game now that I can a) use the Eternal Ferrystone almost from the beginning and b) can just keep on sprinting.

I can see why you would consider this quite archaic design to be part of the experience to really make you dread venturing out at night or...well...really, travelling anywhere at any possible time, but there's quite a number of players who don't have fun with that. Especially if you add how easy it is to completely miss the fast travel option or the possibility to set your own Portcrystals AND how easy it is to miss certain quests or events by not having entered the right house at the right time. Mods like these allow these players to have fun with the amazing combat on their own terms - and that's just fine :)

Okay, I thought Curative items just did the same thing and I couldn't figure out how to get my pawns to take those items.

I looked up how to make Balmy Perfume, which heals my entire group for 300.

Started a fresh game from scratch on hard and my god...

https://youtu.be/j7EyzxVjWWQ

maybe I should be higher than level 24 for this :)

Oh my God, it was playing the music for you too XD I was getting all hyped too, the music was playing, the goat was silenced, you were kicking its butt up and down, and then from chalice of victory from whence that glorious closing song pours... Came a squish, and all fell silent. D:

No.

NO!!!!

Do not give up, stand back up, draw your steel and sink the blade of your vengeance deep into the heart of the beast, and when at last the howls of its death throes echoes from the fields to the villages, and all heads turn in understanding of your deed, as the dust settles, as the trumpets of heaven proclaim the song of your triumph. Rise, stand tall, raise your arms upon high, and drink deep, of the victory over a terrible and mighty foe.

So, made some progress with the ENB and no Hydra was harmed in 8 hours of gametime.

I really hope that some artists will work on textures mods.

So how many of you have tried Bitterblack? Are you liking it? That place can be a real challenge even on normal and easy.

I went there on hard at level 20. The first few rooms weren't too bad. And I knew better than
to fight the fucking reaper
. I'm not in a rush to go through it, though.

Up to the Gazer, whom I'm sure I can kill soon.

I like it. Very rewarding, great atmosphere, super dangerous. I just want some damn holy daggers before I make a serious go of it. For now I just pop in every now and then to farm level 1 weapons and armor.

It's better than Everfall, that's for sure. Everfall bites.

Yep! It's made to be the endgame/expansion content. It's built much more like a piece of Dark Souls DLC than an expansion to Dragon's Dogma, to be honest.

Tried the first section around level 25(doing hard mode), made it to the merchant guy at the big hub section. The labyrinthine design and stuff is nice, but I would have liked it more if I got better cursed stuff from the chests I found :p. All I got were some rings and a fancy pickaxe.

I don't feel comfortable using KB&M outside combat. Accidentally stabbed someone while I was in Gran Soren.

Went there right at the start to clear the map marker. Got to the first boss cutscene but died before I could even fight him.

The way you have to move in Everfall... so awful.

Awesome!

I'm about to attempt Bitterblack on hard for the first time. I went through several times on easy and normal. I love/hate this place. The gear you can get from here is so damn good though.

God damn that escort peddler quest is no fucking joke. Thought it would just be some quick exp and gold and maybe kill some bandits. Near the end I had to run for my life to the finish line.

Looks really good! How's it at nightime?

Doing the first Wyrm quest. I feel a bit under leveled, that cave troll in the mines took forever to kill. Skipped the second one, I'll kill it later.

Which one?
That one where you have to a escort some dude to a castle far far away from Gran Soren?
If yes,
you better be careful, IIRC, there is a Chimera AND a Drake sleeping not far off the road close to some goblins pack, on top of an armored Cyclope.

I have currently no idea, I still have to
talk to Mercedes for triggering the Hydra's attack,
so I'm still in the middle of the day.

I was really underwhelmed by Warrior until I figured out how bonkers its stagger capability is. I just shat on three Ogres in a row and they could not even fight back.

Slowly but surely still progressing through the game and its damn fun, 60fps helps this game out so much its ridiculous. Added the Into Free mod and also the reduced stamina cost for sprinting, makes exploring that much better. Really excited to see what comes to DD through modding, hopefully someone creates an HD texture pack alongside with randomized spawns.

Good to be back in Gransys after putting too much time into the PS3 version (max level, max vocations, with amazing gear for them all).

Went to go clear the mine, was fighting one of those lovely Ogres. Thing has the tiniest sliver of hp left, 2 of my pawns are dead and I run out of stamina and am catching my breath. I see my ranger pawn just nock an arrow, draw and bam, I level up. Thanks random pawn who is soon to be very underleveled.

Then I went exploring all the places I remember, fought 4 cyclopses and 4 chimeras, along with more bandits than I can count (tip: if you're a sorc, Miasma will destroy groups), leveled up about 6 times, ferry'd back to the city and quit for the night. So I'm level 24 and haven't really done much quest-wise.

I just noticed I didn't receive any achievements from playing yesterday. Only just now after booting up again and leaving the encampment did I get one.

To anyone else using GeDoSaTo are your load times astronomical when activating it? I'm not using anything too crazy, Deband filter, SMAA injection and that's it.

When I don't have it enabled my load time is 4 seconds.

When I enable GeDoSaTo my load times from camp to world is 32 seconds.

What am I missing?

EDIT
Also, is there anyway to tinker with GeDoSaTo realtime? For instance, I want to play with some DOF settings, can I do that without having to load into the game everytime?

That can happen sometimes with Steam I've noticed.

I remember playing Octodad all the way through(it isn't a very long game) and I ended up not getting many achievements because I had that bug for most of it and didn't realise till near the end of the game, in which I restarted to fix it.

When should you try the Dark Arisen content? When you reach a certain level or in the post game?
if this is your first run, save it for the end. It has the best gear in the game and the most challenging enemies. Your level can vary but I'd say at least 70+ with the best end game gear from vanilla you can manage

There's a keybind for reloading settings, and another for reloading postprocessing.

The load time stuff could be related to shader tracking, but it really shouldn't be that significant. If I can reproduce it I might have a look. For tweaking in real time, what I do is force the game to borderless fullscreen (for easier alt-tab) and keybind the "reloadShaders" action. Then you can edit the shader file, reload it in-game and directly see the result.

I have some bad news for those of you still clinging to the hope that Guts' set and Griffin's set will make it to the game as a mod.

The game recognises the item id for each piece of the sets but it doesnt recognise what the item is so it becomes a question mark in the "other" category. Maybe a better modder than I can tackle this.

Presets please?
and a brief lesson on how to set it up xD

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
LOVE knocking things off of cliffs, it's so amazing and funny.

Lots of nice warrior combos, but I'm still glad I went strider. So quick.

The cyclops I fought outside the outpost, I managed to knock off the cliff. The people watching my stream told me that wasn't supposed to happen. Hope I didn't miss a chance to get some loot off of him or something.

Thank you both, I'll try to see if I can recreate it now. I had just turned it off due to the load times, I should mention this was at 4K native on my Samsung TV, not sure if that was just a ton of data to push through, but the load times had extreme deltas.

I've read that switching to whatever vocation you want is no big deal, but is there any reason not to immediately switch my vocation from strider to mystic knight (and my pawn's from fighter to strider) upon reaching Gran Soren? I don't care about min/maxing, but if there is something else I should do first that makes a knight far more effective I would probably do it.

I guess I'm just paranoid that switching to such a different class has some drawback I'm not seeing.
